New York City.
The luxury black sports car stopped in front of the cafe, a man in all black got out of the car. Visuals and a mysterious aura on the man were able to make him into the spotlight, all eyes were on him. The cafe was out and about, so all of them who have out banged their eyes on Edward without blinking.
That man was Edward Viktor, he walked casually towards the cafe. He glanced up briefly and read the large writing in front of the cafe, which read, 'Magic Shop'. Edward didn't go there to eat, he just wanted to meet Evelyn. Find a way to stay close to that woman. After all, there's no history of vampires eating in human food courts.
"Tch, why are they all looking at me like that? I want to poke my eyes, how dare I look at me like that," Edward muttered quietly. He squeaked as he felt everyone staring at him, of course, Edward felt uncomfortable. All this time in the world of Draciana no one dared to look at him when Edward was around.
Edward casually walked away ignoring everyone's gazes on him. Edward sat in the corner of the room to be further away from the humans.
"Hello, welcome to the Magic Shop cafe, is there anything I can ban--" The woman who had just greeted Edward stopped her words. Likewise with Edward turned to look at the woman.
"Aren't you Edward, the man who was injured this morning?" the woman asked, frowning. Yep, that woman is Evelyn.
Evelyn was surprised to see the handsome man she saw this morning, now in front of her. Making Evelyn confused, asked questions in her mind. Was this just a coincidence, or was Edward following her?
"Yes," Edward answered shortly, he smiled faintly. Even though he struggled to stop himself from sucking Evelyn's holy blood.
Edward's faint smile was so sweet, Evelyn looked at him without blinking. Evelyn admits that Edward is very handsome, has a firm jaw, and has beautiful eyes that can make any woman fascinated with the man.
"Hey! Why are you silent?" Edward asked with a straight face, his sweet smile was gone.
~Evelyn snapped out of her thoughts, scratched the back of her neck that didn't itch, then shook her head slowly. "Ah no, what do you want to order? Let me take a note," he asked, smiling stiffly.
"What are you doing here?" Instead of answering Evelyn's question, Edward asked.
"You're weird, it's obvious I'm wearing a uniform. So that's a sign that I work here," replied Evelyn, rolling her eyes.
Edward nodded in understanding, then he asked again. "Why are you working?"
Evelyn gaped at Edward's question, how could the man in front of her ask such a ridiculous question?
"Yes because I have to work to earn money," replied Evelyn, crossing her arms over her chest, getting annoyed with Edward's strange question.
"But--"
"Oh come on, Edward. Stop asking and tell me, what would you like to order?" Evelyn asked interrupting Edward's words.
Seeing the woman in front of him upset, Edward chuckled. It was rare for Edward to laugh in front of anyone except his mother, even the inhabitants of the Draciana world had never seen Edward laugh. "No, I don't want any messages," he replied casually.
"Then, what do you want?"
"Working," Edward answered quickly, his face returning to its original level.
Evelyn blinked a few times, amazed at the man in front of her. Evelyn pointed at the luxury sports car in front of the cafe and said, "That's yours, right?" he asked. Evelyn knew it was Edward's car because her friend had told her. But he doesn't know if the owner of the car is Edward, the strange man he found this morning.
Edward nodded in response, his brown eyes staring intensely at Evelyn. His brain was thinking, how to approach the woman after this.
"You are a rich person, why do you want to work so hard at this cafe? The salary is not that big, and the work is also tiring. I'm sure you won't be able to," said Evelyn at length.
Edward raised an eyebrow, shrugging his shoulders nonchalantly. "I don't care, after all the car belongs to my mother. And I just borrowed it," he said, leaning back in his chair. Edward wasn't wrong, was he? The car belonged to his mother. He was just trying to be honest.
But in Evelyn's eyes, it was different, the woman thought that Edward was a good man who didn't want to waste his parents' wealth. Evelyn also thought that if Edward didn't want to bother his parents anymore, then Edward wanted to work. Before long, Evelyn nodded and smiled.
"Well then, I'll take you to meet the boss after this. You are a good man, yes, your parents must be proud of you," Evelyn said admiringly at Edward.
While Edward was frowning in confusion, good man? Even Edward didn't feel well. In the world of Draciana, Edward often kills vampires or werewolves who try to disturb his peace. Even during his life, Edward always made his father angry and angry. Can he be called a good man? I don't know Edward didn't think it was right.
"Ah, yes," Edward said turning his face away.
'If only that woman knew about your behavior, which always makes my father angry. He'll go back on his words right now.'
~Edward took a deep breath, for his father's voice was heard again. Then he closed his eyes for a moment.
'Shut up you old man! You better focus on your duty to be the king there, don't bother me!' Edward said to Jason telepathically.
"Hey! Why did you close your eyes? Are you sleepy?"
Evelyn's soft voice made Edward open his eyes again, then shook his head in response.
"Okay, then. Let me take you to the boss' room, I heard that there are still job vacancies here. Chances are you will be accepted to work here," said Evelyn.
"Alright, let's go!" Without a pardon, Edward rose from his seat and intertwined his fingers with Evelyn's. His cold skin was in direct contact with Evelyn's warm skin.
Evelyn was silent for a moment, then pulled Edward's hand hesitantly towards her boss room.
'Good start Edward.'
