I made myself to the second bedroom, and laid myself down.
There were two beds in the second bedroom, so Christian would probably end up sleeping on the other bed. That's none of my concerns though.
I slowly started to drift off to sleep, all the past events of today replaying in my head.
Luckily, we actually found Ruby.
But I still couldn't go to sleep at peace. Nicole was still out there, god knows where and with who. I was glad we found Ruby, but I can't be bothered by this more. He was alone.
7:45AM
I woke up, falling on the ground, with a thud.
"Ow—" I groaned, getting up. I let my eyes adjust, as I sat down on the bed.
I saw Christian on the other bed, soundly asleep. Not annoying, no snarky expression, but just peacefully enjoying his slumber.. it was weird to see him so peaceful first hand. I snapped out of thought, looking around the room. There was nothing around the really boring old room. I made my way to the bathroom, washing up my face.
I made my way out of the room, and saw Ruby on the couch, and Maverick rummaging through the fridge. Ruby turned around after hearing me exit the room, and smiled at me.
I smiled back, walking towards her. I sat down on the couch, next to her.
"Hey. You're up early." I said, relaxing myself against the couch.
"Yeah. I couldn't sleep that well due to my injuries." She implied.
I simply nodded. It must be tough for her.
"By the way we need to go back to the other building. Long story short, I met someone while we were separated, she's really nice. Her name is Rexine." I listened to Ruby, intently.
"I see. . alright. We can go back now too? We can pick up some snacks from the ca—" I got cut off by that blueberry head.
"Hey! Can I go too? Please, I'm so hungry!! The pickle jar in here is expired, please. . ." He complained, begging from the kitchen, going through the fridge.
"Yeah, sure you can come too." I replied. Ruby seemed ok with it, not too enthusiastic, though. She didn't say anything, but just stood up, so did I. Me, Ruby and Maverick went down to the car. Once I opened the truck, my jaw dropped. Holy mother of— I forgot about the cat. Shoot.
"...." I took the cat in my hands, and petted it a few times. I named it Friday in the car a while ago, I didn't mention it to anyone though. It meowed at me, and I felt so bad I totally forgot about the poor thing. Ruby took the food bag, and I took the extra 2 jackets I bough— no stole, along with two shirts. I closed the trunk, still with the cat in my hands.
"Hey, blueberry hair, me and Ruby are going to go to that other building so could you go back up with this stuff? I'll take the cat." he seemed to be a little hesitant at first, but he agreed and carried a backpack and clothes in his hand.
Me and Ruby went to that building, and I let her lead the way.
We went to the 25th floor, and room 257.
She opened it casually with a key and she called out the name 'Rexine' like she told me earlier. An unfamiliar figure came out the door.
She looked exactly like. . Maverick. Despite her brown skin. She had the exact colour of blue as her hair, same eyes. She had brown skin and her hair was curly. She was slightly taller than Ruby. She was quite pretty.
She hugged Ruby after seeing her, and then whispered something to her. But I was too busy petting Friday as they were talking.
"Rexine, this is Perry." She introduced.
"Perry, this is Rexine." I turned to her, with a slight smile. She smiled back.
"Nice to meet you." I said softly.
"Pleasure to meet your acquaintance." She smiled at me, and approached me.
"And who's this little guy?~" she came closer and petted Friday. Friday meowed and she seemed to like Rexine.
"Her name is Friday." He kept petting the cat, and seemed very enthusiastic about her. I let Rexine carry her for a try, and Friday seemed content with it. But Rexine was pulled aside by Ruby, so I waited with Friday for them to finish talking.
She nodded at Ruby's words, and when they came back to me, Ruby smiled.
"Let's go back to the others, now." She suggested. I nodded, and Rexine also came along. It was silent all the way back to the other building, except some chatter among Ruby and Rexine. They seemed pretty close.
Once we made it back, Maverick and Christian were eating. Rexine was too busy with the cat to realise the other two, but maverick on the other hand noticed us immediately and he seemed surprised.
"Rex?!" He yelled out. Rexine looked up from the cat and saw Maverick.
"MAVE!!" She yelled back. She ran to Maverick and hugged him. He looked squashed.. I feel bad for him.
A while passed, and Maverick and Rexine were 2 out of 3. In other words, they were triplets, but got separated. The other one was a girl named Ivy.
They said that during the zombie apocalypse, Ivy was on a school camping trip on the opposite side of Seoul from where they were. And Maverick was at a friend's place which was fairly far away if it were on foot. So Rexine was alone at home at the time because their parents were overseas.
5:12PM.
Everyone was getting along pretty well, me and Rexine got along pretty well as well as me with Maverick.
Ruby and Christian were talking, and Rexine with Maverick. I was laying on my proclaimed bed in the second bedroom with Friday. I sighed. Everything that's happened in the past two days, it's going so fast. Meeting Maverick, finding Ruby, and meeting Rexine.
Maverick isn't a bad guy, but he talks alot and he's always cheerful. . which isn't a bad thing, of course. And Rexine is really pretty, and has a good personality too. She's like a mother type of friend.
Though on another topic, I wonder what Nicole's doing. I miss him, I hope he's doing alright. I really wonder where he is. I'm determined to find him, even if it's his corpse.
