Chapter 10 - Ch.10

Outside of school

Koneko and Luo Guang walked side-by-side.

"Luo Guang, do you dislike the President?" the girl suddenly blurted out.

"There are many types of 'like.' Which one are you talking about?" Luo Guang asked in return.

"A regular 'like.' Whether your impression of a person is good or bad. The President isn't malicious. She's just... a little immature. But she'll become a very excellent high-ranking devil and family head."

After hearing her words, Luo Guang suddenly reached out and patted Koneko's head. "The word 'mature' doesn't really suit you, Koneko."

"I know. But the President works very hard. I just hope Luo Guang won't hate her."

"Okay, I can agree to that request. But have you been playing too much Cyberpunk 2077? Who did you learn that from?"

He had noticed the problem. The usual Koneko wouldn't be this talkative.

At this, Koneko fell silent, clearly caught by Luo Guang's observation. As a seasoned gamer, it was easy to imitate the behavior of certain characters after finishing a game. This behavior usually takes about a week to subside, as reality is very different from a game.

"By the way, did you know it has a spin-off anime?" Luo Guang said.

They were nearing the school gates. The conversation with Rias had caused most of the students to leave already.

"Luo Guang... do you have it? I didn't get a copy on the pre-release date," Koneko's eyes lit up with excitement.

"I do. It's at my place. Do you want to come get it?"

"Yes!" Koneko agreed immediately without any hesitation.

In the old school building

Akeno Himejima watched the two of them leave, then turned to Rias and joked, "It looks like Koneko is much more charming than us."

"Koneko is just pure and innocent. Few boys would ever refuse a beautiful girl like her," Rias grumbled in a muffled voice.

She then poked half of her face out from behind the table and whispered, "I'm so jealous."

Thinking about the engagement that had plagued her for so long, she sighed.

"Excuse me for the intrusion."

At the entrance, Koneko took off her school-issued loafers, revealing her feet in white socks, and then put on a pair of indoor slippers. She followed Luo Guang into the living room.

"Make yourself at home. I'll go get the disc. You can stay for dinner, too."

"Okay," Koneko replied. She put down her school bag, sat on the living room sofa, leaned against it, and picked up the remote to turn on the TV. It was clear that she was already quite familiar with the place.

Just then, a faint energy that made Koneko's heart skip a beat appeared, and the silver-haired sword spirit materialized behind her.

"Are you here to play again today?" Est asked.

"Mhm." Koneko looked at the little girl and nodded slightly, seemingly returning to her usual emotionless self.

After their relationship with Luo Guang grew closer, it was only natural for her relationship with Est to improve as well.

"This is a gift. I bought it from the Underworld," Koneko said, pulling out a small gift. It was a classic, popular snack from the Underworld.

Est's mouth began to water as she watched Koneko unwrap the gift. After sleeping for most of the day, it was the perfect time to get hungry.

When Luo Guang came downstairs, he saw the sight of two "kuuderes" eating snacks. He had to admit that from a distance, some people might mistake them for sisters. After all, they were both emotionless, both had silver hair, and the only difference was that Koneko was slightly taller than Est.

"Here you go. This spin-off anime is perfect for watching alone at home. It's only ten episodes long."

Koneko carefully took the disc and put it in her school bag.

While Est was focused on her snacks, Koneko seemed to remember something and asked, "Luo Guang, how is your magic cultivation coming along?"

"I've managed to refine some magical power and can use some simple spells," Luo Guang replied.

Because of his ability, he had asked the now-familiar Koneko about how to use magic.

In this world, magic was defined differently than in other worlds. It was not a generic term but a special ability that only devils or their servants could use. Of course, humans could also use it, but they either had to make a contract with a devil to produce magical power in their bodies or perform a ritual to set up a magic circle or magical circuit to become a magician.

But Luo Guang didn't need to do any of that. After getting the magical cultivation method from Koneko, he tried to use the cursed energy in his body to generate magical power, and he naturally succeeded.

"That's incredible!" Koneko's eyes widened slightly.

Although Luo Guang had said it casually, anyone in the know would understand how difficult that was. And she knew that Luo Guang would never sign any contracts or have magical circuits or magic circles implanted in his body. Being able to use magical power with a human body and no other resources was a sign of a genius in the Underworld.
