Maya moaned to the sound of her phone ringing, she wondered who would be calling her so late at night "Hello...." She said with a sleepy voice
"Um... Maya, am so sorry for calling late at night but Um... Can you please meet me at the city hospital now" Xavier's voice came from the other end
"What? Xavier, what happened" she said alerted, the sleep leaving her eyes
"Adrian got into a car accident.... Just come over" he said before hanging up
Maya was devastated, she couldn't believe it, her mind was in a haze, she started feeling guilty of that stuff when you just upset someone and then next thing you know is the person isn't sure of survival, she just wished she hadn't upset him earlier.
"Mum... I'll be back, please do not worry" Maya said, assuring her mum, who was already freaking out.
"Alright honey, call me if you need anything" Kate said before giving her daughter a peck

"What are the doctors saying? How is he doing?" Maya asked, worry etched on her face, she didn't even realise she was so worried for him.
"The only thing they said to me was he lost a lot of blood by the time he was found, and a few broken bones, we can't see him now" Xavier said with a sigh, he sat down burying his face on his palm
Maya rubbed his arm, to comfort him "he's going to be fine, he is a fighter, he will fight through" Maya said with a reassuring smile
"I hope so.... I wonder why he was speeding so much, maybe his dad pissed him off so badly today he just hurt himself" Xavier said, his words poking Maya, she wondered if Adrian's dad had really pissed Adrian off to this extent then it was all her fault.
The thought of it was tearing her apart "is that how bad their relationship is?" she asked with a low voice
"I'm afraid yes" Xavier mutters. "You seem really worried for someone who has been messing with you" he points out, noticing how worried Maya was.
"Um... I am a human with conscience" she replies, just then a doctor walk up to them
"We would love to see his parents" he said
"His dad is on his way here, can we see him, we are Um... His siblings" Xavier said and Maya just smiled along with the lie, the doctor clearly didn't buy the lie but he allowed them to see him. He was still asleep and wrapped in bandage
"I should go home now," Maya said, she felt so guilty seeing him like this
"Um OK, thanks for being here anyways" they both hugged each other, then Maya left the hospital.

"Oh my gosh Adrian are you okay, look almost everyone at school sent you a get well soon card" Ariana said, she hadn't left his side for hours
"Let him rest Ariana" Xavier butted in, tired of her yapping "I have to go.... I'll be back" Xavier said then left
"Why won't you speak, talk to me Adrian" Ariana pressed on
"What a bitch" he mutters beneath his breath "I just fought to escaped death and you are already making me regret it, why the fuck are you here" Adrian said coldly, irritated by her presence
"I know you don't see it yet, but I am here for you and I'll always be Adrian because I love you and I can't stop, you are all I think about" she confesses
"Take your obsession and fuck off, I need to sleep" he says before turning his back on her, pretending to fall asleep
"I'll go get you something to eat" she says before leaving the room.
Just then Maya sneaks in, she didn't want anyone to see her coming to visit Adrian, because she herself wasn't even sure why she wanted to see him, but ever since she left the hospital that night, she just couldn't rest, she walked up to his bed, he was asleep or rather faking it, Adrian kept pretending to be asleep, because he noticed someone sneaking in, he wondered why anyone would sneak to see him, so he just kept faking being asleep.
"I'm so stupid for being here, I'm just somehow glad you didn't die" Maya said, Adrian was shocked to hear her voice, she really came to visit him, plus she was happy he was alive. "I shouldn't have said that to your dad and I'm sorry" she says then turns to leave but suddenly he grabs her hand, Maya turns back to see him staring at her, his eyes weren't dull as usual it had a different look it only lasted for a second then came that annoying smirk Maya hated.
"Glad you came to see me, or more like sneaked"
"I just felt guilty and came to say sorry, nothing much because unlike you I have a conscience" she says
"I'm glad I didn't die at least not without giving you a little pay back"
"leave my hand, someone might come here and I don't want that" Maya panic, too late Ariana had just walked in staring at the two she felt jealousy burn through her, she just doesn't understand how this girl gets much attention and reaction from Adrian
"Um... I was just leaving" Maya says with a polite smile as she tried yanking her hands out
"I want you to stay here, with me Maya, or else Ariana is going to bore me back to death with her love confession" he states coldly, yanking her forcefully she trips and falls on him, faces inches apart, both just stared deep into each other for seconds, their eyes had a sparkle a glint of something, they could see it in each other eyes, the heat between their skin was obviously hard to conceal or ignore.
Just then a cough interrupts, Maya immediately pulls herself up "I'm leaving" she says with her head down as she walked pass Ariana
"Please go as well" Adrian groans
"You are really a fucked up douchbag, just tell me what's in her that I don't have" Ariana yells
"Nothing, she is a piece of nothing, don't you ever for one day think I feel anything for that thing..... And neither do I feel anything for you, for christ sake just leave me the fuck alone Ariana" Adrian was clearly losing it, there was no way on earth he liked Maya, but why he had all this foreign feelings was something he didn't understand, he was afraid of it and a little part of him wanted to embrace him.

"I just want to kill you Maya!!!" Ariana yells as she hops into her car, starting the engine she watches Maya from afar as she had just left the hospital, with rage she hit the accelerator, driving in full speed towards Maya, she was going to run Maya over.
