Chapter 18 - Ch.18

"Akeno, I'm not here for Rias today," Sona Sitri said with a slight smile, her eyes fixed on Luo Guang.

The girl was wearing the school uniform. Her medium-length black hair hung down like tassels, and her eyes were a purplish-red. Her figure was slimmer than both Rias's and Akeno's. Her glasses gave her a sophisticated, bookish look.

"If you're not here for the President, then...?" Akeno already had the answer in her heart.

Then everyone watched as Sona Sitri nodded slightly toward Luo Guang. "Luo Guang-kun, I'm here for you."

Hearing this, Rias frowned slightly. "Why are you looking for Luo Guang?"

Sona glanced at her and said with a light chuckle, "I just have a favor to ask of Luo Guang-kun."

"Are you trying to recruit Luo Guang as your servant?" Rias asked, her expression unfriendly.

"No, I won't do that again. Luo Guang-kun has his own pride and strength. Recruiting him as a servant would be a waste of his talents," Sona said, ignoring Rias's sudden tense look. She then took out a black obsidian crest with the Sitri family emblem engraved on it. "Luo Guang-kun, I hope to establish a partnership with you."

With Sona's explanation, everyone understood the situation. The reason was simple, and it was the same as Rias's. Strange incidents were happening frequently in the city she managed, and she needed more help, so she decided to ask Luo Guang for assistance.

"Sona, I was here first. Luo Guang-kun has already established a partnership with me," Rias said, her eyebrows raised.

Seriously? she thought. Even though Sona and I are friends, isn't this too much of a challenge? Is she trying to poach him right in front of me?

"It's just a partnership. Who said Luo Guang-kun can only accept requests from you, Rias? This is something he should decide for himself," Sona said. She adjusted her glasses. "Luo Guang-kun, you don't have to take on every request. If there's a suitable request, just go. After you've completed it, I'll send you the compensation immediately."

"Alright." Luo Guang nodded.

This was a perfect opportunity to continue to hone his skills through real missions. Combat experience was always more effective than training in isolation.

Seeing Luo Guang agree, Rias felt a sense of loss, as if her boyfriend had been stolen.

After saying goodbye to Rias and Sona Sitri, Luo Guang continued with his afternoon classes.

When school ended, students gathered in groups of twos and threes. They either went to club activities or headed home.

Luo Guang sat in his seat by the window in the back row and caught a glimpse of a scene that piqued his interest.

At the school gate, the main character of the original story, Issei Hyoudou, stood there, looking lost and helpless. In front of him was a beautiful girl with long, black hair.

Issei's face was flushed, and he scratched the back of his head, clearly at a loss for what to do.

Seeing this, Luo Guang gave a slight smile.

Even though the world was strange, what was destined to happen would still happen.

The fallen angel Raynare had her eyes on the Sacred Gear in Issei's body, but since she wasn't sure what its rank was, she would first approach him and gather information before making her next move.

However, Luo Guang did not intend to interfere yet. He just kept an eye on them. Raynare was not very intelligent, and it would take her a while to figure out the true nature of the Sacred Gear in Issei's body.

Of course, Luo Guang knew what the main character's Sacred Gear was. In this world, Sacred Gears were created by the God of the Bible, and they had all sorts of abilities, just like superpowers. Many great figures in history were Sacred Gear possessors who became famous through the power of their Sacred Gears.

While most Sacred Gears could only affect human society, a few could threaten supernatural factions and even kill gods. These Sacred Gears were called Longinus. Even among them, some were more powerful than others.

The Sacred Gear that resided in Issei Hyoudou's body was a high-tier Longinus, the Boosted Gear. Its ability was to increase the user's power and pierce through defenses. The effect was simple but incredibly useful.

It wouldn't be a bad idea to get his hands on the Boosted Gear to play with.

And Luo Guang had not forgotten about his Dimensional Portal ability. The other side of the portal led to the world of Campione!. Even with his current power, which was at the top of a Great Knight, he was still nothing in the eyes of a Campione. But if he could get the Boosted Gear, his path would be much easier.

With that thought, Luo Guang checked the energy progress of his Dimensional Portal.

10.1%... still a long way to go.
