"The audacity to hit us.. seriously?" Ruby said with an unamused scoff. But they didn't give us any more time to react to their next move.
Nathan was at Nicole's window, knocking aggressively. Nicole jumped a little bit at that sound, looking at Nathan. Nicole glanced at me, and I shook my head.
"I don't think it's a good idea to open the window.." I said, to Nicole who nodded in agreement.
"Why don't we just drive away..? I mean our van is completely fine, if anything they'll have trouble driving." Maverick suggested, cocking his head to the side. I turned back.. I was going to say something but Nathan was still waiting outside impatiently. So really, there was nothing to go back and forth about right now.
I nodded silently and silently hit the gas. I checked behind as I drove away, and Nathan was just standing there, as I saw Emily get out of the car. As they both got back in the car, I pressed down harder, going over 80kmph. I just wanted to lose them already, so I stepped even harder, before slowing down and making a left turn, straight and then another left turn. I went basically zig zag, this way it'd be hard for them to find us even if they know which way we went.
"Damn girl, I gotta give it to you for those driving skills." Rexine said with an amused smile. Christian beside her scoffed, and Ruby stifled a laugh.
"Thanks. Though I'm pretty sure my drivers license is currently expired." I said. I didn't think it was a very big deal, since well... We're currently still alive. But.. apparently not.
"WHAT!?" Ruby yelled, in shock. She almost immediately got up and stood up holding the head rest of Nicole's seat.
"WAIT... Woah... Seriously?!" She said again, this time trying to calm herself down. But Christian stepped in, and I can't believe I'm saying this but.. thankfully.
"Yeah, yeah alright her driver's license is expired, but the rest of us here only have a drivers license permit.. so it's better than having people who don't even have a real drivers license drive.." Christian stated, which was surprisingly accurate for a guy with the brain size of an atom. Nicole chuckled, and Ruby just huffed.
I kept on driving, still occasionally checking behind to make sure Nathan wasn't following.
And thankfully no sign of another car. I slowed down just very slightly, going slightly below the speed limit. Not that it was important, though. I kept my focus on the road, as I did I saw a zombie in the middle of the road. I was going too fast, and considering the distance it was impossible to just hit the brakes. And well... I ran over the zombie, which made crunching sounds...
"Why the hell did you do that, shitty face??" Christian said with a slight frown on his face. I sighed.
"What do you mean?" I asked calmly. He seemed upset with me running over the zombie.
"That, you ran over a zombie! And it sure as hell made a loud noise." He said arguing. Seriously he can't go a day without fighting with me, can he?
I replied, "Well, I couldn't stop in time, alright??"
"You could've at least swerved to the other lane! We'll just be a zombie magnet if they heard it." He scowled, rolling his eyes.
"Jesus.. it was just a zombie, shitty hair." I said, scoffing slightly.
"Yeah, just one.. one that'll get us the entire crowd." He claimed. Seriously.. I can't even ignore this guy, he'll just get even more annoyed.
"Bullshit, there's barely any zombies in this area." I replied. Which was true. If you looked around, you could only see a few here and there, not like where we were before.
He scowled at me again, clearly with an unpleasant expression. "Yeah, yeah sure... Just don't tell me I didn't tell you so when they appear out of all corners left and right.."
I rolled my eyes, but stayed silent. If I argued any further, it'd just get worse and worse by every word.
"Do these two EVER chill?" Ivy asked. While me and Christian stayed silent, Ruby and Nicole shook their heads.
"Nope. They're a perfect resemblance of Tom and Jerry." Nicole stated, and Ruby laughed, but agreed.
"Yeah. Every week, every day. The maximum time they went without fighting after they met was 2 hours, and that was because one was asleep." Ruby said. I could feel my cheeks flush slightly. But nonetheless what they both said was true. But I can't help it when he's always a jackass.
"So basically every conversation they have is an argument?" Maverick guessed, and sure enough he was mostly right.
"Accurate." Ruby replied, and Rexine chuckled.
"It must be a pain stopping them each and every time.. huh?" Rexine assumed... Accurately.
"Yeah, definitely I'll give you that." Ruby said, leaning back in her seat relaxing. Did they really have to talk about us? I mean.. I guess it could get intriguing especially when two people fight so much and you don't even know how two people can fight that much.. I don't know myself, it just happens.
Christian spoke up this time, with an irritated tone. "Could you guys drop the conversation about us? It's not even that pleasant of a conversation." He frowned slightly again.
"I mean not really. I find it pretty interesting how you guys CAN fight so much.. like.. how do you do that??" Maverick chimed in again.
"I don't know, it's kind of impressive, even.." Rexine added.
Honestly... I decided to not listen anymore and continue driving. But, that was before we all heard a meow from the trunk. Shit.. I totally forgot about Friday. Maverick took her out of the trunk by bending over and taking her in his hands. Maverick passed it over to me, by Christian. She sat on my lap peacefully as I drove, and she laid down comfortably.
Nicole chuckled. "Got a new companion, huh? What's her name?" He asked.
"Her name's Friday.. suits, right?" I asked. Nicole smiled and nodded.
"Yeah, definitely it does." Nicole replied. I smiled. I stayed quiet, glancing down at the cat laying on my lap peacefully. I looked back up, and kept driving silently. After a few minutes, it got up, sitting up straight, in between my arms. But it made a weird face. And not too long after it made the face, it started hissing while looking forward at the road.
I raised an eyebrow and Nicole tried to calm it down, but it didn't. She kept hissing almost non stop. Was she seeing something we all weren't?
