Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Dream Warden

Once she was far away from the piercing gaze, tears appeared in her eyes, and she squatted down. Her shoulders trembled and she started to cry.

Rebirth... The scene from her before her rebirth was still flashing, and she could still remember how the love of her life, her white moonlight, died.

Even the excruciating pain of being stabbed by Brenda wasn't enough to wipe away the overwhelming sadness of losing him.

She was reborn and should have been able to change everything. But her? She had only incurred a debt and was left alone to fend for herself in the world.

She has even offended the Almond family, and now they will definitely take revenge on her! If she were reborn at the time of birth, she would have rolled over and not taken Brenda's place at all!

Now... even though it wasn't her mistake, others keep on blaming her!

"Wuu... wuwu..." Lana sobbed.

"Mother, why does that sister crying sound like the barking of a dog?"

Lana: ߹𖥦߹

She looked ahead and saw a child wearing a blue jumpsuit holding his mother's hand. He pointed at Lana as if she were a zoo animal.

"Mom! That dog-like sister is looking at us! Can I throw a stone at her? And why does she look so ugly? Eww! Will a disgusting snort leak from her nose now?" The child continued while laughing.

His mother cast an indifferent glance in Lana's direction and rolled her eyes, "That's a stupid person, ignore her."

Lana even heard the woman muttering under her breath, "What type of adult cries in the middle of the road?"

In an instant, an imaginary thermometer appeared beside Lana, and it exploded. Lana chuckled.

"Like the type of adult who doesn't teach their child basic public etiquette. And you," Lana pointed at the child, "...has anyone told you that you look like a blue worm? What? No one did? I will tell you. Children who curse or say ugly things a lot turn into an ugly blue worm."

"Aooo!" The child burst into tears hearing Lana's words.

"Haha! You sound like a wolf feigning injury!" Lana mocked.

The child: .·°՞(っ-ᯅ-ς)՞°·.

"You! How can you bully a child!" The mother was furious and marched up to Lana, intending to teach her a lesson.

But Lana wasn't a soft dough, she stood up too and snapped fingers at the mother, "I am not bullying, I am teaching him the importance of not offending an important person. And Miss Etiquetteless, it is your mistake primarily. A child learns from his mother. So learn to behave."

With that, Lana left the fuming mother and children pair.

She felt no shame for crying or calling out to her mother. Morals? Sorry, she had none.

Yup, she had lived two lifetimes, and yup, it was (a lot) immature to cry... but so what?

Once a human cries and lets out all the sadness, they gain the strength to deal with the situation.

"Alright, Lana! Don't cry! Nothing bad will happen! All the bad things have passed!" Lana patted her chest and started a quick house hunt.

She was broke, but knew weapon-making. Checking the date, she quickly realized that Ghost Gun version 110 hasn't been made yet.

In her previous life, she had won glory and paid off her debts because of her weapon-making skills. To prevent any kind of plagiarism, she remembered the blueprints of all the rival company's ghost hunting equipment.

Now she can bring out those blueprints and earn her first pot of gold!

With that thought, Lana's expression brightened up.

The lush green trees planted on either side of the sidewalk swayed, and the cool autumn wind refreshed Lana.

The technology of her world was advanced to the point that weapons were made to deal with ghosts.

And yet nothing could rival the existence of a Taoist priest as well as a Celestial Master. There were also the Popes and the bishops.

Each of them had a different method to deal with ghosts.

Maybe the god had taken pity on them because the power system in Lana's world was vast.

Like Brenda, who was a Dream Warden. After the arrival of the ghost portals, some of the weak ghost who loves to haunt the dream of people, and eventually turn a person mentally weak, increased vastly.

Usually, haunting the dreams was the first step for any weak ghost if it wanted to become powerful.
