We have been traveling for what felt like a month, and almost every day, Songo and I take an hour to practice with weapons. My worrywart cousin has explained everything to me in extreme detail about everything. The jewel shards and how she came to this Era, Kikyo, the priestess I met before we left, and how Kagome is her reincarnation. Last but not least, everyone's connection to this Naraku dude, who is a terrible demon that wants these jewel shards for himself, and it doesn't matter the lives he destroys to get them.
"Hey-" I interrupt the person who came up walking behind me as my knife almost pierced their neck.
"You really love almost dying at my hand, don't you, Monk?" I ask as I relax, causing Miroku to chuckle nervously.
"Not particularly, but Dinner is ready," Miroku informs, and I nod. The Monk turns away and heads back to camp as I hear a scoff, causing me to look over to see Inuyasha standing there by the nearest tree.
"I was going to say it's stupid of you to be so far from the camp, but seeing as you almost slit Miroku's throat..." Inuyasha trails off, causing me to laugh.
"I chose this place to practice cause I could feel you're presence in the tree." I point out, and Inuyasha's eyes widen for a moment.
"O-oh, well, let's get back, I'm hungry." Inuyasha insists as he walks passed me, and I roll my eyes. "I figured out that in this last month that he doesn't hate me. It's just he doesn't know how to show his emotions very well since he's a half-demon and half-human; he can't manage them too well." I think as I grab my stuff and follow after him.
"(Y/N), here you are," Kagome states as she rushes over to me and hands me a bowl.
"Thank you," I say as I head over and sit next to Songo and Shippo.
"Miroku told me you've improved very well with you're knife skills." Songo jibes, causing me to place my hand on my neck with a nervous expression.
"I didn't know it was Miroku behind me, so..." I trail off, causing Shippo to glare over at Miroku.
"I guess Miroku should learn not to sneak up on you." Shippo declares, causing the Monk to clear his throat.
"Well, we all know this Monk can take care of himself." Songo made known that I nearly spit out my food, while Shippo chuckles. Suddenly, I look around to see that Inuyasha and Kagome have disappeared, causing me to let out a sigh. "Inuyasha and Kagome are pretty close, but I never know if their gonna come back in a fight or be all lovey-dovey." I think as I place my bowl down finally done with my food.
"Are you already done?" Songo asks with a confused expression.
"Was it not to you're liking?" Miroku adds, causing me to quickly put my hand in front of me with a smile.
"Oh, yes, the food was good, but I'm exhausted. So I'm gonna go ahead and turn in." I answer, and they nod.
"Sleep well." Shippo insists, and I nod. Walking over to Kagome's bag, I grab the sleeping bag out of it and begin rolling it out. "This should be good." I think as I lie down and fall asleep.
"(Y/N)." A voice calls out in the darkness that I found myself standing in, causing me to look in that direction, but I couldn't see anyone.
"(Y/N)." The voice calls out once more, but in a different direction, and I turn to it, but there is still no one there.
"Who are you?!" I exclaim, but then a familiar deep-throated chuckle sounded out, causing a chill to run down my spine.
"I look forward to meeting you soon." The deep voice rings out, causing me to open my eyes to see the bright morning sun beaming down.
"Are you okay?" Kagome's voice sounds causing me to look over to see her with a worried expression.
"Y-yeah." I stutter, causing her to sit up in her sleeping bag that was about a foot away from mine.
"It sounded as if you were having a bad dream," Kagome informs as she begins getting up, and I shake my head.
"No, I'm fine." I insist as I begin to get up as well.
"Good, you two are up." Miroku pointed out, causing us both to look over at him as we were putting up our sleeping bags.
"Yeah, what's up?" I question.
"Inuyasha's anxious to get back on the road," Miroku responds, causing me to sigh.
"So pushy..." Songo trails off as she walks passed Miroku with Shippo on her arm and Kirara in her arms.
"Yeah, he thinks a Village is nearby," Kagome states as she stands up with her backpack and walks over to her bike. "I don't know why, but I'm starting to get a bad feeling." I think as we all gathered everything and began our travels once again. Suddenly, we came to a Village, but everything looked dead and dry.
