Chapter 1 - The Beginning After The End

"Today is the last day…" A white-haired man muttered as he walked through the quiet and lonely throne, his yellow-tinted glasses catching the faint glow of torchlight. His steps echoed against the stone walls as he climbed the grand staircase, eventually settling into the throne at the highest point of the castle. From there, he gazed out at the structure he had spent twelve long years building. A deep sigh escaped his lips.

It had been twelve years since he'd transmigrated into this world—twelve years since that strange encounter with a god changed everything. Twelve years since he first logged into YGGDRASIL and began his relentless grind, carving out a legacy from scratch. He had poured his soul into this virtual world, working nonstop to build a guild on his own, pushing himself to the limit to become the strongest player. Twelve years of focus, sacrifice, and strategy, all to secure his guild a spot in the top ten rankings.

But for what purpose? For this moment. For the chance to finally witness his wishes come to life.

Twelve years ago, he died saving a little girl—an act of bravery that turned out to be more significant than he ever imagined. The girl, as it turned out, was the daughter of a god. Grateful for the man's sacrifice, the divine being offered him three wishes. However, this god wasn't omnipotent, not some limitless force, so the he had to choose wisely.

His first wish wasn't even counted. He expressed a desire to enter the Overlord universe—a world which he would be able to make an overpowered hax character—and the god, amused and perhaps sympathetic, granted it freely. The god explained that wish-granters were often hunted by dark forces if they didn't become strong enough to protect themselves. That warning set the tone for everything that followed.

And so, every one of his remaining wishes was devoted to one goal: to become overpowered.

Wish 1. His first wish was simple but vital—he asked for complete knowledge of everything related to YGGDRASIL. Every hidden mechanic, obscure job class, and secret reward. Every dungeon, exploit, and progression path. With that knowledge, he had the power to build the strongest and most optimized avatar possible, down to the last detail. It was the foundation of everything he had went on to achieve in the game.

Wish 2. For his second wish, he requested the removal of his physical and mental limits. The Overlord universe's version of Earth was polluted far beyond the earth in his time, yet he needed to survive and thrive there. His body was now capable of withstanding extreme environmental hazards, while his mind operated on a level that allowed him to learn, adapt, and strategize far beyond normal human capability. Within YGGDRASIL, this gave him an unmatched edge. He didn't just play to win—he absorbed the game like a second nature, evolving faster than anyone else.

Wish 3. His final wish was for the means to travel across the multiverse in search of greater power. But this wish carried something more. To ensure he remained unrivaled, he requested that the usual blessings of companions, guild members, and NPC followers be denied to him. Why he made that final clause… well, that would clear soon..

He sighed lightly as he looked around the guild. Just finding this place had been a pain—the long search, the endless grinding, the frustration of unlocking layer after layer of requirements. It hadn't been easy. And defeating the boss monster that guarded this guild? That had been a pain too—an exhausting, drawn-out battle that pushed him to his limits. Defending this place, though… that had been the worst of all. Thousands of players had come for it, wave after wave, each one eager to claim what he had built. And he had stood alone against them all. It was a pain—every moment of it—but he did it.

After all, he was a World Enemy.

What was a World Enemy? In YGGDRASIL, it was a special title—one reserved for the most dangerous boss monsters in the game. Anything with the word "World" in it—whether it was an NPC, a skill, or an item—meant it was beyond normal. It meant it was overpowered in every sense of the word.

Even if thirty full parties of level 100 players joined forces, each one fully prepared, equipped with top-tier gear, and warned in advance of what they were facing, even then, the outcome of the battle against a World Enemy would still be uncertain. That was the kind of existence it described—something beyond the boundaries of balance.

The game's level cap was 100. Yet, World Enemies didn't follow that rule. Even the weakest of them exceeded that limit. And the strongest World Enemy? That was him.

There was a way—a method involving a rare World Item—to turn oneself into a World Enemy. He had done just that, and by doing so becoming the first player to become a world enemy, and also become a dragon, which wasn't amongst the races that could be played. He had become the strongest World Enemy in YGGDRASIL.

Overpowered, right?

These were his stats: while most players struggled to get even a single stat into the triple digits, the so-called World Champions—the best of the best—were known for managing three, maybe four stats over 100. That was the peak for nearly everyone.

But him? Every single one of his stats had broken past the 100 mark. Not just that—five of them had surpassed 200.

Overpowered, right?

That was because he didn't start like everyone else. He began the game as a lizard. Why? Because he already knew the exact path to evolve into the strongest race in the game. It wasn't a glamorous start. He met the requirements, selected the race, and began his journey—weak, vulnerable, and overlooked. He spent time sealed in an egg, unable to move or act, just observing and waiting. Then came the struggle of being a hatchling—small, frail, easy prey. But he endured.

He pushed through every hardship, climbing from the bottom with purpose, because he knew where it would lead. Every moment was calculated.

Of course, none of it would have worked without his foundation. Before this new start, before becoming an egg, he had already been a World Champion—the strongest in YGGDRASIL. That legacy hadn't just vanished. It gave him the resources, items, and safeguards he needed to survive during the early phases of his transformation. He laid low, protected what mattered, and slowly reclaimed everything he had lost—then surpassed it.

Overpowered wasn't just a title. It was earned. Every step, every decision had led to this.

