Chapter 5 - New Life DxD- Chapter 4

It had been some time since I saw Gilgamesh's memory.

After that, and also analyzing what I'm going to do in this world, I decided to explore the room a bit, which is undoubtedly incredible, full of toys, games, and various things to do.

After a moment of fun with the games, I went to the bathroom to take care of basic needs, and I'll admit I admired myself in the mirror a bit.

What? I'm handsome in this form.

After that, I reviewed some of my memories, which I admit was complicated.

How can I explain?

I know!

Let's say it feels like there are three people in the same body. After all, I have my memories as Diogo, the ones from when I was born in this world, from birth until six years old, and those of Gilgamesh.

Although a bit complicated, I managed.

I also trained a bit with [Mana Manipulation], and I must say the feeling of letting [Magic Power] flow through my body is incredible. I felt everything around me; I felt alive.

I also reviewed some of my memories about the DxD world.

I wouldn't consider myself a great expert on this world, as I only watched the anime and read a bit of the novel.

Even though the novel is much more complete than the anime, I wonder if this world will follow the novel or the anime more closely.

Although I know about many future events.

For those who haven't read the novel, spoiler alert!

One of the events I think I should prevent the most is the resurrection of Trihexa (666) by Rizevim Livan Lucifer.

Because this is the incident that screws up the world.

After all, to stop Trihexa (666), the main Gods/Leaders of each Mythology had to seal themselves with the beast to prevent destruction, and that was the opportunity for various beings who wanted evil to try to dominate/destroy the world.

The usual villain talk.

After all, Trihexa (666) is the Beast of the Apocalypse described in the Bible, having fought against the God of the Bible who couldn't defeat it, resulting in its sealing by Him at the "End of the World."

A being as strong as Great Red and Ophis.

Rizevim managed to use the [Longinus-class Sacred Gear: Sephiroth Graal], which has the ability to connect to the principle of life, to find the beast.

But I can prevent this if I rescue Valerie, the user of the [Sephiroth Graal], or get rid of Lucifer's son.

I think after that, the most problematic is the God of the Dead, Hades, who formed the Alliance of Hell, a group made up of evil Gods aiming to destroy the main Gods of each mythology, the [Longinus] users, and Ajuka Beelzebub.

But as the saying goes: "Nothing that a Sword of Rupture Ea can't solve."

I think that's how the saying goes.

*KNOCK*KNOCK*

I'm pulled from my thoughts by a knock on the door.

"Are you awake, young master?" I hear a voice ask.

Young master is what the household staff call me, though it's a bit embarrassing.

"Yes. You can come in," I say.

Then the door opens, and an elderly man with the appearance of a butler enters, dressed elegantly in his traditional black uniform. His hair is completely white, as is his impeccable beard. He has visible wrinkles on his gaunt face, which makes him seem kind in appearance, but his eyes are as sharp as an eagle's.

"Good morning, young master," says the man, bowing slightly.

"Good morning to you too, Sebas," I say, remembering who he is.

His name is Sebastian, or Sebas as I call him. From what I know, he's a butler who has worked for my family since I was born in this world. He has always been responsible for me since my parents aren't around much.

But don't be mistaken; my parents love me dearly and are willing to do anything for me. We're a very close family. They just don't have much time to spend with me due to work.

From my memories before reincarnating in this body, Sebas is like a father, more precisely an uncle, to me. He has always taken care of me and helped me a lot.

"You were taking a while, so I came to see what happened," says the butler, looking at me.

It kind of startled me; it felt like he could see my soul!

"Sorry about that, I was thinking," I say, a bit nervous.

"Very well. Breakfast is ready," says Sebas as he leaves the room, and I follow him.

"And your friend is here too," says Sebastian as we walk through the corridors.

Friend?

As far as I remember, I don't have many friends since I spend most of my time at home and also study at home.

When we reach the dining room, which is simply incredible. It's incredibly large and luxurious, with a black table surrounded by numerous chairs.

