The next day at school. Maya walked through the hallway, she could feel eyes on her, turning around she sees Lexy approaching her, she could only sigh.
"Hey, I heard you were at Adrian's house yesterday, so tell me did he fuck you?" she shamelessly asked
"Fuck you Lexy" Maya muttered as she walked away in disgust, today she was really going to avoid Adrian at any cost she just wasn't up for any drama.
"Hey" someone called out, turning around Maya is shocked to see its Kelly
"I'm so sorry for how I've been acting lately, I missed you" she said
"awwn Kelly I missed you to, and I wished you had given me a chance to explain things out, I know you like Xavier, so there is nothing going on between us" Maya explained taking Kelly's hands in hers.
"Promise? If he should be with another girl at least it shouldn't be my own best friend right" she said with a smile
"I promise, in fact I'm going to set up a way for you and Xavier to spend some time" Maya said
"Don't do that!" Kelly blushed, both girls just laughed, holding hands and enjoying each other company.
"What is wrong with you Adrian, why are you giving me a cold shoulder" Ariana yelled
"keep it down, you are gonna draw attention and Reed isn't going to be quite about it" Adrian replied taking a sip of his drink, legs crossed as he sat majestically.
"Fuck, Adrian, what is wrong with you, I mean I know you are a cold person but now you are acting like I mean nothing"
"Because you don't" he said coldly, as he got up, taking some steps closer to her, she backed up till her back hit the wall,
"Listen carefully Ariana, our parents wants us to be close to each other only for business purposes, so stop taking it personal" his voice low and heavy.
"If not for me, we would have been engaged but I rejected the proposal because I thought we were friends and that you weren't ready for any commitment, I did it for you" her voice breaking, Adrian just pinched the furrowed skin in between his eyebrows.
"So? Isn't being friends enough for you? We can only be more than that in your wildest dreams, Ariana please wake up" he sounded irritated.
"Is this how you treat a close friend?" she asked
"Am bored, get out" he casually said as he returned back to his seat
"So I bore you Adrian Cole? Tell me does she bore you? Huh... Does Maya bore you?" she blurted
"Absolutely not, Maya is very interesting, honestly I find myself going after her in different ways, unhealthy right? Hell she migh even be better in bed than you" he said with a sly laugh
"Screw you Adrian!" she yelled stomping her feat as she left with anger.
"She is soo dramatic, pls just fuck her and make her shut up" Reed cried out even more dramatically.
Maya found herself in that uncomfortable position again, in class Xavier seated by her side and Adrian seated behind her, she could only sigh, wishing they could just go back to having their special class.
"Alright everyone, submit your work, I'll pick out the best team, and the winning team gets to compete with other class teams and hopefully represents us at the school debate finals" the teacher said
"What.... We are supposed to submit today?" Maya half yelled
"Yes, aren't you in the school platform" Xavier asked, she just silently shook her head "I'll add you" he said as he pulled out his phone and quickly added her "done"
"what do I do, mine isn't ready yet" Maya panicked
"It's okay maybe you could beg the teacher later" Xavier said, Maya could only rest her head on her desk, she knew it was over, she didn't stand a chance 'you will pay for this Adrian' she muttered quietly.
"Alright class, busy yourselves with some extra curriculum work, while I go through this" the teacher informed.
"Hope you didn't catch a cold yesterday" Xavier asked, Maya could only smile at him and watch him talk meanwhile her mind were somewhere else..... She was thinking about him, Adrian Cole except this time she was busy thinking on how to get back at her.
Meanwhile Adrian could only watch from behind how Xavier was talking and Maya just kept smiling, his eyes trailed down her lips, it was beautifully curved into a smile, she looked so innocent while smiling like that, Adrian deepest part actually wished she was smiling at him 'what the hell is wrong with you Adrian' he yelled at himself mentally.
"Alright class, we have a winner and I don't want you guys thinking I was bias, but this piece is the best" the teacher said, Maya released a low growl,she didn't see the point of even paying attention, she brought out a book and started writing the lyrics of her favourite song.
"The team who had the best work is.... Mr Adrian Cole and Miss Maya Summer, give a round of applause for them" the teacher said.
Maya was dead shocked, for the first time that day she slowly turned her head back just to catch a glimpse of his face, he sat there gracefully with a smirk on his face, she could only sigh, of course he won, he is Adrian Cole at least she benefited from it too.
Maya made sure not to think about Adrian that whole day, well she still had to meet up with him at his house, she decided to focus on Xavier, she also somehow made ways to hook him up with Kelly.
"You know you don't have to keep going to his house" Xavier said.
"it's okay, besides I have a plan and I'll only carry it out by going to his house" Maya said with a mischievous grin
"Oh I like that, but be careful tho, his dad might come around today" Xavier informed
"That's good"
"hmm what do you plan on doing, pls do not kill my stupid bestie" he said making puppy faces
"For you, I'll hold back" she joked, Maya was so satisfied after hearing the fact that Victor might show up today, she suspected that Adrian was scared of his father, today she wanted to be sure and if he is then she is really going to mess him up real bad, Maya thought to herself with a smile.