"Thirty more seconds until the game shuts down," he said lightly.

His voice was calm, but beneath that calmness, he was restless. Part of him couldn't sit still. Deep down, a small part of him still hoped that the remaining players would rally for one final assault. A last desperate clash to go out with a bang. The last time they had tried that, they had nearly destroyed his guild. It had been just him against more than 3,000 players.

Yes, his guild had the best defensive systems available—layers of traps, ambush points, and randomized monster spawns built into every corridor. It was a fortress designed for war. But even all of that hadn't been enough when faced with a siege of that scale. Three thousand players, all working together for the single goal of taking down the strongest player.

He had survived. Barely. But not by accident.

As a World Enemy, he possessed immunity to all World Weapons—something that most players relied on in high-level raids. And not only was he immune, but he was also armed to the teeth with World Weapons himself. Every piece of his gear was top-tier. The guild itself? A World Weapon. Even the throne he sat on right now—that was a World Weapon too.

Every trap laid throughout the guild? World Weapons. The item responsible for passively spawning monsters throughout the structure? Also a World Weapon.

And those monsters? Even the weakest of them—randomly generated and dropped into the halls without warning—were level 96.

He needed the best of the best if he ever hoped to stay in the top ten rankings. Without that level of power, his guild would've collapsed years ago under the constant assaults from rival players. The defenses, the gear, the traps, the monsters—every detail mattered. Without them, he wouldn't have lasted.

By the way, his in-game avatar name was X.

He had modeled his character after X from To Be Hero X. He always thought the guy looked cool, so he shaped his appearance to match—white hair, yellow glasses, same sharp look. It fit the image he wanted, and it stuck.

With a slow breath, he closed his eyes and waited for the shutdown.

The experience had been fun. Truly fun. Living in this VR world… it wasn't just about reading books or watching the anime anymore. He had lived it. Every fight, every choice, every victory had been real to him. And now, it was over.

Now, it was time to live it all out in the real world.

The game shut down.

A second passed.

Then, unexpectedly, a new screen flickered into view before him.

X stared at the screen for a moment before reaching out and selecting the world he wanted to go to next. There was no system guiding him—no divine interface or player perk. This wasn't some personal ability of his.

It was the guild.

His guild was a World Item. One of the rarest in YGGDRASIL. Not just a fortress or a base—it had the power to travel across the Nine Realms. It was also the largest guild in the game.

Take Nazarick, for example. That guild only had ten floors. His own, known as Valhalla, had seventeen. Of course, when X had first discovered and cleared the dungeon, it hadn't been that large. Back then, it only had ten floors, same as Nazarick. But once he conquered it, he made some changes—expanding its layout, upgrading its functions, and reshaping it into the colossal stronghold it was now.

As the space around him began to warp, X let out a soft sigh. He could feel the shift—the way the guild twisted space and time as it moved toward the new world.

And in that moment, his thoughts drifted back to the god. The conversation they'd had still lingered in his mind.

"So, my third wish is to be able to travel the multiverse—and not randomly," he said, looking directly at the god seated across from him. "The Overlord verse is cool and all, but it's not strong enough if I really want to protect myself. So… what I'm saying is, I wish to travel the multiverse with my guild."

The god rested his chin on one hand, an expression of thoughtfulness forming across his face.

"If your goal is true power—power to protect yourself—then why not reset your level?" the god offered. "That way, you could regain your strength without being limited by the game's rules. You'd be free to learn and grow from both inside and outside the game."

That made him pause. He thought it over for a moment, weighing the idea carefully.

"In that case," he said slowly, "could I also have it so that… anyone who joins my guild becomes loyal? Maybe it could be something that comes with the guild ability to travel the multiverse?"

He asked softly, testing the boundaries of the wish.

The god's wife, who had been silently listening until now, finally spoke. "That's stretching that third wish a little, don't you think?"

He nodded after a moment, accepting the pushback. "Alright, then what's the trade-off? I can't create NPCs or have anyone join my guild at all? Is that the cost?"

"That, plus have your guild ranked in the top ten by the time the game shuts down," she said, her tone calm but final. "Do that… and your wish will be granted."

He lowered his head slightly in gratitude.

"Thank you."

***

X stepped outside of his guild.

The place was known as Valhalla, but the guild itself carried a different name—Dravak UI'Seryn. That was also the name he went by now. When creating his avatar, he hadn't chosen a name right away. Nothing had come to mind at the time, so he'd simply decided to give his guild the name he eventually settled on for himself.

Dravak.

He stood still for a moment, then turned to glance back at the guild behind him. As expected, it had already vanished. Valhalla was no ordinary place—it was once Odin's resting grounds, and like many things tied to myth and power, it couldn't be reached through ordinary means. No one could simply walk up to it or stumble upon it.

To even approach it, one had to complete three difficult steps:

First, locate it. As it existed in another dimension, it was hard to sense, it also moved around at the orders of it's owner.

Second, uncover the method required to summon it into the current plane of existence. As it existed in another dimension, and could be considered a dimension of its own, summoning it required one to match the wave length of it, which was hard since it would change it to protect itself.

But once all that was done, Only then, and only if those conditions were met, could try and enter, which was its own risk if one didn't have the ring of Dravak.
