Unlike the previous hall, this cave was quite normal, carved from just stones and rocks.
Levi looked at the wolf, carefully and scrutinizingly.
The wolf raised its head slightly, looking at Levi's small and tiny figure. As if deciding the prey wasn't worth the effort, it dropped its head back onto its paw.
Levi twitched his brows at the Wolf's behaviour. "A proud beast," he muttered. The wolf looked up, its eyes scanning Levi again as if saying, 'Why are you still here?'
"Okay, that's it," Levi snapped. "I can't let an ordinary beast look down on me." As he spoke, he raised his hand.
Nanites formed into bullet-sized shards in thin air. "This is what you get for looking down on me," Levi screamed, bringing his hand down.
The shards launched at the beast at a terrifying speed, reaching it in an instant. As they got close to the wolf, they dissolved into light particles as a golden energy surged from the wolf's body.
"Ehh!" Levi's expression changed.
The beast, enraged that a prey it had let go was attacking it, stood up.
A loud howl emanated from its mouth, shattering several bricks with the force it released. Its eyes flashed gold as it looked at Levi.
Boom. It lunged at a speed impossible for its size, breaking the floor into rubble.
Levi was not calm. A heartbeat, that was all it took the wolf to reach him. Its claws came down from above Levi.
Levi regained his calm, quickly blocking with a nanite shield. The shield trembled from the force, cracking slightly from the hit.
Levi did not bother. His form faded into black particles.
The wolf turned back, confusion obvious in its face. Then, it heard a whistling just above its head. It looked up quickly to see Levi crashing down with a black axe.
Not wasting time, its body shimmered with golden light, flashing across the cave. Levi's axe connected to the floor, breaking the earth several meters around them.
The wolf appeared a few meters from Levi. They stopped and looked at themselves. The wolf finally acknowledged Levi as an opponent.
Levi's axe reshaped itself into dual swords. Golden, ethereal wings sprouted on the beast's back.
Nanites spread across the room in a swarm. Shadows curled around
Tension rose between them as they got ready for a second clash.
They charged again, streaking across the room like lightning.
Sparks flew as nanites clashed against claws. Unrelenting, they pushed forward, striking and blocking their attacks with each clash.
They stopped, staring at each other. A smirk formed on Levi's lips as he faded from sight. The wolf turned sharply, blocking Levi's sword.
Again, another strike came from above. But this time, the wolf did not remain passive. It sank into the shadows, appearing just above Levi.
Its mouth opened wide as light elements gathered rapidly, and it condensed into a breath. Levi twisted mid-air, his eyes wide in surprise as he thought of ways to avoid the attack.
"Use your time element," Chron shouted outside the crack.
Hearing Chron's words, the others turned with surprise.
"Does he have dual affinities?" Henry asked.
"Yes, he awakened time and nanite affinity," Chron replied, his eyes never leaving the screen.
The gods could not be more surprised. He was able to hold back against the beasts and still get the upper hand.
The other nine were already done with theirs, and surprisingly, no one died.
The huge blast of light burst from the wolf's mouth, pulverizing everything in its path as it neared Levi with each breath.
Levi's eyes shrank as he saw the light heading for him. "I never wanted to use this till I got into the academy," he muttered.
A wave burst from his body, stopping both the wolf and the attack mid-air
Levi landed softly on the floor, looking at the frozen light and wolf. With a snap of his finger, the light burst into fragments of pure energy.
The wolf fell to the floor, raising dust into the atmosphere.
A flash sparked in Levi's eyes as he activated a bloodline skill. "Omniscient vision."
The wolf bellowed in anger.
Its form melted, appearing a few meters behind Levi with jaws wide open to bite down.
But as if Levi had anticipated the attack, swarms of nanites attacked. A cut appeared on the wolf's cheek. Followed by multiple cuts as nanites enveloped the wolf.
Blood spilled on the floor, dying the earth with a crimson hue. The wolf staggered, but did not give up.
Light covered its body, burning the nanites that got closer.
"Futile resistance," Levi said with a smirk.
The wolf flew upwards, then dove down like a bullet.
Levi dissolved into nanites, avoiding the attack easily. The wolf was temporarily disoriented from the crash, giving Levi enough time to attack.
He appeared above the wolf instantly. His body spun rapidly as he descended, both swords trailing as arcs of swords came downwards, carving two deep cuts in the wolf's side.
The beast shrieked. It felt deep pain for the first time since the battle started.
Levi did not wait; he appeared in front of the beast again.
His sword moved slightly before dissolving. The beast was surprised that Levi did not attack, but it did not wait. It was prepared to attack Levi in his vulnerable state.
The sound of muscle tearing brought the wolf out of its illusion. Its four limbs split, spraying blood around. The beast wailed as pain flared.
Levi looked at it with a smile, his mind already thinking of the next step.
'System, activate the primordial slave contract you gave as a reward,' he said to the system with a thought.
A blinding pillar of light landed on the beast.
[Host has gained a new servant from the fallen realm, Feralith.
Levi could have just tamed the beast with his taming affinity, but he wanted to avoid leaking his secrets under the watchful gaze of the upper echelons, so he had to waste a precious reward.
[It is detected that the beast's hidden bloodline is the sacred Nyxora bloodline.]
As the system gave the notification, a smile appeared on Levi's lips.