And the food served on it was also incredible. Around the table were several maids arranging it.

When they noticed me, they stopped what they were doing and bowed.

"Good morning, young master," they all say at the same time.

I've never been so nervous before; it was very strange to see so many people bowing.

"Good morning, everyone," I say as I head toward the table.

"GIL!"

I only hear a shout before a yellow blur crashes into me, making me fall to the floor.

When I manage to get up to see who it is, I see a girl a bit older than me, around nine or ten years old, with blonde hair that falls to her back and large sapphire blue eyes.

Then I remember her name.

Lavinia.

But she can't be *that* Lavinia, can she?!

"Miss Reni, I ask that you release the young master," says Sebas with a smile at the situation.

I can't help but be surprised by who she is.

Lavinia Reni, the Ice Princess.

User of the [Longinus Absolute Demise].

How in the world did my former self meet her?!

But if you think about it, it's not that impossible.

After all, if I remember correctly, Lavinia was born in Italy, and when she was nine or ten, her parents were killed in an accident, and she awakened her Sacred Gear. Then she was found by a witch named Glenda, who took her in and brought her to her organization.

From my memories, my former self met Lavinia one day in a park, and soon after, they became great friends, a sibling-like relationship, though he seemed to have a crush on Lavinia.

And honestly, if she's already this cute now, imagine when she grows up!

Calm down, you're not a pervert!

"It's been a while, Lavinia," I say to her as she lets go of me.

"Yes, it's been a while, Gil, but I already told you to call me Lavi," she says with a cute pout.

I let out a laugh at that.

"So, to what do I owe the visit?" I ask her, as it had been a while since she last visited, according to my memories.

"It's just that Aunt Glenda told me we're going to move," says Lavinia with a sad expression.

My eyes widen.

So that already happened.

I couldn't help but feel powerless. I just reincarnated, and someone precious to me is already suffering.

"But don't worry, Gil, I promise I'll call and visit you. You can come visit me too," says Lavinia with a big, contagious smile before grabbing my hand and starting to run through the house.

All the while, Sebas watched his young master with narrowed eyes.

**A Few Hours Later.**

It had been some time since I talked with Lavinia.

After that, we spent the entire afternoon playing.

I was really sad because I couldn't help Lavinia, and I promised myself that I will protect all the people precious to me, even if I have to fight against all the Factions in the world.

After we played for a while, an old woman came to pick up Lavinia, and she stared at me as if she wanted to see my soul.

Either she suspected my [Sacred Gear], which isn't impossible, since this woman, Glenda, only took Lavinia in to research her Sacred Gear.

The scariest thing was that Sebas was also staring at her murderously; he was one step away from killing someone.

Well, it's been a while since Lavinia left, and I decided to see how the dungeon worked, so I needed a place to test it. That's why I decided to go to the basement of the house, though it was hard to convince Sebas to let me be alone.

Now I'm in the basement, which doesn't really look like one. It's basically a large room full of toys and old objects we don't use anymore.

"System, how do I activate the dungeon?"

[The host must first select which creature will inhabit the dungeon.]

"What are the options, System?"

[The options are as follows:

- Demons.

- Angels.

- Fallen Angels.

- Dragons.

[More options will be unlocked as you progress.]

"I see, basically the main races of DxD."

[Would you like a description, host?]

Hmm, I didn't know there was a description.

"Yes."

[The descriptions are as follows:

- **Demons**: Demons are one of the three main factions in DxD, alongside angels and fallen angels. Demons often have a human appearance, though they have black bat-like wings on their backs. However, there are also demons with a demonic appearance. All demons have enhanced physical abilities, such as superhuman strength, endurance, and heightened senses, such as increased hearing range and vision. Additionally, as creatures of the night, demons have the special ability to see clearly in the dark. Demons also have the ability to fly through their bat-like wings. Demons are also capable of using a type of magical power called Demonic Power to perform various feats. Their greatest weaknesses are Holy Weapons and the Holy Magic of Angels, which can harm them.