"I don't like this." I proclaim, and everyone nods.
"Let's go find out what's going on in this Village." Songo declares as she looks over at Miroku.
(Time Skip)
"Raining demon parts, was it? How odd?" Miroku asks.
"It was awful and not just that." Villager 1 answers.
"It completely ruined all of our fields." Villager 2 adds.
"If only it were only the fields, but the old, young, and the weak. All of them have become sickened." Villager 3 points out.
"I should think so... I'm definitely detecting an evil presence in this area. Leave it to me." Miroku nods, and I narrow my eyes at the cloudy sky. "There's something really wrong here." I think with a worried expression.
(Time Skip)
"Here we come to save the day again. Do we have time for this? What about Naraku, huh? Or does he not matter anymore?!" Inuyasha exclaims as we were all walking.
"No one's forgotten anything, but Kagome's arrow really did him some damage. Even Naraku would be down for a while after something like that. Besides, I've already accepted payment for services rendered, so..." Miroku trails off, causing us all to look over at him.
"When did that happen?" Kagome asks.
"You haven't done anything yet. The paying part of it doesn't usually come till afterwards." Inuyasha points out. "What a scheming Monk." I think as I shake my head slightly.
"If you wait, you'll get cheated on the tip," Miroku informs, causing Kagome to chuckle, but then I look over to see Songo standing there staring at the weird-looking mountain, with purple clouds around it.
"Songo, is everything okay?" I questioned as I walked over to her.
"The Miasma, I think it's at the base of that mountain. I was just wondering if someone other than Naraku could produce such poison." Songo responds as she turns to me. "Is the Miasma the reason why I have such a bad feeling?" I wonder as I look at the dark purple clouds.
"Someone other than Naraku?" Miroku asks, causing me to stare at the mountain. "Or is it I don't want to meet this Naraku demon they keep talking about?" I wonder with a nervous expression, but we all begin walking towards the mountain.
"The poison even killed the grass." Shippo points out as he, Songo, and Kagome were riding on Kirara, while I was walking with Kagome's bike alongside them.
"We're almost there. Whatever's going on here, I don't like it." Inuyasha, who was in front of us leading insisted as Miroku followed behind him. "Same." I think as we continued walking.
"Huh?" Inuyasha sounds as we come to an entrance to the mountain.
"Look, I think that's where the Miasma's coming from," Kagome states, but then Songo begins coughing and falls off Kirara.
"Songo!" I call out as I quickly drop the bike and rush over to her.
"Are you okay?" Kagome asks as she is still coughing, causing me to look over at Kagome with an annoyed expression.
"If what you told me happened before, then she's obviously not okay," I answer with a worried expression, but then I see Kirara shrink out of the corner of my eyes.
"Songo, Kagome, and (Y/N). You three stay here; it's just a Demon hunt. There's no sense dragging everyone along. Miroku, you coming?" Inuyasha questions as he looks over at him, and Miroku nods, but then looks over at Shippo and me.
"You two seem resistant to the poison. Will you both look after things?" Miroku requests, and I nod with a worried expression.
"Leave everything to us," Shippo responds, but then looks over at the mountain entrance.
"But promise you'll be careful. That Miasma's pretty strong..." Shippo trails off. Miroku and Inuyasha go inside the cave as I help Songo onto a rock, while Kagome grabs Songo's mask.
"The poison is getting worse, Songo. I'm worried about you." Kagome insists as I glance over at the entrance. "I don't know why, but it feels as if it's pulling me in." I think, while Songo straightens up a bit.
"I'm okay, but what about the two of you?" Songo asks.
"Don't worry about me, I'm fine," Kagome answers as they both look over at me, but I stand up as Shippo, and Kirara begin walking towards the cave slowly.
"What's going on in there? It's like I'm being pulled in. Something really bad must be happening." Shippo states as he jumps onto my shoulder as if pulling me out of a trance.
"Yeah, I agree," I say as I turn to them and pick up Kirara.
"I wish Inuyasha and Miroku weren't in the middle of it." Kagome declares.
