I instinctively held Nicole behind me. As they showed themselves.. no way. Light blue hair.. yellow eyes, light skin.. straight hair.. freckles.. Ivy.. that they were talking about? The 3rd triplet..? I heard Maverick and Rexine rush down, glancing at Nicole behind me, then at Ivy.. I returned close back to Ruby and Christian with Nicole. We all hugged him, talking a little before being interrupted by Rexine and Maverick. They looked speechless.. looking at Ivy.. with a look of disgust. The four of us decided it would be best we left.. so, we climbed up the stairs to the living room, and made ourselves to the door. I turned the doorknob.. it was locked..? When did they lock the door..?
I turned around to the sound of Rexine and maverick. Rexine had tears in her eyes, while Maverick seemed.. upset, to say the least. They walked up to us at the front door and looked at us.. with a guilty expression. "Hey... We're really sorry... I didn't mean for my sister to kidnap your friend. We didn't even know she did that, to be fair. I never thought she out of all people would do that.." Rexine explained to us.
Nicole stood behind Christian, and I stood beside ruby In front of them both. I looked at Rexine, then and maverick. Then I turned my gaze to Ruby, who was also glancing at me. I looked back at the two, followed with a soft sigh. "Well... You guys may be innocent, sure.. but right now.. we can't risk anything. We just got a fellow friend back after like three to four weeks.." i explained. Rexine and Maverick seemed to nod, understandingly. I gave a slight soft smile, but it faded, quickly..
I turned around without another word.. but then turned back. "By the way.. which one of you locked the door..?" I asked, looking at them intently waiting for an answer.
"Wasn't u-" she was cut off shortly by... Ivy. They both turned around, and icy was standing with her arms crossed over her chest and a fairly irritated expression mixed with.. some other emotion.
"I did. I locked the door." She said, her tone blunt and pretty cold. She took a few steps near Maverick and Rexine, but they stepped back.. with disgust in their eyes..? Ivy stood still, waiting for an answer.
Maverick spoke up, with a slightly shaky voice. "Why... Why would you do this? Just to find a cure? You'd do this to a human? I don't get it, Ivy..." Maverick spoke with sorrow, mixed with disgust.
My head immediately turned to Ivy. To look for a cure? Torture and experiment on humans? Did it have to be Nicole specifically? Just to find a cure, that's insane..
Ivy looked at us all.. with a slightly guilty.. look? I crossed my arms waiting for a response. She spoke up, her tone a little guilty, she looked away. "I.. I was forced." She managed to blurt out. I raised an eyebrow.
"And by who? There's no one here except us." I replied harshly. She looked at me, and then looked away again. I narrowed my eyes, looking her up and down. She wasn't half bad looking, it was a shame.
"There's... There's an organization... Or maybe well basically, a group of a few young adults." She spoke up. We all stayed silent. Ruby crossed her arms.
"Go on.." she said, suspecting Ivy with narrow eyes.. but intrigued.
"They... Well when the apocalypse started around 2 months ago, I was at camp and all.. and the news didn't reach any teachers, nor students. So when we came back to Seoul, I took a bus back home.. but when I saw those zombies while outside.. I freaked out and made a mistake of slamming the door of this house.. attracting alot of attention.. and next thing i knew, the zombies started all gathering at the door." She explained,
As we all listened attentively. "And once the zombies eventually broke in, I was cornered. But.. Some duo came to save me. A girl with dark brown hair and hazel eyes. The other girl has light blue hair and light pink highlights in her hair." She continued on. My expression softened.. it didn't seem like she was lying at all. "And well.. after they managed to kill the few zombies, some other three that looked around 20-23 years old came in. They all introduced themselves.. but when I thanked them and tried to leave.. They stopped me. They said I could join their team and help them.. and when they told me that they were going to experiment on humans I refused.. but they didn't listen and basically forced me into slavery here." I listened. I sighed, leaning on a wall.. at this point i was a little tired, both mentally and physically.
"How.. What did they look like? How many were there.. and do you know their names?" I asked, clumping all the questions into one sentence. I wanted to know who these people were, kidnapping innocent people and zombies just to find a cure. I mean I guess the zombies are ok, but innocent human lives are definitely not.
Ivy thought for a few moments, before speaking. "Well.. there were 5. Three females and two males. One of the males rarely showed themselves in this house. One girl's name was Emily.. with light blue hair and green eyes. The dark brown haired girl had a pixie cut, and her name was... Alice, if I remember correctly, she had hazel eyes. Then there was.. Millie.. long off white, light yellowish hair, and blue eyes. And then.. one of the males was.. Damian. He had dark blue hair and grey eyes. There was another male.. I don't remember hearing his name, but he had black hair, and dark brown eyes. He was a really cold and distant one." She claimed, looking at us, now
Listening in now, those names and appearances sounded pretty familiar, but I seriously couldn't put my finger on it. I spaced out for a moment, trying my actual hardest to remember where I had seen or heard those names and appearances. I had been thinking real hard, and guess it showed on my face from how Nicole approached me.
"You ok, Perry? You seem in thought.. what's up?" He asked. Well if anything, if I can remember or find these details familiar, there's no way they don't, right?
"...I'm fine. But.. ruby, Christian, doesn't that click something? Like ringing a bell, at all? Those names.. and appearances." They looked at me. Christian had his usual annoying expression, and ruby seemed in thought for a few seconds before she spoke up.
"No.. I don't find it ringing a bell anywhere, unfortunately.." she replied. I turned my gaze to Christian who then spoke.
"Actually.. It does. It does sound oddly familiar. A bit too much, it's annoying.. I can't really put my finger on it." He responded.. averting his gaze from the ground to me, and then Nicole. Ivy, Rexine and Maverick all were listening while we spoke, with neutral expressions.
I spoke again, this time to the blueberry heads. "Well.. that aside for now, we should get you out of this place—" I got cut off. And not with a pleasant or expected sound.