- **Angels**: Angels are one of the three factions of DxD, alongside demons and fallen angels. Originating from Heaven, angels are powerful beings who serve the Biblical God and have the power to inflict pain on demons and, by extension, fallen angels due to their light-based powers. Angels look similar to humans, except they have white feathered wings and a halo positioned directly above their heads. All angels have light-based powers that can cause severe damage to demons and fallen angels and can create numerous light-based armaments, such as spears, arrows, swords, a light whip, light balls, and light rings, which can be used to grab, hold, or restrict an enemy.

- **Fallen Angels**: Fallen Angels are one of the three factions of DxD, alongside demons and angels. Fallen angels are angels who fell from God's grace due to having "impure thoughts" that deviate from God's teachings in the Bible. Fallen Angels have an appearance similar to that of Angels with their wings; however, their wings are black in contrast to the white wings of Angels. Additionally, having been expelled from Heaven by God, they also lack halos above their heads. Although expelled from Heaven, Fallen Angels retain the ability to create light-based weapons. This type of armament is extremely harmful and poisonous to demons.

- **Dragons**: Dragons are some of the most powerful and prominent creatures in the DxD world. Dragons are creatures that represent power. As such, in all ages, Dragons are admired, respected, and feared by all. Dragons are beings created from large masses of energy that act freely and selfishly. They have two prominent appearances: Eastern and Western Dragons. The only major weakness of Dragons is weapons with the Dragon Slayer attribute.]

Hmm, I understand now.

And with this description, you can also understand the weaknesses of each race.

System, what are the levels?

[The available levels are:

- Low Class.

- Middle Class.

- High Class.

- Ultimate Class.

- Maou/Seraphim/Cadre Class.]

I see.

And to exit the dungeon?

[To exit the dungeon, the host must meet one of two requirements:

- Kill the Boss.

- Have less than 100 HP.]

I see, so either I kill the boss to exit, or I need to have my health below 100.

What is the Boss?

[A boss, also known as a "chief" or "big boss," is an enemy typically faced at the end of a stage or section of the game and determines progression to the next level. Considering that these enemies are generally stronger than those encountered in previous stages, they are one level above the one the host chooses.]

So if I choose a middle-class dungeon, the boss will be high-class.

I understand.

System, create a middle-class demon dungeon.

[Yes, host.]

[Preparing dungeon...]

Slowly, I see the space around me dissolve before it starts to change.

The terrain, once full of toys and cheerful, transforms into a large corridor of a medieval castle. The walls and floor are made of stone, with large torches on the support columns showing the way. The cracks in the castle's stones, on the walls and floor, seem to be made of pure flowing lava.

[Dungeon prepared.]

[Good luck, host.]

Thank you, System.

I start walking through the corridors calmly, I admit this is very creepy.

I feel a slight change in the magic of this place thanks to the [Mana Manipulation] skill, and looking ahead, I see the cause of it.

From the shadows ahead emerges a large being, about two meters tall. It was completely black, as if made of stone. It had no face, only two flaming holes where its eyes should be, as well as large spikes on its back from which flames emerged, sharp claws, and a kind of boot or piece of armor on its legs.

I can't help but feel a shiver run down my spine; this is really a bit scary.

[Quest Alert]

Hmm, my first mission.

[Demon Hunter]

- Description: Kill 100 Demons.

- Quantity: 000/100.

- Reward: 100,000 Gold, 1,000 Exp, "Eye of God" skill.

Hey, hey, isn't that too much, System?

100 demons.

[No.]

I grumble a bit.

"Alright, let's get started."

I face the demon in front of me, which hasn't moved yet.

[Name: Demon Soldier]

[Level: 16]

[HP: 1,600]

[MP: 300]

I raise an eyebrow; I didn't know I could see this.

But the most concerning thing is its level.

It's much higher than mine; too bad I can't see its attributes.

Looking ahead, I only see the demon disappear.
