Acting dumb to what one already knew was one of the essential lessons I'd learned for survival. Apart from a smooth tongue to talk your way out of anything, acting dumb came next and smartness to discern when to use each was what kept you alive.
When I saw Alpha Noca earlier, flashes of the previous night returned to me. What had happened, what led to me passing out and why I'd woken up in the same chambers I usually slept in.
The kiss.
I didn't even want to call it that because I wasn't the one who had done it. Heck no. I'd rather drink an entire bowl of wolfsbane before willingly kissing Alpha Noca. Even if I were dying and that was the antidote to save my life, I'd rather let death take me than place my lips on his.
Something inside me and definitely someone else had done that without my knowledge. I hadn't acted out of my own volition, though I knew there would be little to no one who would ever believe that.
