Chapter 14 - CHAPTER 14 - HER DREAM [4]

"You know me?". Rufus asked confused.

"Is this what you've become?".

"Who are you?".

"Mr Veyron would be rolling in his grave right now".

"You know my Master?". Rufus suddenly took an interest in her.

Victor stood by his wife while he watched the two converse.

"Would you just tell me who the f**k you're?. Or do whatever you want to me". Rufus got uncomfortable with Zyra's glare.

"You gave me my first tattoo on my back and were about to stab me in the same back".

Rufus knitted his brows in thought. "Zyra? No, no way it can't be". He had mixed feelings, should he be happy or vexed?.

Zyra turned around, unbuttoning the two top buttons of her nightwear. She pulled down the shirt on her left-hand side a little lower, revealing a tattoo of two chains intertwined firmly with each other.

Rufus was in shock. His mouth flew open but only air escaped.

"Do you still not believe it's me". Zyra spoke calmly.

"Oh my God. Explains the perfection. I thought you were the prettiest that existed then, but that was just a little of what you are now. Zy, you're beautiful".

Zyra rolled her eyes. She couldn't understand men, and their lusting over her, even in the position he was right now, all he could do was praise her beauty.

"You'd better take your eyes off my wife or else I'll pluck them out". Victor warned sternly. Standing in front of his wife in defense.

"You're Mr Hale, right? You were the one who stole her from me. You rich people and using your money to get whatever you want".

"You were never worthy of her".

"You can't tell me that". Both men were ready to fight.

"Guys, cut it out, please. What matters is you were here to kill me".

"No I wasn't. I swear I never knew it was you. I was only following my boss's order. She simply said her worst enemy had come to leave here and we had to kill you. I didn't know it was you".

"Who's your boss?". Zyra asked but Rufus looked distracted.

"But if she knew it was you, why would she ask me to kill you?". His face fell.

"Who is she?". Zyra yelled pissed.

"Emily". He spoke in a low voice.

The look of frustration and anger on Zyra's face suddenly changed to that of surprise and disappointment.

"My father told me this day would come but I refused to believe him".

"Emily wants to kill me?". She asked a rhetorical question.

Victor pulled her close to himself to comfort her.

"It's late into the night. We should get some rest first tomorrow we'll speak about this". Victor spoke. The housekeeper had led every other person out of the panic room.

"Rufus, you'll take me to her tomorrow".

"Whatever you say, boss".

Victor untied him and led his wife up to the room.

By morning the following day, everyone had breakfast and returned to their individual rooms. Zyra was getting ready to go out and see Emily, and Victor assisted her while attending a Zoom meeting. Suddenly, she felt a sharp pain in her head, accompanied by a sharp vision and a loud bang in the lobby.

"Ahhh". She screamed shortly. Holding her head.

"Zy, are you fine?". Victor hurried to her.

The couple hurried downstairs after Zyra had affirmed to him that she was fine. Everyone ran out of their rooms to meet a terrifying sight.

An exceptionally beautiful young lady, with vibrant skin, eyes shining a dark shade of red, with an unusual threaded skirt revealing the glory of her skin. Everyone stared in lust.

She dipped her index finger in the fresh blood of the guard she had just slit his throat with her claw-sharp nails and put it in her mouth, savoring the taste. While the man lay lifeless in a pool of his own blood.

She approached them gracefully.

"Why did you kill him?". Zyra spoke ever so fearlessly, staring into her eyes.

"Mmm. He was in my way". She spoke in a gentle but frightening voice.

"How did you get in here?". Victor asked equally bravely.

"Oh, there are a million ways to get in".

Everyone shivered as she approached them. She walked up to Zyra, who didn't seem to show any form of fear. She sniffed her to get a particular scent before moving away and speaking.

"You were right, Nerina, she's one of us".

Everyone looked around to see who she was speaking to. An equally beautiful young girl stepped out from behind the thick cotton her eyes a reflection of calm ocean blue waters. Her skin glowed and her appearance was very seductive.

She walked up to them. Zyra was shocked.

"It was you. I saw you I'm my dream".

"Yes. I found you". Her voice was also gentle and soothing to the soul.

