Chapter 4 - Marriage without consent

"What the hell is this?" Kai's voice was ice.

Eunha shoved the contract into Hana's hands. "Read it, sister-in-law."

Hana's eyes scanned the words, her blood roaring louder with each line. Marriage agreement. Six months. Signed by Jung Kai Seok.

Her hands shook. "I… I never agreed to this!"

"You don't have to," Eunha sang. "He already did."

Kai shot to his feet, towering over them both. "You tricked me."

"It's not a trick if it saves your empire."

"This is insane!" Hana's voice cracked. "I can't marry him—"

Her protest died as Kai's gaze locked on hers.

"Hana," he whispered.

Her breath hitched. He did remember.

And by the fire in his stare, he hadn't forgiven her.

The boy she once loved was now her husband—and her greatest enemy.
