Finally, a Student Council member arrived at the freshman corridor and pinned the list of nominees onto the bulletin board. The moment he walked away, the crowd that had gathered immediately pressed forwrd, voices rising in a wave of chatter as students scanned the names.
Later, as Emillia and I made our way home from the library, she slowed near the bulletin board by the freshman corridor entrance to take a closer look at the official list. Her eyes darted quickly down the page until they landed on her own name.

Emillia's face lit up the instant she saw her name under Class Treasurer.
"It's official now," she whispered, her grin wide, her voice carrying a mix of pride and nervous excitement.
"I'm one step closer to my goal. Now I just need to focus on writing my speech and designing banners for the campaign," she said, practically glowing with purpose.
I glanced at the list, then back at her, and only gave a small nod. I could see how much it meant to her, but for me it was just another piece of paper. Elections, speeches, school activities- it all felt distant, like something happening in the background of my life.
Beneath the list, a notice was mentioned on the bulletin board stating that all Freshman Council candidates for each position would deliver their speeches on Monday, September 4th.
As we made our way towrd the school gates, the haallway buzzed with energy. Everywhere, freshmen chattered excitedly about the nominees as they headed home.
On the walk back, Emilia quickened her pace, her mind clearly brimming with ideas. Before parting she called over her shoulder:
"I am coming over to your house later this evening- I got so many ideas for my speech and banners I need to run by you," she said, darting ahead without waiting for my reply.