(Time Skip)
"They're taking too long." Kagome insists.
"Yes, let's go." Songo agrees as she gets up and goes to walk, but begins to fall, causing me to catch her.
"That wouldn't be a wise choice," I state.
"(Y/N)'s right." Kagome declares as she stands up.
"You're still too weak from before; you'll die in there." Shippo points out, and I nod.
"Kagome, take Songo out of here. I'll go check on the guys." I made known, but she shook her head.
"No, let's all get out of here." Kagome proclaims.
"I'll be fine, just get Songo out of here. This Miasma is only making her condition worse." I assert, but then a presence I know all too well causes me to look over to see Kikyo standing there. "What the hell is she doing here?" I wonder, but she then looks over at Kagome with an irritated expression.
"So Inuyasha's inside," Kikyo states as she walks passed me and begins heading towards the cave.
"Kikyo, wasn't that the name of the priestess?" Shippo questions, and I go to rush after her.
"(Y/N)!" Kagome calls out, causing me to stop, and I turn back to face her.
"Don't try and stop me-"
"Kirara. Take Kirara, and please be careful." Songo pleads as she interrupts me, and I nod as Kirara jumps into my arms. "As soon as I saw Kikyo, I felt as if my bad feeling was justified..." I think as I turn and head towards the entrance. Beginning to hear familiar voices yelling, but I was unable to hear what they were saying.
"Let's hurry, Kirara." I insist with a worried expression.
"Murrow." Kirara sounds as she jumps out of my arms and runs alongside me.
"K-Kikyo." Inuyasha's voice rings out as I run up to see lights begin to burst out of Kikyo's body, and my eyes widen. "What the hell is going on?!" I wonder as I see her begin walking towards the edge, and my eyes widen.
"What are you doing, stupid?!" I exclaim as I rush over and push her back, but then fall backwards.
"(Y/N)?!" Miroku calls out as I land on the ground, knocking me unconscious.
(3RD POV)
"Damn it, (Y/N)!" Inuyasha calls out as he goes to jump over to her, but the giant Demon slaps him away with his hand.
"Murrow!" Kirara sounds as she goes to jump down to (Y/N).
"Kirara, no!" Miroku instructs as he grabs her by the tail, pulling her back up, but looks at (Y/N) with a worried expression.
(To Kagome)
Rushing through the cave, her necklace falls off, causing her to go reach down and grab it, but she stops.
"I can sense another jewel and- no, this isn't it. There's another fragment. Someone has another fragment unless-" Kagome cuts herself off as she looks in the direction she sees light.
(To Miroku)
"The Miasma is becoming thicker with all of Kikyo's dead souls." Miroku insists as he begins coughing with Kikyo lying in his lap.
"Miroku, you're alive. Hang in there, okay?" Kagome asks as she rushes over to him.
"Kagome..." Miroku trails off, but she looks down to see Kikyo in his lap.
"What's going on?" Kagome questions.
"There's deadly sorcery at work here, and Inuyasha is about to become part of the experiment if we don't stop him." Miroku responds.
"How so?" Kagome asks as she looks down at the Giant demon and Inuyasha staring at each other.
"I did sense the jewel while back. Could this be a trap?" Kagome questions.
"The Miasma is too powerful, and we both know what that means. Naraku's involved, and what's worse is (Y/N) down there right in the middle of their fight." Miroku points out, causing Kagome to look down at (Y/N) with a worried expression.
"(Y/N), how did she get down there?!" Kagome exclaims, causing the demon to look over and grin.
"I'll use her as a hostage." The demon chuckles as he goes to pick (Y/N) up.
"Don't you dare!" Inuyasha shouts as he rushes over and cuts the demon's hand off, causing the demon to wail as he backs up. Suddenly, the demon begins laughing as he regenerates and hits Inuyasha away from the unconscious (Y/N).
"Inuyasha, no, stay calm!" Miroku calls out.
