"Who's the person inside the other monster?"
The Internet Addict was consumed by curiosity.
He'd seen Batman shut off the sonic device, and the blaring noise vanished.
Whoosh!
The other monster suddenly turned its head towards him.
At that moment, the Internet Addict, finally able to move again, scrambled away from the bridge as fast as he could.
He didn't care who was inside the other monster anymore!
Fear washed over him again, and the Internet Addict only relaxed after escaping the Golden Gate Bridge and blending into the distant crowd.
At this moment, on the Golden Gate Bridge, Anton, holding the barely conscious Drake, looked at Venom.
"You shouldn't expose yourself right now. Leave first; I'll handle the rest," Anton instructed.
"Understood."
Eddie had dealt with Drake, and Venom had taken care of Riot. Both felt much more relaxed.
With an affirmative response, Venom maintained its form and leaped into the sea.
Anton, in turn, jumped into the air, carrying the unconscious Drake, and landed on the airborne Batmobile, gazing towards the San Francisco Police Department.
Wee-oo wee-oo!
In response to a string of emergency calls, patrol officers near the Golden Gate Bridge, along with police dispatched from headquarters, were rushing to the scene at top speed.
Just as the patrol officers were about to reach the Golden Gate Bridge, a bizarre scene unfolded in front of their car.
A purely black car, hovering in the air, flew toward them.
The car had an exaggerated wide-body design, with faint glimpses of gun barrels and various weapon systems on both sides, looking both cool and terrifying.
Most importantly, there was a person standing on the car's hood.
His cape was billowing in the wind, and the half of his face visible beneath the helmet was filled with a stern expression.
"Batman!"
The police officer in the car immediately recognized this "celebrity" figure who had recently appeared.
"Who is he holding?"
"Drake!"
"It's Drake from the Life Foundation!"
The police officers in the car looked at each other, not understanding what Batman meant.
Bang!
Subsequently, Batman threw Drake at them.
The latter slammed heavily onto the hood of the police car, nearly denting it.
At this moment, Drake was having difficulty breathing and was on the verge of death. This throw caused him even more pain; it seemed like he would die any second.
Under the flames, not only did Riot die completely, but as Riot's host, he was also severely burned, with half of his face destroyed.
If it weren't for Riot's symbiote form acting as a shell and shielding him from most of the damage, he would have been reduced to ashes within the first three seconds of the flamethrower's activation.
"He's all yours. I hope the San Francisco Police Department won't disappoint me."
With those words, Batman remained standing on the Batmobile, and then he drifted away with a very graceful pose.
Following closely behind were a group of citizens who had gone to any lengths to watch the spectacle.
They were chasing after Batman.
Seeing Drake lying on the hood of the police car, the group looked at each other, realizing they couldn't catch Batman. They simply surrounded the police car.
The police got out of their cars to take control of the situation and question the people.
A few minutes later, people from the headquarters arrived, and they finally understood what had happened.
"This is a huge mess!"
The San Francisco Police Department's chief took a sharp breath, already envisioning the chaos at San Francisco City Hall.
In the crowd, Annie and Dan Lewis, who had originally been heading to the Golden Gate Bridge but were swept along by the crowd, also learned what had happened from others and breathed a collective sigh of relief.
They exchanged glances and smiled.
It's over! The trouble is completely resolved! Thanks, Batman! …
Anton didn't rush back to Annie's house. Instead, he first went to the outskirts of the city to retrieve Annie's car from a remote area and drove back into town while humming a tune.
His mood was wonderful.
It wasn't because of that anticlimactic battle. Easily dealing with Riot and Drake was part of his plan all along, completely in line with his expectations.
He was so happy because of the system prompt.
[Solved the Riot, brought down the Life Foundation, rewarded 8,000,000 Justice Points]
Current Justice Points: 10,000,000.
What did this mean? It meant that Anton could now exchange for Batman's special armor from the system space at any time.
Although he could only exchange for the relatively cheaper ones, it was already a huge step forward.
