The reporters surged forward, cameras and microphones raised like weapons, hungry for a story. Draconis stepped in front of Mai, shielding her instinctively.

They looked ravenous—like a pack of hyenas who'd just spotted fresh meat. Mai's grip on Draconis's hand tightened.

He glanced back, offering a reassuring smile. "Relax. You've handled these vultures more times than I have."

Mai's composure returned, her voice steady. "Exactly. Let me do the talking."

She wanted to protect him now. She knew all too well how ruthless the press could be—black could be spun into white, and a single misstep could turn into a disaster. If she didn't step up, Draconis would be torn apart.

But Draconis shook his head, stopping her. "It's pointless. No matter what we say, they won't let us off the hook."

He understood the game. With entertainment reporters and paparazzi, explanations meant nothing. Even if they clarified, the story would get twisted, headlines would bait clicks, and rumors would fly.

Mai frowned, confused. Despite his words, Draconis seemed perfectly calm, almost cocky. Like he had a secret weapon.

She forced herself to stay cool—Draconis wasn't reckless. If he was this confident, there had to be a reason.

The reporters finally reached them, microphones thrust forward, boxing them in.

"Miss Mai, hello! Shinraku Entertainment—can we get a comment?"

"Evening Entertainment here—just a quick question!"

The crowd was a mess of voices, everyone scrambling for the first scoop. Draconis frowned, then stepped forward, power pulsing beneath his skin.

A sudden wave of pressure rolled off him. For a moment, he seemed larger, almost intimidating. His eyes flashed—cold, dangerous.

The reporters flinched, instinctively stepping back. No one knew why, but the kid felt… scary.

Draconis's voice was calm, almost bored. "Can I help you?"

A nervous female reporter raised her hand. "Uh, we wanted to ask… what's your relationship with Mai Sakurajima?"

"I'm her boyfriend," Draconis replied, deadpan.

Cameras whirred. The press turned to Mai for confirmation, but she stood quietly behind Draconis, saying nothing. Silence was as good as a yes.

One bold reporter pounced. "There are rumors your boyfriend is seeing other girls. Are you aware of this, Miss Mai?"

The crowd leaned in—this was the juicy stuff.

Mai stepped forward, cool as ice. "That's just gossip."

The reporter wasn't satisfied, turning the mic on Draconis. "What do you say to that?"

Draconis smiled, slow and deliberate. "So what if it's true? Does it matter?"

Mai's eyes widened. Was he trying to hand them ammunition? Had he slipped up?

She racked her brain for a way to spin his words, but before she could, the reporters pressed harder.

"You think two-timing is okay?"

"Why not?" Draconis shot back. "I'm going to two-time. Got a problem with that?"

No one noticed the faint blue glow flickering in his eyes.

The reporters froze, then their faces went slack. Suddenly, they started nodding along.

"Yeah… it's not a big deal…"

"Stuff like that doesn't matter at all…"

Mai stared, stunned. What the hell was happening?

Had they all lost their minds?

Draconis grinned. The spell was working.

The press stood there, muttering to themselves, completely under his control. Mai caught on fast.

"What did you do to them?" she whispered.

"Just a simple spell," Draconis replied, amused. "I tweaked their common sense."

"Changed their common sense?" Mai echoed, still baffled.

Draconis explained patiently. "Take embarrassment. Normally, people think streaking down the street is humiliating, right? But with my spell, they'd see it as perfectly normal."

He leaned in, eyes sparkling with mischief. "Want me to make them demonstrate?"

"No!" Mai yelped, horrified.

Was this really possible? This was beyond demonic.

"You can actually do that… That's insane…" she muttered.

Draconis shrugged. "I am a demon, after all."

He'd learned the spell from Rias and the others. Demons, angels, fallen angels—they'd all mastered these tricks. Even when supernatural battles broke out, humans never caught on. The reason? Spells like this.

With common sense altered, even if demons and angels fought naked in the streets, humans wouldn't bat an eye.

It was simple, but terrifying. And every supernatural being used it.

Draconis had mastered it too. That's why he wasn't afraid of the press—they were the easiest problem to solve.