"No. I will not. Stay calm! I'M GONNA PROTECT KIKYO!" Inuyasha calls out as he turns to see Kagome standing there, and they stare at each other for a moment. Suddenly, the giant demon makes another advance at Inuyasha, causing him to slightly dodge it by jumping up and slicing the demon.
Kagome!" Miroku calls out as Kagome jumps down.
"What are you doing?!" Miroku exclaims, but she continues to look down at (Y/N).
"I have to get my cousin out of there!" Kagome bellows as she makes her way to (Y/N) and lifts her.
( (Y/N)'s POV)
"Mmm." I sound feeling pain all over.
"You're conscious, can you stand?" Kagome asks, causing me to open my eyes and glance over at her.
"W-why did you come in here?" I question as she begins helping me up.
"You're my cousin. I couldn't just abandon you." Kagome responds as I glare over at her. "Damn it, that stupid priestess is nothing but bad luck." I think as I let out a sigh, but then Kagome puts on a serious expression.
"What?" I ask as I look over at her, and she points down at the shard that's hanging from my neck.
"How did you-"
"INUYASHA, NO!" Miroku bellows, while interrupting Kagome as Inuyasha slices the demon repeatedly.
"DON'T KILL HIM!" Miroku shouts, while Inuyasha goes to administer the final slice, but then a sacred arrow flies through the sky, hitting Inuyasha's sword and rebounds up towards the opening at the top of the mountain, where the sky is visible. A bright light shines as Inuyasha's sword detransforms, and we all look over to see Kikyo standing there by Miroku with her bow drawn.
"Oh, shit!" I cursed as it felt like an earthquake was happening, resulting in Kagome and me falling, but seeing as I was hurt, I couldn't get up and begin rolling.
"(Y/N)!" Kagome calls out, but I end up hitting my head once again and being knocked out.
(3RD POV)
"The spell is broken, the Miasma gone," Miroku states as air comes out of nowhere and begins sucking us up to the top, causing Kagome and Inuyasha to scream, but they begin to be wrapped up in the demon corpses that were also being sucked up.
"Inuyasha!" Kagome shouts as she reaches for him.
"Kagome!" Inuyasha calls out as he grabs onto her hand.
"Are you alright?!" Inuyasha exclaims.
"I'm fine!" Kagome responds, but then glances up to see that (Y/N) was unconscious and tightly wrapped in the corpses.
"(Y/N)!" Kagome calls out, but then quickly looks over at Inuyasha, who slowly climbs up to where Kagome is.
"(Y/N), WAKE UP!" Kagome calls out, but (Y/N) was unresponsive, and then they both look over to see Naraku standing there on the ground.
"NO, PLEASE!" Kagome wails as Inuyasha grabs Kagome and jumps off the Demon, who outstretches its hand towards Naraku, but then a bright light begins to shine.
"(Y/N)!" Kagome screams as she turns back to see all the demons entering Naraku.
"You shot him with you're arrow, remember. He needed a body, so he had those demons kill each other and combine to a new one." Inuyasha informs, while the light diminished around Naraku.
"The mountain mist lured you. You took the bait and I cast my spell." Naraku chuckles as his hair danced in the wind and his new body glowed.
"You could have joined me in here, Inuyasha. If only you had the courage, like this one right here." Naraku jibed as he turned at looked over to see an unconscious (Y/N) a little bit away from him.
"Yeah, right loser (Y/N) unconscious. If she were awake she never would have stayed on that demon!" Kagome bellows with an angry expression.
"She and you had the same attire when I first saw her, it's quite intriguing." Naraku grins as he walks over to (Y/N) and bends down to her.
"I was hoping it would be Kikyo by my side seeing as she did give me this new body of mine, but it seems she's still that foolish woman that followed you into death 50 years ago." Naraku scoffs, causing Inuyasha to drawl his sword with an angry expression.
"You bastard!" Inuyasha bellows as he begins rushing over towards Naraku and goes to cut him, but is stopped by an invisible wall and Miasma, which causes him to be pushed back.
"(Y/N)!" Kagome shouts as Naraku raises up into the sky in a cloud of Miasma holding (Y/N) in his arms princess style with his baboon suit on, but it wasn't covering his face.
