Chapter 11 - Demon queen

Lin Huang woke up feeling a biting headache. Unconsciously, he clutched his head, trying to massage it to alleviate the pain.

However, his attention was completely elsewhere. "The world around us is made of atoms... What are atoms?"

Unknown to Lin Huang, just as he was muttering, the sky above the Phoenix and Dragon Dojo darkened slightly, as if attracted by Lin Huang's muttering.

As Lin Huang thought about it, the headache which had slightly subsided once again flared up.

In the end, Lin Huang was forced to stop thinking about it. "I will ask Master for clarification when I have the chance," he decided.

However, after some time his thoughts would once again return to the same point. After all, what Lin Huang had learned was too novel and grand—a thought that defied proper understanding.

In the end, he closed his eyes and started to meditate, trying once again to gather the atmospheric qi into his meridians.

Lin Huang was expecting to fail just like before. After all, his meridians were completely blocked.

However, the next moment a stunned expression appeared on his face.

His meridians, which could not even hold a strand of qi, seemed to have loosened a little bit, having no trouble accommodating the qi strand.

"How is this possible?"

Lin Huang exclaimed. He was very familiar with his own injuries and knew just how severe they were. It would be surprising if he was able to ever recover.

But now, out of nowhere, his meridians had undoubtedly healed.

There were so many things Lin Huang couldn't understand, so in the end he stopped thinking about everything and focused solely on the strand of qi in his meridians.

...

The alley in which the Phoenix and Dragon Dojo was situated wasn't wide and could even be said to be slightly narrow. The dojo was situated at the junction of three alleys. Directly some distance away was a tavern where warriors usually came to doze off. Currently, a man dressed in a drunkard's uniform looked into the distance with narrowed eyes.

"It is undoubtedly this place!"

"I will have to quickly rush back and inform the vice leader."

Thinking of this, he paid his bill and made his way out, hiding his face under a straw hat.

The tavern owner also didn't pay any attention to the man, focusing on catering to the customers.

The straw hat figure walked carefully, making sure that no one was trailing him. Just then he stopped and suddenly turned his head and shouted:

"Who is it?"

There was no one. The passersby, attracted by his shout, looked at him with a questioning look in their eyes.

The straw hat man scanned the crowd. His senses became even more alert. There was no way he could be wrong—someone was definitely behind him. The fact that the mysterious expert was able to get so close to him and even leave undetected meant he was super strong, and the straw hat man was no match at all.

This thought terrified the straw hat man.

With these thoughts in his mind, his steps became even more hurried, and in no time he disappeared from the alleys.

However, how could Wang Chen allow the man to escape? He silently followed the straw hat man like a ghost.

He was ninety percent sure this man was definitely a spy from the Bloodfang Gang. If he allowed him to escape, endless trouble would follow.

However, just as the thought of directly killing the man had occurred to him, suddenly he remembered his new skill.

So without further ado, he silently cast the Doomclock skill and waited until the spy led him to the Bloodfang Gang hideout.

The spy didn't directly move to the hideout like any spy would but made several detours.

Wang Chen couldn't help but frown at his behavior. After all, what was the need to go through all this? The Bloodfang Gang was a major power in the city—what did they need to fear?

Indeed, Wang Chen was correct, but he had forgotten one thing: there was not just one such entity, but there were four other gangs as well.

So after cautiously moving, the spy threw several feints before stopping and disappearing into what looked like an abandoned warehouse.

"So this is the place..."

Once Wang Chen confirmed this was the right place and the spy was not trying to fool him, he flicked his wrist.

"Bang!"

A subdued sound of a watermelon exploding came from ahead. There were still a few minutes before the timer was up, but Wang Chen had made it explode beforehand.

This was the flexibility that the skill provided.

Just as Wang Chen was about to walk away, a cool and sluggish voice drifted over:

"Fellow Daoist, what's the rush? Why not stop for a second..."

An extremely beautiful woman with almond-shaped eyes and skin as white as snow, her alluring figure hidden beneath a beautiful flowery robe. At this time, those eyes of hers were focused on Wang Chen's figure.

She had just witnessed a cultivator get played to death.

Wang Chen heard the voice but pretended not to care, because just a moment ago, as the sound of the explosion came, unknown fragments of memories also appeared in his head.

The memories of the victim before death...

This was surprising. Wang Chen was not expecting this.

Finally his eyes turned to the woman in the distance. Acting nonchalant, he lazily said, "So fellow Daoist finally decided to show yourself," acting as if he was aware of her presence all along.

"Greetings... this humble one goes by the name Wang, not as in 'ding dong' but as in 'king.'"

He said with a straight face, his eyes scanning the woman's figure.

Internally, however, his face had darkened. He could sense no fluctuation of qi at all from this woman—it looked as if he was looking at a mortal.

However, from the intense feeling of death that he was experiencing, this woman was no mortal.

Meanwhile, the woman was completely stunned after hearing Wang Chen's introduction, not believing her ears.

"After how many millennia has someone actually dared to jest so freely with me... Who is this ignorant young man?"

Zi Han couldn't stop herself from giving Wang Chen another glance.

There was no fear in those eyes, as if nothing in the world could scare him.

And to her surprise, there was no fear in those eyes. She could tell at a glance the young man in front of her was extremely young, just twenty-five years old, and at the Qi Refining rank 4.

"What utter trash!"

However, she kept these thoughts to herself. Just a moment ago, the aura was something of heavenly laws...

This man in front of her could not be taken lightly.

Thinking up to this point, a smile appeared on her face and in a sweet voice she said, "Fellow Daoist, the technique you used just now has captured my heart. Would you be kind enough to teach me?"

Without delay, Wang Chen inwardly nodded his head.

"Why not, fellow Daoist? It would be my pleasure."

"Just accept me as your master..."

Zi Han had barely heard these words when her face froze.

She pointed her index finger at herself and asked in confirmation:

"You want me to accept you as Master?"

Wang Chen nodded and said, "I only teach my techniques to my students. If you want to learn it, that is the only way."

After that, Zi Han no longer spoke. Wang Chen also didn't say anything more but simply took his leave.

Unknown to him, Zi Han watched him leave, a slight smile on her face. "A cultivator actually wanted to take the Demon Queen as a disciple... how interesting."

If cultivators at the Nascent Soul realm were to hear her words, they would likely freeze to death. "Demon Queen"—these were two words that were not to be said lightly.

After all it reminded of the time that most wanted to forget.
