The being had jagged teeth that protruded from its wolf jaws. Bat-like wings were attached to its back.
Its crimson eyes locked onto Levi with greed.
"You can't be looking at me that way," Levi said with a smile.
As he spoke, a black sword began to form in his hand.
The being stood up from its throne, easily overshadowing Levi. It stood at over 8 feet, with knees bent inwards like a wolf's.
Without warnings or words, it lunged. Its claws stretched forward as it slashed at Levi's neck.
As if anticipating the attack, Levi side-stepped, easily dodging the attack.
The wolf stared at Levi with wide eyes. Levi did not waste time; he jumped back, creating space between himself and the wolf.
"Surprised by something so little," Levi teased.
A ripple spread across the room, the wolf charged, the ground cracking beneath his feet.
Levi also moved, his form streaking towards the wolf.
Claws met swords, sparks flew as they collided. A sharp gust spread out, breaking skulls into dust.
They separated, then moved again. Levi's sword swung down in an arc, attempting to cleave the beast.
The beast raised its hand to block the strike, but was met with surprise. The sword twisted mid-motion, tearing the beast's shoulder slightly.
Pain flared, and a loud growl escaped the beast's mouth.
Levi did not give it a chance to recover; he moved again, this time for the head. The beast managed to block at the last minute, delivering a punch to Levi's stomach.
Levi, seeing no way to avoid it, instantly covered his body in a nanite armor. As the punch connected, its force was absorbed by the nanite swarm.
The nanites swallowed the beast's hands, devouring it flesh by flesh. The sound of teeth chomping on flesh was heard.
It released a roar, pain evident in its face. With a move, it sliced the arm cleanly.
Levi grinned as he gazed at the beast. "Decisive, huh?" He muttered.
Nanites weaved together in his hand, forming a dagger. The floor beneath him broke into rubble as he flashed forward.
The beast did not even try to block. In a quick movement, wind surged around it, and its wings flapped as it flew upwards.
"You think that is enough to escape," Levi muttered as he stopped where the beast had stayed previously.
A golden crown appeared on his eye, with a black dot. He looked up into the beast's eyes, releasing an invisible energy.
The beast immediately felt a force land on its body. With a thud, it fell to the ground, breaking the floor.
It could not stand up; its body was firmly pinned to the floor.
"It is pointless," Levi said, slowly and calmly. "You lost the moment you thought of escaping," he added.
Black mist formed in the atmosphere, then it dove down around the beast's neck. Cleanly, its body was separated from its neck.
Levi smirked as he gazed at the corpse. "It wasn't strong enough to even push me."
"I thought the academy was meant to give strong opponents," he whispered to himself.
Outside the crack, several powerhouses looked at the scene with wide, confused, and surprised eyes.
They did not understand how a new student was able to defeat one of the ten bosses without breaking a sweat or using any flashy techniques.
Henry looked at Levi, several thoughts passing through his head.
Chron was the most shocked. What the hell did he just do with the eye of Orrin?'' He thought.
He had been using the bloodline skill since his awakening over 500 years ago, and had never seen it used that way.
"You really struck gold with your son," Urielle's voice cut his thoughts.
"He takes after his father," Chron said with a smile while patting his chest.
Henry did not speak amidst the murmurs of the other beings; his gaze was focused on Levi's retreating figure. Then an idea bloomed in his mind.
"The final boss," he said.
Although only a whisper, everyone here was a god and heard it clearly. Chron turned sharply to look at Henry.
"The final boss is stage 9 adept tier. How do you expect Levi, who is probably at stage 1 of the adept tier, to face him?" Chron asked, eyes red.
Henry looked back, his face stoic. "How sure are you that he is only at stage 1 of the adept tier?" He asked, a smile forming. "I am sure you have also tried to check his level, but something keeps interfering."
Chron found what he said reasonable, but he still did not agree.
"Moreover, he just fought a beast at adept tier stage 5 without breaking a sweat. Aren't you also curious to know how powerful your son is?" Henry pushed.
Although he was the principal, he could not force a student to face the final boss, as it was not one of the admission requirements.
Chron's gaze softened as he heard Henry. He also wanted to know how strong his son was, but he was not going to risk his life.
"If you want it, accept," Maxim said. "If he is in danger, I would rescue him."
Chron looked at Maxim, but he did not doubt his words. Although they were billions of miles away from the crack. All it took was a snap of Maxim's finger to reach there.
"If Maxim agrees to save him, then do it," Chron said in a low voice.
"Good," Henry said, his head turning back to the screens.
Levi, in the crack, suddenly sneezed. "Why does it feel like something bad is about to happen?"
As he spoke, his body was dragged again. The duration for the drag was longer, but it still happened in a flash to Levi's mortal eyes.
"I hope this one is stronger," he muttered as he stepped through the door.
He knew that the only reason to be dragged was to fight with a boss.
Inside the cave, Levi saw a white giant wolf with a half-moon sign carved in its forehead.
The wolf lay calmly in the centre of the room.
