Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Spell Caster Lana

"Oh, thank god it's not a ghost." Lana patted her chest but then suddenly froze.

Where did that voice come from?

Lana stiffly assessed the room but didn't find anyone other than herself. In an instant, she imagined a ghost with its hair covering most of its face and wearing plain white clothes behind her.

"Lana~," the ghost will whisper.

"Mommy!" Lana shouted, paused, remembering how her biological mother might throw her in front of a ghost if she were there, and changed her words.

"God Nytheris! Please help! You haven't given me a second chance to die in the hands of a wild ghost, right? I haven't even had my way with my white moonlight yet!"

Lana pleaded in her heart as she swiftly turned around and looked at her surroundings with a wary expression.

"Whoever you are! I tell you! God Nytheris has endowed me with special spellcaster talent! I will start to chant if you don't leave now!"

Silence.

Lana gritted her teeth and decided to be ruthless. She thought in her mind,

'All the reincarnators gain a golden finger; I refuse to believe I don't have any!'

"Plizzy Leaf-mea-loon Ay begguh yoodle let-me-goan foin' sumwun els tuh honk."

'Does she truly have a talent for spellcasting?' The crow thought, but suddenly he felt speechless.

'Is she saying... please leave me alone? I beg you to let me go and find someone else to haunt?'

As if that wasn't enough, the next second Lana started to do a weird dance and shout.

"Huli Ohh! Ohh! Brr! Shrr! Grr!"

Crow: (≖_≖ ) So stupid.

'I truly can't bear to see anymore.' The crow thought and flapped its wings.

Lana, on the other hand, felt smug. 'As long as the ghost thinks I am stupid and I lack brain, it might find some other target.'

(A/n: Now I know why her white moonlight rejected her.)

With that, she continued to do a silly dance when suddenly she felt a smack on her head, and the next second everything started to turn black.

Before falling unconscious, she thought in her heart,

'Was God Nytheris furious with me and hence, did she smack me?'

After knocking the troublemaker out, the crow's beak pricked Lana's index finger, and as the blood seeped out of her fingers, he rubbed his forehead.

The next second a bright light enveloped both Lana and the crow. On a closer look, a few blurry words and chains made of white light swirled around them.

As the white light faded, the crow hopped onto it, looked at Lana before sighing, and used his last bit of strength.

The next second Lana, who was lying on the floor, started to levitate. Though the distance between her and the ground was no more than the size of an index finger, it was still a testament to the crow's strength.

Slowly the unconscious Lana's body reached the bed, and just when the crow was about to inject a bit more strength to lift till her body could lie on the bed properly, a mishap happened.

Clang!

Lana's body crashed into the bed's side rail.

Crow: "..." Sh*t!

"Sorry." Its pleasant voice echoed in the room, and receiving no reply, it used all its remaining strength to help Lana lie down.

Using it beak, the crow covered Lana with a blanket and lay beside her.

................

The next day.

Lana woke up and found herself in bed. A sense of disorientation washed over.

'Hm... how did I end up here? Ah... I see, maybe the ghost has been scared by my chanting and left. So I indeed have a golden finger! How nice.'

Stretching her hand, she groaned and turned over, only to come face-to-face with a crow that was staring at her with its black beady eyes.

Lana: "..." No... why does the other reincarnator wake up face-to-face with a handsome man while I have to see a crow?

"I am your contracted beast." The crow explained while Lana nodded.

"Oh, that would explain why you are in my bed... wait! Fuck! How did you become my beast... no! I am not a cultivator... so how can you become my beast anyways?"

Lana wasn't unfamiliar with beasts. Many spiritualists have pet beast like beautiful cats or brave dogs, etc.

Though they were animals, as long as they gained sentience, they were categorized as beasts.

"You are a cultivator." The crow said firmly, making Lana baffled.

Cultivator? Her? What the fuck was he talking about?