"Sorry, I'm not a warrior. I don't handle violent killing well. I play mind games and manipulate people to their death. Sirens have to kill to survive". She explained her hiding behind the cotton.

"I'm not one of you". Zyra continued in denial.

"If you weren't. I wouldn't be able to track you. You hear the whispers, don't you? It's just yours is a bit different. We'll figure that out, but you have to come with us. We have a lot to discuss, but not here".

"Just go with them. Everything around you is trouble". Genevieve sneered.

In milliseconds, Thalindra had teleported and was now standing in front of her, revealing her fangs and her claws, ready to pounce on her. Genevieve had frozen in fear.

"Stop. Don't hurt". Zyra immediately ordered.

"I don't like her". Thalindra sneered.

"I don't like her either but you can't kill her".

Thalindra folded her hands into a fist.

"Sleep". As soon as the word left her mouth in melody. Genevieve fell into a deep sleep. She was caught halfway to the ground by Hazel and Sofie.

"We have to leave now". Thalindra spoke her words always carried authority.

"Why do I have to go with you".

"Because we need you and you need us. I can feel it in your veins, you're what completes us". Nerina spoke running her fingers from Zyra's elbow to her palm.

As she held Zyra's palm, her eyes lit bright ocean blue, and Zyra's lit, liquid silver. Thalindra also walked up to them, holding both their hands to complete the circle, her eyes lit dark red that simmered like blood in water. A thin line of smoke emanated from each of their bodies, entangling them in the air above them.

"What is this?". Zyra asked, looking up at the smoke.

"The three guides of the ocean. It's only found in royalty. The healer, the protector, and the royal head. We're sisters born for each other".

Zyra wasn't finding it easy to take in all the things happening around her.

"Which are you?". She asked Nerina.

"I'm the healer, Thalindra is the protector, and you're the royal head. Thalindra has been playing your role to keep the kingdom".

"No. I can't be".

"It's the silver bloom. The silver bloom is always the royal head. Anyway, we can discuss all of this later. You have to come with us. You're already past your silver age, so you should have already mastered your siren side. You started having the dreams when you turned 26 because your risk increased and your chances of survival reduced. I had to find you because if you turn thirty without mastering your siren side, you'll die once the moonlight comes out on the night we turn thirty. We all die cause we'll never be complete. You won't last longer than 30".

Everyone was wide-eyed in shock. Zyra turned to her husband, staring deep into his eyes, asking his permission, and Victor granted it, even though he wanted to be a part of her everyday life. She could die at 30 and he couldn't afford for it to happen.

"Even if I am to leave with you guys, I can't. My family is in danger". Zyra spoke worriedly.

"Your house was attacked last night we were aware". Nerina spoke calmly.

"I'll arrange an army to guard your house. Human power is nothing compared to ours. They'll be on guard till you return". Thalindra spoke reassuringly.

"Come with me. I'll show you". She led everyone over to the shore of the river.

She immediately started singing a melody strong and powerful to shake the water bodies. As her song proceeded, different sirens, about a dozen of them, rose out of the water, approaching them, their beauty radiant, but their aura fearful. As soon as they got to the three ladies they bowed in respect.

"Rise". Thalindra commanded her army, and they obeyed.

Thalindra immediately began using hand signs to communicate with them. "Malrik, I need you and your army to guard the house at all times. Nobody gets in without his permission". By him, she referred to Victor, and she clearly pointed him out.

"Yes, your highness". Malik, who was the commander of the warriors, signed back.

He turned around displacing orders using signs. The army understood and immediately went back to water after taking their bow.

Malrik turned back to the girls and bowed.

"Malrik has to return to water. They can't stay on land for long except under the moonlight. Unlike us because we're hybrid sirens. They also don't speak human language. Thalindra and I learned that on our own, sirens don't speak, we sign. We'll teach you all that don't worry". Nerina spoke smiling calmly at her Zyra.

Malrik returned to the water. Zyra ran into her husband's arms. She was going to leave, and she didn't know when she'd return. The couple shared a long, passionate kiss and remained in each other's arms until it was time to go. The two girls held her by her hand, and the three stepped into the water until they were completely submerged.

Victor remained by the water's side until it was late into the night before he went back into the house.