"Finally, I'm out of the basic suit!" Anton thought with emotion.
He still needed to carefully consider whether to immediately exchange for the special armor or save up to get the most expensive one, going all out at once.
He wasn't in a hurry, leisurely driving back to Annie's home.
At that moment.
Annie and Lewis hadn't returned yet, but Eddie had been waiting in the living room for a long time, anticipating their arrival.
"Anton, thanks to you!"
Eddie's expression was complicated. He had recognized Anton, who was wearing the Batman armor, thanks to Venom's reminder.
A symbiote doesn't identify a person based on their face.
By sensing scents, sounds, and other factors, Venom recognized Anton, whom it had a good impression of, almost immediately.
As early as during the fight, when Anton, as Batman, had quickly arrived on the scene, Venom had given Eddie the answer in his mind.
"Don't mention it, you deserved it."
Anton smiled slightly, accepting Eddie's thanks with equanimity.
Today, on the Golden Gate Bridge, Eddie and Venom were completely outmatched by Drake and Riot, getting pummeled and unable to fight back.
If he hadn't arrived, the outcome would have been uncertain.
This time, it wasn't about him taking credit; he was genuinely needed.
Honestly, the level of Venom's performance today wasn't as strong as Anton had anticipated.
Then, he thought again. In the original story he remembered, Venom hadn't defeated Riot either, needing help from his ex-girlfriend to barely win the fight.
That made sense!
Of course, this experience served as a reminder to Anton.
In the original story, these protagonists were all destined heroes, favored by fate. However, now that Anton had become a little butterfly and flapped his wings, the world's destiny had shifted, and everything was different.
Except for those with particularly strong fates, like Tony Stark, Anton couldn't rely on the plot in his head to make judgments.
"I sent Drake to the police, he's finished!"
Anton was certain: "Even if he wants to make a comeback, he'll have to consider whether Oscorp will let him."
"Oscorp..."
Eddie hadn't forgotten that during their previous escape, not only did the Life Foundation come after him, but so did Oscorp's private soldiers.
His expression was serious: "How should I face Oscorp?"
"I'll speak up for you. Currently, the Daily Bugle has a certain cooperative relationship with Oscorp, so I have some say," Anton comforted him. "Oscorp isn't like the Life Foundation; it's hard to take down. Judging by our strength alone, it would be a project no less significant than the moon landing of the last century. Therefore, it's best to play along with Norman Osborn for now."
"Understood."
Eddie nodded, not overly concerned about Osborn's threats.
Firstly, he now possessed a symbiote, with Venom ready to fight by his side, making him a superhuman of sorts.
Secondly, Batman was his boss!
Neither of them were ordinary.
After the Life Foundation and Drake's downfall, Oscorp had to reconsider the consequences and wouldn't choose such a brutal approach again.
Most importantly, Eddie knew that Oscorp was after the symbiote.
Now, with the Life Foundation in a precarious situation and Oscorp always wanting to take over, it was a golden opportunity.
At that point, once Oscorp had the symbiote, their interest in him, the host, would likely wane considerably.
Coupled with the Daily Bugle, represented by Anton, pleading his case, it would be only natural for them to abandon their pursuit.
Based on Eddie's understanding of Oscorp, Norman Osborn wasn't the same type of person as Drake.
At least, the former didn't have such a strong obsession with extraterrestrials.
Soon.
Annie and Lewis went home.
Another round of pleasantries.
"Alright, no business talk today, let's just have some fun!"
Anton slammed his hand on the table, uttering the three words everyone loves to hear.
"My treat!"
After they'd partied until dawn at a nightclub in San Francisco, they woke up in their respective hotel rooms.
Bang, bang, bang!
Everyone was awakened by knocking.
Different people stood at each of their doors, all dressed in suits and looking incredibly serious.
"Hello, Anton."
The slightly balding man smiled and introduced himself, "I'm Phil Coulson from the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division. Our department is a special unit of the International Security Council dedicated to handling various strange events..."
