Chapter 39 - Friend

"Okay, listen up," a man's voice rang across the field, firm and commanding. "This was supposed to end at 5 P.M., so the remaining groups will play next Sunday."

Before he could even finish, the crowd started to break apart, students filling the whole field with noise and movement.

Relief washed over Axel, thank the moon goddess he wasn't going to stress about the game now.

"Dude, where have you been? Our group was the next on the list, and we included you before knowing you weren't around."

Axel turned, blinking at the four Alphas standing in front of him. He remembered them clearly from the gym this morning, the same ones who had thrown suspicion at him, mocked him, and called him weak. And now they included him in their group?

Was it because he had actually managed to lift that weight? Were they trying to take their words back by including him in their group?
