Lina's Point of View: Evening at the Coffee Shop
When I get there, Diego is already there. When he sees me, he stands up and his face shows that he is worried right away. He knows that something is very wrong.
He hugs me tightly and asks, "Lina, what happened to you?" "You look like you've been through a lot."
I sit down across from him, and I don't know what to say. That's why I start talking. I tell him everything. I tell him about the deal. I tell him that Rio made me get engaged. Diego doesn't say anything while he listens. As I talk, his face goes from worried to shocked to barely contained rage. When I'm done, he's holding his coffee cup so tightly that his knuckles turn white.
