Chapter 7 - Chapter 07

Evelyn led Edward into her boss's room, her hands still intertwined with Edward's. All the employees there stared at the two of them, Edward's good looks again fascinated the female employees. Except for a man who was walking towards Evelyn with an annoyed face, without permission the man pulled Evelyn away from Edward.

"Renza! What are you doing?" asked Evelyn.

"Who is he? Why are you two holding hands like that?" Renza had loved Evelyn for a long time, he didn't want Evelyn to be close to another man.

While Edward chose to remain silent, leaning his back against the wall. His hands were folded across his chest, his gaze flat and relaxed looking at the drama that Renza was making.

"He wants to apply for a job here, that's why I want to take him to the boss' room," explained Evelyn. He let go of Renza's grip on hers.

"What? Work here? No way," Renza refused.

"Renza--"

"Are you guys done? If you have, let me know. I don't want to waste time on things unimportant," Edward said lazily, he was about to leave. But Evelyn held her hand, making her stop walking.

"Wait! I'm sorry and my best friend, he's like that person. I'll take you now," said Evelyn immediately brought Edward to her boss's room.

Leaving the angry Renza in her place, she didn't want Evelyn to be close to another man. But he also doesn't dare to express his feelings, Renza just doesn't want his friends to be ruined because of love.

"Damn it," Renza grumbled.

"Za, who was the guy with Eve earlier? Do you know? He's very handsome," asked one of Renza's co-workers.

Suddenly Renza glared at him then said, "I don't know, you think I his father? He's not handsome at all," he answered emotionally, then just walked away.

A few minutes later, Evelyn and Edward came out of the boss room. Edward has been officially accepted to work at that place. Evelyn who heard that was happy but also surprised because Edward told his boss that there was no need to give a salary if Edward worked there.

"Edward, may I ask you something?" Evelyn asked doubtfully.

Edward turned his head, raising one eyebrow as if to ask 'What?'.

While Evelyn who understood immediately asked, "Why don't you want to be paid? Then why do you work if not to earn money?" Evelyn asked. He began to suspect the man because Edward's behavior and thoughts were always strange in his eyes.

Edward smiled faintly then said, "Because I wanted to." After saying that he walked over to one of the senior employees, to teach him how to work in the cafe. That Edward did just to stay close to Evelyn, that way he could approach her and bring her into Draciana's world.

Shortly after Edward left, Renza walked over to Evelyn who was still standing where she was. How could Evelyn not be surprised, which humans would want to work without getting paid? Evelyn thought it was weird.

"What's the wrong Eve? You seem to have thought of something?" Renza asked.

"I'm just surprised at Edward, he works here but doesn't want to be paid. A little strange in my opinion," he answered with his eyes still on Edward who was learning to welcome guests at the entrance.

"What? As I thought, there's something wrong with that guy."

"Huh... Come on let's get back to work, just let Edward do what he wants. We don't have the right to stop him, do we?" Evelyn said walking away from past Renza just like that. She didn't want to meddle in other people's business, Evelyn thought maybe Edward had a special reason why she did that.

Time goes by, Edward has been working at the cafe for almost an hour. His job is quite easy, he is only assigned to greet customers at the entrance. Just standing like a statue, keeps the customers coming. Moreover, if Edward smiled kindly, the cafe would immediately be full of people. The charm of the vampire prince of the world of Draciana is indeed very large.

"Don't come any closer, or you'll lose your lives right now," snapped Edward, starting to get annoyed, because the female customers were trying to approach him.

"You're so fierce, but you're so handsome," teased one of the women.

Edward took a deep breath, he took his sunglasses from his pocket and put them on. Edward chose to close his eyes as he leaned against the doorway, crossing his arms over his chest. Using his strength to not be able to hear the words of the humans around him, that way he can calm down.

Evelyn accidentally saw Edward who was being surrounded by women, didn't know where the urge came from. Evelyn walked over to Edward.

"Sorry, don't stand in the middle of the door. There are still a lot of empty tables inside, you can sit there. If you stay here, the other customers won't be able to come in later," Evelyn said still friendly.

The women looked annoyed, but they chose to go inside as Evelyn said. After the women left, Evelyn turned to look at Edward who still looked as relaxed as a statue.

"Edward? Are you all right?" Evelyn asked.

Silence...

Edward didn't answer Evelyn's question at all, not even seeing her whereabouts.

"Hey, are you not listening to me?" Evelyn was getting annoyed at being ignored, then she lightly smacked Edward's arm.

Suddenly Edward opened his eyes, the power that had blocked his ears was now gone. He took off the sunglasses that were perched on his nose, then turned to look at Evelyn who looked annoyed beside him.

"What's wrong?" Edward asked curtly.

"Didn't you hear me earlier?"

"Sorry, I just--"

"Did you fall asleep behind those sunglasses?" Evelyn asked again.

Edward was silent for a moment. "Sleep? Ah yes, I'm sleeping."

"You're weird after you continue working again. Don't sleep standing up, you might fall later. If you're sleepy, you should just rest inside," said Evelyn annoyed but attention, after saying that she walked away from there.

Leaving Edward who was still standing like a statue, smiling slightly as he looked at Evelyn who was slowly drifting away. But a few seconds later, the smile disappeared. When Edward sensed something fishy. His irises turned red.

"Damn, there's a vampire beside me around here," Edward muttered, clenching his fists in anger. A second later he shot like a flash of light away from there.
