Chapter 30 - CHAPTER 30

I spoke again, this time to the blueberry heads. "Well.. that aside for now, we should get you out of this place—" I got cut off. And not with a pleasant or expected sound.

The sound of the front door opening while we were right in front of it. We all went silent. They turned the doorknob.. but it was locked. We had time. To run.

Guess they all had the same idea, since we started trying to make it upstairs silently. It was silent for a few more seconds as we made it upstairs, and we hid in someone's room I believe in Rexines, closest to the staircase. We locked the door, and caught our breath.. as we heard the keys dangling outside the front door.

They came inside, and we all were dead silent. All we could hear was the keys dangling.. then they got placed down somewhere, and judging from the footsteps, there were a few people. The footsteps faded as we heard them walk into the living room opposite from us. I let out an exhale, I didn't know I was holding for a fairly long time. I walked to the center of the room, looking around.

Pretty cool, I gotta admit. Anime posters, all around. And a custom designed skateboard.. damn.

I sat down in a gaming chair he had near his desk, spinning side to side slightly. I leaned back, looking at the other in the room. Christian leaning on a wall near me, Nicole sitting fairly away from ivy, on mavericks bed next to Ruby.

Rexine and Maverick were sitting on the other side on the bed, opposite to Ruby and Nicole. Ivy sat on the ground, with her legs crossed. No one said a word, I could feel the tension growing thicker by the second. But I knew no one would risk talking, not right now. I'm definitely not either.

I sighed, leaning my head back, resting my head and closing my eyes. That was until I heard a thud. I opened my eyes, and Christian was on the floor, face flat. I got a bit irritated, considering we were definitely NOT in terms of talking, furthermore, falling down. He got up and no one said a word, but I.. snapped.

"Wow... Good job, shitty hair. You just gave us out!" I said in a fairly irritated tone. He glared at me, as I spoke. He scoffed, closing his eyes in irritation.

"Not my fault, and you're the one talking, idiot." He replied, with a scowl on his face. He seriously did not. Just. Say that.

I raised an eyebrow, my irritation only growing stronger.

"Uh huh.. like they can hear us. But that thud? They definitely heard that." I said, it was so tempting to just punch him and shut his pretty little mouth. He crossed his arms over his chest, leaning on a wall.

"Yeah, but you didn't have to say anything. When you start, your mouth will not stop, it's annoying." He growled, in a slightly quieter tone.

"Excuse me, and says you. You don't ever like to shut up either, so you're one to talk." I said, looking away, my blood seriously boiling at this guy's words. Christian looked like he was about to beat someone senseless. I probably looked like the prey, in this case. But before he could snap at me, Nicole chimed in.

"You guys seriously can't go a few days without arguing, can you? You probably fought everyday while I was gone. I don't understand how you guys can even make eye contact without saying some insensitive shit to each other."

He said, which basically shut both us up. I sighed, looking at Nicole, then glancing at Christian.. then looking away.

Well, it's not my fault he's a jerk plus, I'm not letting him win any argument. We've barely even got to finish one, due to Ruby and Nicole stopping us each time.. but last time we did finish one, it definitely didn't end nicely. Blood sweat and tears were put into it.. mostly blood and sweat, no tears but that's besides the point.

Ruby spoke to Nicole next, with a slight chuckle. "Imagine while I was gone too. Did you guys get into a fist fight? I don't believe you didn't." Chuckles were heard from everyone in the room, as I looked away a little embarrassed. Yeah, I guess it's surprising we didn't.. but given the situation at the time I don't think we really could. Christian spoke up.. I could see him blushing slightly.

"Not like we had a choice. If we got into a fist fight, I could've killed her, and the last thing was wanting to be alone. But I'm reconsidering it.. if it means being alone with that coward, I think I would've rather been alone." He said, and I scoffed, unamused.

"As if. You wouldn't have the guts to kill me. Kill anyone, as a matter of fact." I replied, which was probably true enough to be stated. He rolled his eyes, scoffing slightly annoyed. He turned to me, staring dead into my eyes. I didn't bat an eye and stared back.

"That's what you think. You wouldn't have said that If I showed you, would you?" He replied, which.. caught me off guard. Everyone else was silent, a bit too much for some reason. But me and Christian were too busy, we continued holding eye contact, I can't just let him win this argument.

"Yeah? I would, because you quite obviously can't kill someone. You wouldn't dare." I replied, as I stood up from the chair, crossing my arms and not breaking eye contact for a second. But before we could continue.. we felt everyone glaring at us. Not uncommon for the both of us, if I do say so myself, but it was a different kind of staring. Awkwardly, almost. Me and Christian both broke eye contact at the same time, turning to the others in the room.

Wow.. guess we were so busy arguing we hadn't realized the door was open, with someone standing there, with a slightly amused expression. He looked like one of the guys Ivy explained.. Damian guy, I presume. Dark blue hair, and grey eyes. We heard someone else's footsteps coming up the stairs, they called out to the guy standing in front of the door.

"Damian~ what are you doing up there?" She called out, innocently. I stood silently.

"Who are these fellas..?" She said as she arrived at the door. It was.. Emily. Light blue haired girl. I know I've met them before. It's clicking something, but I don't know what. She glanced around the room, then her eyes fell on Ivy. Her whole expression darkened, as she spoke coldly this time.

"Oh Ivy.. what are you doing out of the basement? Thought we came to an agreement?" She said in a mocking pouty tone. Ivy glared at her, with a fairly cold expression.

"If anything I refused, b1tch." Ivy replied, rolling her eyes. Emily growled, looking mad now.

"Don't you start. I'll beat you senseless I swear to god.." emily replied. But Damian, who stood beside Emily watching the interaction, spoke up.

"Woah, woah, guys let's tone it down a bit shall we? There's no need to get physical." He said, in a carefree, and light-hearted tone. He seemed overly carefree, and teasing.. even with his enemies. If you know, you know.

Emily glared at him before sighing and stomping off. He spoke again.

"Come on, why don't we all settle down in the living room?" He said turning around and going down the stairs.

We followed behind as we walked ourselves into the living room following Damian. There sat on the couch, Emily, Alice, Millie and now Damian. ..there was supposed to be one more, if I remember correctly what Ivy told me. They all seemed nice, and they all looked familiar.. I still can't seem to remember when we met them.

But, I noticed Damian seemed to look at me, more than he had to. Not in a creepy way, but he seems intrigued. Guess Christian noticed, since he scoffed softly and rolled his eyes.

As the others were talking, I spaced out.. I wasn't really paying attention. But, I snapped out when I heard the front door opening again. I turned my head, and my eyes widened. Ah.. now I remember.

Damian spoke. "Oh, that must be-" I cut him off, whispering to myself. "Nathan.."

But how....?
