Chapter 25 - Chapter 25 Hogwarts Express

"Alchemy, I definitely need to study it properly in the future."

Less than twenty minutes later, the magic car stopped outside King's Cross Station. George declined Tonks' kind offer to escort him in, pushing his trolley while contemplating inwardly.

Actually, the journey from the Leaky Cauldron to King's Cross Station wasn't so smooth; they hit traffic.

However, the Ministry of Magic's car clearly had high-level spatial magic added through Alchemy. Aldor simply pressed a button, and the car seemed to compress, easily passing through gaps between cars that were less than a person's width.

The magic of this World is amazing, and the magical items made with Alchemy are equally incredible.

If he masters Alchemy, he can completely transform the Mutant School into a magical Castle similar to Hogwarts in the future. Without his permission, ordinary people wouldn't be able to break in.

"Platform Nine and Three-Quarters."

Arriving at the dividing wall between Platforms Nine and Ten, George pushed his trolley and walked straight into it.

Then, something magical happened: he and the trolley seemed to hit a transparent curtain of Water, passing through it without any obstruction.

The scene shifted, and a very special platform appeared before his eyes.

The most striking sight was the deep red steam engine, which read: Hogwarts Express, departing at eleven o'clock.

He had seen descriptions of this magical train in specialized History of Magic books before.

To deeply understand the magic of this World and navigate the Wizarding World skillfully in the future, mastering History of Magic knowledge is paramount.

Many methods of learning and breaking magic can actually be found in History of Magic.

So he also spends a certain amount of time each day studying the various history books he bought.

The Hogwarts Express was built in the early to mid-nineteenth century, a joint effort by a Muggle engineer, numerous Muggle railway workers, and most of the Wizards from the Ministry of Magic at the time.

This magical train route also involved the largest use of the Memory Charm and the largest-scale Muggle expulsion charm in the World.

The reason was that the then very responsible Minister for Magic, Ottaline Gambol, felt that it was too unsafe and uncomfortable for young Wizards to use Portkeys to go to Hogwarts, and every year young Wizards were lost due to improper Portkey use.

Inspired by Muggle steam trains, the Hogwarts Express and its extra-long railway route came into being.

It is said that this initiative faced protests from some pure-blood families, but it was forcefully suppressed by the Minister for Magic, who threatened that those who didn't take the train wouldn't be admitted to Hogwarts.

This magical steam train travels between Platform Nine and Three-Quarters at King's Cross Station, London, and Hogsmeade Station, six times a year.

Once for the start of term on September 1st, four times for Christmas and Easter, and once for the summer holidays in June.

At this time, thick smoke from the steam engine filled the platform. Because George arrived relatively early, there weren't many young Wizards and their Wizard parents sending them off on the platform, and it wasn't noisy.

He pushed his trolley into the carriage marked for first-years, found an empty compartment, deftly stowed his luggage on the overhead rack, and then placed the cage with his owl in the corner of the compartment closest to him.

"Sleep well, and don't make noise and scare the young Wizards who will arrive soon," he instructed Peggy. George then took out a copy of "The Importance of Basic magic Theory" and began to read intently.

The journey from London to Hogwarts would take approximately five or six hours, and he couldn't just waste that time.

As time passed, more and more Wizards of all ages appeared on the platform outside the window, along with various magical pets, and young Wizards gradually started entering the carriages.

"Wow, is that your pet? What a huge owl!"

A small boy with a magical camera around his neck, passing by George's compartment with his own small trolley, was attracted by the enormous owl, Peggy, and instinctively walked in.

He put his luggage in the corner, picked up his magical camera, excitedly took a few photos, and then introduced himself to George:

"Hello, my name is Colin Creevey."

"Just call me George," George looked up at the boy, smiling and nodding.

That name was somewhat familiar to him; he seemed to be a crazy fan of Harry, who loved taking pictures of his idol, Harry.

"George, I…"

Colin was very lively and talkative. He made himself at home, sitting next to George and starting to chatter.

At this point, George had no choice but to put away his magic book and chat with him for a few minutes.

Through their conversation, George learned that Colin was born into a Muggle family and had a younger brother, Dennis Creevey.

Because of his passion for photography, after seeing the magical camera in Diagon Alley, he used the money he had saved for a pet to buy the magical camera instead.

His most admired idol was Harry Potter, mentioned in "Modern History of Magic," "The Rise and Fall of Dark Arts," and "Important Magical Events of the Twentieth Century." Harry was only one year older than him but had already defeated Lord Voldemort, who had struck fear into the Wizarding World.

"Oh, by the way, George, I've talked so much, but you haven't told me about yourself yet?"

After a long, rambling conversation, Colin realized he knew nothing about George.

To avoid further chatter, George simply smiled and said:

"I'm an orphan. I've never seen my parents and have no family, so there's nothing much to introduce."

Colin was stunned by this, then a look of sympathy appeared on his face, and he quickly changed the subject:

"By the way, your owl is so big, what does it usually eat?"

"Eurasian Eagle-Owl, usually found in Eurasia and Africa, primarily inhabiting mountain forests, plains, wilderness, forest edges, sparse woodlands, and exposed high mountains and cliffs.

It likes to eat field mice, wild rabbits, and pheasants, and sometimes frogs, snakes, and lizards.

It is said to be one of the few owl species that can withstand a Basilisk's gaze; the other is the legendary Phoenix."

At this moment, a somewhat dazed voice suddenly sounded at the compartment door.

George and Colin turned to look. It was a small girl with silver eyes and dark golden-brown hair. Her skin was very White, and her eyes were large, but her gaze was not focused.

So her overall demeanor seemed somewhat ethereal and peculiar.

"Eurasian Eagle-Owls can withstand a Basilisk's gaze—I don't seem to have seen any related information about that in books," George asked, looking at the girl with some surprise.

Since he bought a Eurasian Eagle-Owl as a pet, how could he not have looked up relevant information? He had seen most of the information the girl just mentioned in his research, except for the last part.

However, whether that last part was true was quite important, because a Basilisk would indeed appear at Hogwarts this year, and it was a thousand-year-old Basilisk.

So he had to verify it carefully.
