Chapter 16 - Ch.16

When Luo Guang used his understanding and wisdom to forcefully refine the power of light, he successfully resolved the repulsive reaction between the magical and sacred powers, preventing him from going berserk and tragically self-destructing.

In this process, the existence of Immortal Qi helped a lot.

After all, all things in the universe had "Qi." As a source of life, it served as a calming agent for these two opposing energies.

Luo Guang could now condense magical power in his left hand and sacred power in his right.

Holy-Demon Fusion?

Luo Guang suddenly remembered how in the original story, Yuuto Kiba, a devil, was initially just the wielder of a Demonic Sword. Later, after a deep realization, he was able to use both the Holy Sword and Demonic Sword attributes at the same time. However, that required years of accumulation and a sudden burst of power.

Luo Guang tried to merge the two energies that were supposed to repel each other. After all, fusion in any universe tends to result in great power. For example, two basic monsters from Yu-Gi-Oh! could fuse into a powerful Red-Eyes Black Dragon. And in Dragon Ball, Goku and Vegeta could fuse to become the strongest Vegito or Gogeta.

Luo Guang drew out the power of his devilish attributes. In the Underworld, the magical powers of each pure-blooded devil family were quite different in color and ability. For example, the Gremory family's specialty was the Power of Destruction, which was a deep red. Of course, the main colors of devil power were still dark or other vibrant shades.

The sacred power was simply "light," or the light of a god, and was naturally a pure gold color.

The reddish magical power in Luo Guang's left hand coiled around it like a thread, while the power of light in his right hand was like a cluster of light, with sparks overflowing like fireflies.

He slowly brought the two powers into contact.

Then... boom!

As expected, they exploded.

Although the two powers could exist harmoniously within Luo Guang's body, once they left his body, they returned to their natural state of being incompatible.

But he was not surprised. If it were that easy to fuse two different attributes, someone in this world would have already done it.

Luo Guang was not in a hurry. Even with his "cheat" ability, cultivation takes time. Even a disciple of the Wind Spirit Moon Shadow Sect would first need to hear the ding of a power-up.

Seeing that it was late, Luo Guang went to sleep after showering.

The Next Day

Luo Guang arrived at school as usual. No one in the class was discussing the incident he was involved in last night. Although the world was a bit bizarre, the supernatural factions still maintained a firm control from behind the scenes.

In the world of Tokyo Ghoul, the Commission of Counter Ghoul was a well-known organization, but in this world, it was just a secret government unit, similar to the National Security Bureau or a special unit often found in novels. Even if a major incident occurred that couldn't be covered up, they would simply use an explosion as a cover story or perform large-scale memory manipulation to modify people's memories.

Luo Guang specifically looked toward Touka Kirishima's desk. As a "special" individual, she had good grades and wore glasses. Sitting in the front row, she gave off the image of a studious student. And in reality, she was. Luo Guang noticed how hardworking Touka was. Aside from school, she would chat with her friends and could even eat the cafeteria food without any issues, unlike in the original story, where she would vomit and find human food inedible.

Luo Guang found it hard to understand this characteristic of ghouls. Although the reason ghouls ate humans was due to the special RC cells in their bodies, ordinary food had different flavors and ingredients, so how could it cause a repulsive reaction?

Touka, who was laughing and chatting with her classmates, suddenly saw Luo Guang. Remembering the events of last night, her face turned pale, and she subconsciously fell silent.

"Huh? Touka, what's wrong? You suddenly stopped talking. Are you not feeling well?" her classmate asked.

"No... no," Touka's expression was unnatural as she sensed Luo Guang's gaze. But he quickly looked away, which made her sigh in relief. Although he had spared them last night, the psychological trauma he left was not small.

"Touka... you were just staring at Luo Guang-kun, weren't you? Could it be that you have a crush on him?" her classmate asked in surprise.

"How... how could that be?" Touka found the idea absurd. She was trying to avoid him. Just thinking about him sitting behind her made her feel like she was sitting on pins and needles, and she constantly shifted in her seat.

"No need to explain. It's totally normal for you to have a crush on him. I do, too. Touka, from now on, we're rivals!"

"???"
