Aston snorted with disdain, a smirk tugging at his lips. "What a cold-blooded creature. Anyways, you need to apologize to Brenda and accept punishment. Otherwise, forget about leaving the mansion."
His sharp eyes had already scanned the room and fell onto the suitcase gripped by Lana's hand.
Does she think others were fools?
Garrison adjusted the cufflinks and said in a calm voice as if announcing an assignment, "Go and kneel in the ancestral hall till your knees get bruised; you are not allowed to come out."
'They are different! They are way too different from past life. Are they reborn like me?' Lana wondered; however, the wheels in her mind started to churn, and she replied,
"Who said I wanted to leave? Since you want me to stay behind then..."
With a carefree smirk, she kicked away the suitcase and sat on the bed. "Take it. I didn't want to leave either way. And brothers, why are you suddenly acting so cruel to me? Your cold expression scared me!"
She even batted her eyes, acting coy. She knew the Almond siblings and Brenda far too well and knew how to achieve her goals, too.
Sure enough, the next second, Brenda's cold voice echoed, "As a punishment, she should be kicked out. Don't ask her to stay here, I feel repusled by breathing in same air as her."
Leonard smiled gently and patted her head, "Alright. We will do as Brenda says."
Turning toward the servants, he ordered in a cool voice,
"Kick this bad luck out. Remember to seize all the items related to the Almond Family, bank cards, property deeds, jewelry, and clothes."
"Brother, you forgot something! This imposter had enjoyed our sister's luxurious life for 20 years! Shouldn't she be punished? Let's do this... she should write an IOU for all the items she had consumed, worn, donated, as well as the education fees we had spent on her!" Aston reminded in a 'kind' voice.
"Let's not forget that she stayed in the Almond family, so write down the rent plus the interest and the mental compensation for us," Garrison added while staring at Lana coldly.
"But what if she refuses to pay back? Her parents were so disgusting, they dared to swap me and her, who knows what type of disgusting tricks she might have under her sleeves." Brenda sighed.
Her eyes flicked to Lana's snow skin and flashed with murderous intent.
'Because of her... because of her, I had to suffer so much. I was beaten every day, forced to drop out, while she, a lowlife, enjoyed.'
How unfair was life to her? Only Brenda knew.
Lana couldn't utter a word in between. What could she battle with? The Almond family indeed pampered her till they knew about her real identity.
Almond brother's ruthlessness proved they were reborn, so they will take as much revenge as they can.
It was her unfortunate luck that had made her reborn back to such a moment.
"Don't worry, I will hire thugs and make sure to get a monthly payment from her." Garrison assured, then remembering something, he smirked and ordered, "Such individuals shouldn't exist in the safe zone, butler Frances."
"I understood, master." Head Butler Frances bowed with a hint of understanding in his eyes.
Lana's heart tightened, and she forcefully smirked,
"You want me to be killed, Garrison? What? Want justice for your dear sister? But I was still a baby at that time. Or do you think I had learned to scheme since birth, rolled over, and swapped myself with your baby sister? If I could, I would have chosen a better family."
Servants: (._.) Wow...
The faces of Almond Brothers and Brenda darkened.
"Good, very good. Let's see if you can keep your sarcastic facade after the IOU is signed." Aston gritted his teeth.
Soon, the amount was calculated, and it came to around 30 million dollars. Out of which 10 million dollars were donated by Lana to people living in the suburbs of the safe zone.
Staring at the 30 million dollars IOU, Lana mused in her heart bitterly, 'What a way to start my rebirth.'
Yet in front of her nemesis, Lana had a carefree expression and said with conviction, "I, too, want a contract. State in it that after I pay off 30 million dollars, your Almond family can't have any claim on me. Or insult me."
The Almonds agreed naturally. After the contract signing, Lana held the contract as she walked out of the Almond family.
