Chapter 26 - Chapter 26 George, Luna, Colin and Ginny

The history of the Basilisk is too long, and its breeding has long been forbidden by the Ministry of Magic, so it is rarely mentioned in books, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Just like the Crumple-Horned Snorkack, Wizards don't believe this magical creature exists, but my father was fortunate enough to see one in Sweden once.

The girl tilted her head and replied.

"What is a Crumple-Horned Snorkack?"

Colin was full of curiosity.

The girl explained:

"It's a magical creature with special long horns that can't fly."

"Alright, that should be a Quintaped."

By this time, George already knew the girl's identity: Luna Lovegood.

Her father is Xenophilius Lovegood, editor-in-chief of The Quibbler magazine, and her mother, Pandora Lovegood, died accidentally while experimenting with spells when Luna was nine years old.

It is clear that without sufficient magical theory foundation, creating new spells is also a very dangerous thing.

Because of her extensive family knowledge, what Luna said about the Owl might be true, but regarding the Crumple-Horned Snorkack, he knew it was something Xenophilius fabricated to coax his daughter.

The so-called Crumple-Horned Snorkack is actually a Quintaped, and its special horn also has the danger of exploding.

"There's still a seat here; let me help you put your luggage on the rack."

Wanting to learn more from Luna about knowledge not found in books, George proactively got up to help her lift the luggage from her trolley onto the overhead rack.

"Thank you, my name is Luna Lovegood."

Luna was also very interested in the Owl, so she didn't refuse, but seeing the thin and weak George effortlessly lift her luggage onto the high rack, she couldn't help but exclaim.

"You're so strong!"

After Luna sat down, the three of them started chatting again.

However, it was mainly Colin, like a curious baby, asking questions, Luna answering, and George listening quietly, only asking when he encountered knowledge that interested him.

"Whoosh..."

A long whistle sounded, and the train was about to depart.

Just then, the compartment's sliding door suddenly opened, and a girl with thick fiery red long hair, bright brown eyes, and a delicate and lovely doll-like face walked in.

"Is anyone sitting here?"

She pointed to the seat next to Luna and asked.

"All the other places are full."

"No, you can sit next to me."

Luna smiled gently.

The girl was visibly relieved to hear that, as her brothers' absentmindedness (she certainly wouldn't admit she almost forgot that magical notebook) caused her to be among the last to board the train.

"Little Ginny, we're here to help you."

Just then, a pair of identical red-haired twin boys walked in.

They playfully helped their sister put away her luggage, then, at their sister's disgusted urging, they left, still bickering.

"Hello everyone, my name is Ginny, Ginny Weasley."

After chasing away her annoying brothers, Ginny sat next to Luna and introduced herself generously.

She wasn't a shy person, except in front of Harry.

"Luna Lovegood."

"Colin Creevey."

"George."

The three also introduced themselves.

"George, your name is the same as my brother's, one of those two just now, he's also called George, George Weasley.

By the way, what's your last name?"

"You can just call me George."

George smiled and didn't explain much.

His George and George Weasley's George, although pronounced the same, had essential differences.

George Weasley's last name is Weasley, and his first name is George, while he is actually surnamed Qiao, and his given name is Zhi, as in 'govern.' His father gave him this name, hoping he could become an official and govern a region in the future.

So, in fact, according to the local custom, he should be called Zhi Qiao.

It's just that he felt it sounded too awkward, so when talking to people, he simply told them to call him George.

"Ginny, how many brothers do you have at home?"

At this moment, the kind Colin suddenly changed the subject.

He felt that George, as an orphan, probably didn't want people to know his last name.

Ginny didn't think much of it and extended both hands, bending down four fingers:

"Six: Bill is a Curse-Breaker at Gringotts in Egypt, Charlie is a Dragon Keeper in Romania, Percy is in sixth year, George and Fred are in fourth year, you just saw them, Ron..."

"So many!"

Hearing Ginny's answer, Colin and Luna both looked surprised.

So many children, let alone a Wizard family, even a Muggle family is rare.

George listened to the three of them chatting, shifting his gaze from Ginny's suitcase, and inwardly sighed.

If all Wizard families could reproduce as much as the Weasley family, Wizards would probably have long ruled the World, and there would be no place for Muggles.

Amidst their idle chat, the train also started, departing from King's Cross Station, speeding along fields full of cattle and sheep, and rapidly heading towards Scotland.

It was their first time leaving home for a long journey, and they were going to the famous Hogwarts.

Even the quietest Luna was actually a little excited.

So, their conversation never stopped.

Because much of the content the three later discussed had nothing to do with magic, but rather their respective childhood experiences and family situations, George gradually withdrew from the conversation and began to read a book.

Around half past twelve, a smiling, dimpled Witch pushed open the compartment door and asked:

"Dear children, would you like to buy some food from the trolley?

There are Every Flavor Beans, Chewing Gum, Chocolate Frogs, Pumpkin Pasties, Cauldron Cakes, Licorice Wands..."

Facing a trolley full of magical snacks and the Witch's inquiry, the three simultaneously shook their heads.

Colin, being from a Muggle family, naturally didn't have much money; all his remaining money was spent on his magical camera.

Although Ginny was from a pure-blood family, her father had long been disowned by the family for being close to Muggles and loving Muggle items, and all the family's expenses came from her father's Ministry of Magic salary.

With so many children attending school, plus the particularly expensive Defense Against the Dark Arts Class textbooks for her brothers this year, even many of her school supplies were second-hand, so where would she get pocket money for snacks?

As for Luna, she wasn't short on pocket money, but she didn't seem to have much of a liking for snacks.

"One of each, please, thank you!"

George knew the situation of the young Wizards, got up, spent twelve Silver Sickles and five Bronze Knuts, and bought one of every snack, placing them on the table.

"Ginny, I heard you just now say you know a jinx called Bat-Bogey Hex.

I wonder if you could teach me sometime?"

He pushed a quarter of the snacks towards Ginny, whose eyes immediately lit up as she nodded:

"Of course, no problem! That's my best spell; even George and Fred have fallen victim to it."

"Luna, I'd like to ask you some questions about magical creatures."

George then pushed another quarter of the snacks towards Luna.

Luna smiled and nodded, not refusing.

Finally, George set aside his own share and pushed the remaining quarter towards Colin.

"Could you take a magical photo for me sometime? I'd like to keep it as a souvenir."
