Chapter 6 - Divinity

The sunset gleamed down on them with a beautiful red orange glow.

Phuture had finally found Celie's family and successfully freed their plantation, fighting alongside The American Army and Navy.

Willie Lou came with bad news, informing Celie and Terrance that their mother was murdered.

Phuture couldn't help but to wonder if their mother had transmigrated as well, and she pondered if Dark was curious of the same.

Celie's mother was killed for helping her children escape go free, and it's hurting my heart as if she was my true mother. I don't know if the poor girl will be okay...she lost everyone who loved her most.

Terrance wrapped both arms around his baby sister tightly and allowed her to sob into his chest. She cried, screamed, and sobbed for minutes until the platoon moved forward.

They would come across a few deceased slaves, one of them confirmed by Terrance to be their mother.

Not a transmigration like Terrance and Celie, thank the gods.

"Mother!" A young man's voice shouted, catching Phuture's attention.

She turned to see the young man approaching her, the kid a spitting image of Celie with a light skin tone. He was only a few years younger than Willie Lou, about twelve or thirteen years old. She had assumed Celie's baby boy was much younger, but he was a tall and strong young man.

"Chicago!" Terrance shouted, again to remind Phuture of her relative.

Phuture hugged the young man tightly, truly happy to see he was still alive and well. The goal of reaching their plantation and setting them free was accomplished, and now she could focus on using her divine energy to go home.

"Are we free?" Willie Lou asked Terrance. "Where will we bury mama?"

Terrance answered confidently. "With papa."

Considering the fact that she still wasn't able to detect much of her spiritual energy, Phuture began to assume that it may not be in her control. Still, she seeked to immediately seperate from the family and attempt to use her divinity.

"Willie Lou...stay with Chicago while Terrance and I run to check something at the school." Phuture asked. "Please?"

Phuture grasped Terrance by the arm and scurried back to the school, leaving Willie Lou and Chicago behind under Union supervision.

They'd close the front door after reaching the school and double check to assure they were alone inside.

Phuture placed Celie's bible on one of the classroom desk, she said. "Do you think we have enough power to go home?"

"No." Terrance answered quickly. "We don't have enough spiritual energy yet, we're gonna have to wait awhile longer. Maybe Valeur cursed our souls..."

"I was thinking that as well." Phuture tossed her head back, rubbing her forehead with the palm of her fingers while flowing her curly natural hair. "I'm ready to go! We just brought our daughter into the world!"

"She contains your divine life energy...remember she has the potential of being stronger than both of us combined. Let's put our trust in her."

Phuture nodded. "So we continue fighting alongside The American Army?"

Phuture just wished she could remember things on her own without the help of Terrance. But, perhaps she had been shot in the head and her memories were broken like their soul.

Her memories from being at home were cloudy and not adjacent, there was many pieces of her memory that were obviously missing. For example, Phuture approached the bible to perform her divine technique but couldn't remember how to commence the technique.

Not only was Celie's memories fragmented, but Phuture's memories of her own power were vague and difficult to hold.

Terrance shot her an expressionless glance and hurriedly walked over to take Celie's bible. He read through some notes and journaling inside the bible, after a few minutes he would close the book while wearing a grin.

"Yes, this bible!" Terrance chuckled. "Terrance carried around a journal for documentation as well, but I haven't been able to find it ever since waking up. It's great that you still have this! We can study some of this information!"

"I know...I've been reading to try and regain memories. Nothing's worked so far, but I've learned a lot about Celie and Terrance from that bible. Apparently they're working directly under The Union as insiders, assisting with the victory of Port Royal. South Carolina has been a disaster to start The Civil War."

"Yeah, historically SC was a disaster the entire war." Terrance gently placed the bible back on the desk, then asked. "Were you about to use this bible to impose divinity?"

"Indeed...maybe it could spark some memories...because I have no trace of anything. I can barely remember my real life." Phuture confessed. "I don't even remember how to begin the divinity enchantment!"

"Oh-" Terrance said. "That's bad..."

Terrance inhaled and exhaled dramatically, he asked Phuture to take a few steps back. He placed all of his concentration within his spiritual energy, physically displaying his black and orange aura of divine energy for the first time since being transmigrated.

Is it working despite our lack of spiritual prowess? Could he actually be using his spiritual energy to break us free? I've completely forgotten how to use divinity, but he seems to remember everything perfectly fine.

How the hell did they kill Terrance? Was Celie the only one shot in the head? I wanted to ask...but I needed to wait until after the attempt of divinity.

"Gods of Divinity before us, lend me your spiritual guidance!" Terrance shouted, commencing an energy that matched his within the bible. "We are direct descendants of your nature and prowess! I am Dark, Lord of Divinity! She is my wife, Phuture, Goddess of Divinity! We humbly ask for your gracious benefits to restore our spiritual energy!"

Dark's spiritual energy flowed from the bible, illuminating the classroom with an aura of glistening black and orange hue. They watched while the energy's aura continued its circular motion around the room, until it came crashing down on Dark and Phuture simultaneously.

The duo's location changed after the aura crashed down on them from the ceiling. Phuture's intelligent guess was that they'd been transported to a world of divinity, but confusion wouldn't falter her from an attempt to return home.

"What the divine is this?" Phuture asked, examining the realm of divinity.

Above in the skies of the realm were turquoise and purplish skies, the same colors of Phuture's divine energy prowess. Below, they were standing on the black and orange glowing aura.

There was multiple red stars above their heads, skies above seemed so close that they could reach out to capture one of the beautiful sparkling red stars.

"A divine realm." The man's voice tone was familiar, but it certainly was the Terrance's voice. "It seems the enchantment brought us some success."

Phuture turned to face the man, registering that her husband was in his true vessel. He was much shorter and skinnier than Terrance, with bronze skin and firm build.

She smiled breathlessly and stared into her hands, experiencing joy to be back within her skin.

"Babe..." Phuture attracted his attention, yanking him by the arm to meet eye contact. "We're back to ourselves!"
