Raina cast a confused look at the man sitting comfortably on a swivel chair like the boss he was. "What.did.you.say?" She hoped she heard him wrong.She badly did.
"I am asking you to act as his contract girlfriend.Vernon." the man whispered his words.Ironically afraid someone would hear even though they were in a secluded office.
"No.I won't!" Raina said almost snapping.The man was shocked! She refused without a second thought.Who would refuse gold on a platter.Was she in her right mind?
The man cleared his throat and spoke. "You are not seeming to get it my dear.This will make you pop---" "I said I don't want to!" Raina said cuttingly,She soon realized who she was talking to and immediately apologized. "Thanks for the offer sir.....but I won't take it,make someone else do it." She added calmly and made to leave.The door knob a few inches away from her hand when the man's voice made her halt. "Don't you need money for your sister's surgery?" Raina stood motionless.She was hit by his words.He was right,she needed money,a crazy amount of it. Bailey's condition weighed heavily on her.She would go crazy if she loses the only family she has left.But how could she meet him,let alone act as his fake lover.Why did it have to be him? If it had been someone else,she would gladly accept the offer.
