Mavericks pov:
My eyes finally adjusted to the dark.. mostly and i managed to make out where the drawers of the desk were. I opened one, trying to make out anything that could be batteries. nevermind dudes.. I give up. maybe i'll just use this see in the dark setting usefully. I looked around, and to my left I could make out a couch, thankfully. I'm tired of standing. I walked over carefully, but when I arrived at it I saw its light coloured stained with something much much darker in colour.. yeah i'm not that tired of standing anyway...
The room wasn't very big, but not very small either.. and I'm starting to wish it was smaller. I mean what if my sleep paralysis demon appears? I'll just have to be running in circles without having the freedom to scream for help. Damn, this kind of sucks, and being sneaky is no joke. I mean, ninjas seem to be way inhumanly good at it.
Perry's pov:
The second floor was no luck either, so we went back down. There weren't many zombies on the way down or on the first floor. Where could he be? I mean we've checked nearly every room. We decided to go back to the apartment we settled in, to take a quick rest. We walked our way over to the apartment, and walked in. Once we all got back in the apartment, we settled on the couch and put the flashlight on the coffee table, the light flashing at the ceiling.
Although, before anyone could say anything, the front door creaked wide open. no idea who it was, but i knew one thing for sure. They were too tall to be Maverick. But, before I could point that out, Rexine spoke.
"Maverick? Is that you?" She said slightly relieved, but that changed quite fast when Nicole picked up the flashlight and flashed it at the person standing in the doorway. Nathan. I froze up, completely. before anyone could react.. What Nathan did next shook us all.
"Looking for your blueberry friend?" he said in a cold and almost intimidating tone. Next thing you knew, he held up Maverick, tied up, mouth gagged shut and probably sedated. He was unconscious. Rexine seemed genuinely enraged, and horrified at the same time. but ivy, who stood in front of me, looked.. almost relieved looking at the tied up and unconscious boy. what she did next though.. oh boy.
she tugged hard on her hair, and off came a wig. What we saw next was some random red haired woman. Rexine froze. The rest of us just stared in surprise and pretty much shock. Because.. What the heck? The woman smirked cockily before walking towards Nathan, and then turned to us before speaking in a deeper voice than we've heard from her before.
"Don't worry, Your blueberry sister is safe.." she said with a wide smirk and arrogant tone. Rexine looked absolutely livid out of her mind. I mean, I don't blame her. Not at all. She took a silent step forward. She spoke in a low voice... Almost intimidating tone.
"Lies.. no one is safe with you assholes." She stated. That definitely wasn't a lie. Ruby, concerned for her friend, stepped forward and placed a hand on Rexine's shoulder, and shook her head as a gesture to be cautious. Which was the right thing to do. I mean, we have no idea what these people have up their sleeve.
Rexine's eye softened ever so slightly, and she turned her head back over to the other two, then at Maverick who was still unconscious, being held sloppily by Nathan. She sighed.. and reluctantly stepped back. The red haired woman turned around, to leave.. I assumed. Although, before Nathan could do the same, from the kitchen passed a figure, snatching Maverick off of Nathan's hands. Christian. Speaking of that shithead, I didn't see him after Nathan showed himself... Guess he was planning some super stupid attack which just happened to work. Nathan reacted fairly fast, though.
He ran after Christian, and this dude started running with Maverick in his hands. We all only managed to watch, not saying a word. We both dashed across the room in circles, before the red haired woman managed to react... Like after Nathans and Christians 2nd round around the room. She joined in, trying to block Christian's way.
"That woman's reaction time is kind of late..." Ruby said, sounding pretty dumbfounded by it. She wasn't lying though, that's for sure. Before long though, Christian ran OUT of the apartment. And... I guess he expected us follow, considering he yelled,
"WHY ARE YOU GUYS JUST WATCHING?!?" He yelled, running out of the apartment. We ran after him.. now all four of us are running away from Nathan and the red haired woman.. who were right on our tail. But.. I guess all of us forgot zombies were attracted to sound. And Christians yelling made that activate. and none of us noticed the zombies until Nicole yelled further..
"SHIT SHIT SHIT! THEY'RE RIGHT BEHIND US!!.." he said, pretty frightened, trying to run faster.. as he was at the very back. Well I guess the good news was that the zombies were directly behind Nathan and the red haired woman, not us.. but now we were running from two things; Nathan and his companion, plus the zombies.
"WHO?!?! THE ZOMBIES OR THE ASSHOLES?!" Ruby yelled back at Nicole, with the same energy... Sigh, these two.
"BOTH!!" Nicole yelled, catching up with Ruby who was behind me. I started running faster, and managed to catch up with Christian. We just ran in awkward silence beside each other, Nicole and Ruby behind us. I managed to spot a slightly open room, and tapped Christians shoulder, and pointed to the room. He scowled slightly but didn't protest. I barged into the room, and let Christian in first, and Ruby and Nicole saw our plan as well, and ran in as well. I shut the door quickly, quickly enough so that the other two couldn't enter.
We all were panting, obviously. We caught our breath, and took a look around first. It was an empty apartment, and we were in the living room. Christian laid Maverick's body on the coffee table, and sat down on the couch, trying to relax a little... If that was possible. But once we settled a little, we noticed something. It was only the five of us. Me, Christian, Nicole, Ruby and Maverick.
"Hey.. has anyone seen Rexine?" Nicole spoke up. We all shook our heads.
"No.. I haven't since we started running off." Ruby said. I nodded and Christian also agreed.
"Yeah, me neither." Christian replied. We all sat in silence, like pin drop silence... But that didn't last very long, as the silence broke to a door creak which was fairly loud..
