Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: Striking at His Weak Spot

"What do you mean? I don't recall ever doing anything to anger the military." Emiya's mind spun quickly, searching through his memory for any possible issues, but he found nothing.

"Don't misunderstand, we're not here to hold you accountable for Black Hand D and the mayor." Arthur grinned wide, showing a dazzling smile.

"Mr. Emiya, we only want to have a talk with you."

As soon as Arthur said this, Emiya's face instantly turned cold. His killing intent burst out uncontrollably. Though the weather had been scorching hot, it now felt bone-piercingly cold.

"With Mr. Emiya's ability, killing us would probably be effortless."

Arthur spread his hands, signaling his subordinates to put away their weapons, and then continued, "But now is the age of the Internet."

"If you kill members of Azure Planet's Unified Defense Division, within one hour you'll become the most wanted criminal on the entire planet."

The Unified Defense Division of Azure Planet was an organization jointly established by countries around the world. This organization had only one purpose, to find a way to kill Kafka.

When Emiya killed Black Hand D, the Defense Division happened to be investigating that organization. During their cleanup of the scene, they found a cellphone that had clearly captured Emiya's side profile.

From that moment on, the Defense Division had been secretly observing Emiya. They understood his temperament very thoroughly.

This man was, at heart, a kind person. Although he occasionally liked to play so-called "pranks," they were always harmless. And every time, after making trouble, he would properly repay the money and apologize.

"What do you want? I'm warning you, don't push me too far." Emiya's threat sounded fierce but was actually weak, he knew himself that this time he had walked straight into a trap.

"Mr. Emiya, don't worry. We're on the same side." Arthur spoke as he gestured toward the open door of the Range Rover.

"It's not convenient to talk outside. Please come with us to Defense Division headquarters. There you'll learn the greatest secret of this world."

———

On Kafka's side, since fleeing from that strange man, she had been using her authority to summon Azure Planet's most elite troops while also urging Silver Wolf to investigate that man's identity.

Depending on the results, she was even considering forcibly using a nuclear bomb to test his limits.

"Kafka, I found it. That man's name is Emiya. Normally he just likes to play some pranks and tease people. It probably wasn't aimed at you." Silver Wolf's voice paused for a long moment before continuing, "But… there's also some not-so-good news…"

"Spit it out, I'm in a hurry!"

"Emiya's wife is named… Acheron." At this point, Silver Wolf awkwardly pinched her nose. "Not just someone with the same name, the color is different, and she likes collecting trash to sell, but it's almost certain that she is that Emanator of Nihility Acheron."

"What did you say?!"

Kafka had already gone through too many shocks in just one hour. Her brain was completely overloaded.

Mouth agape, she slammed her sports car into the mountain wall at 160 mph, setting off a chain of massive explosions.

Fortunately, Silver Wolf had predicted this would happen and had already used her ability to teleport both Kafka and Kafka's beloved coat to a safe place.

"Send me back to the battleship. This mission can't go on." Kafka's face was full of bitterness. She always claimed she felt no fear, but that was only true until she met Acheron.

Back then, while piloting her spaceship aimlessly in space, a rift suddenly opened in her path. She couldn't dodge in time and crashed into it, only to witness the instant destruction of Takamagahara and Izumo.

Those eyes of Acheron that annihilated everything… they still appeared in Kafka's nightmares from time to time.

If Acheron hadn't finally leapt into the rift and vanished, that day might have been Kafka's death anniversary.

From then on, Kafka obediently stayed on Azure Planet and never went out again. She never expected Acheron would also come here.

"Don't worry. I've predicted that Acheron is now weakened." Elio's voice suddenly intruded into Kafka and Silver Wolf's conversation. "Silver Wolf, teleport Acheron away. Kafka, go capture Acheron and Emiya's daughter."

Although Elio couldn't clearly see the fates of Emiya and the other two, he had schemed for countless ages.

For people like Emiya and Acheron, who had lost everything, they would surely risk their lives to protect the family they had left. As long as they captured Vera, they would have leverage.

"Wow, it really worked!" Silver Wolf's voice grew cheerful.

"I just randomly picked a coordinate and swapped Acheron with it. She broke free midway, but she definitely won't be able to come back within a month."

"You've got to be kidding. Acheron is gone, but what about Emiya?" Kafka rolled her eyes. "A man who can make Acheron bear his child, how could he be some nobody?"

"Relax. I personally saw you capture Emiya's daughter into the spa, cough, cough!"

Elio suddenly coughed up a mouthful of black blood. Forcibly observing those three nearly cost him his life. "I'll send nearby Hunters to support you. You must use this weak spot to kill them… cough, cough…"

"Alright, alright, I'll go, okay? Don't actually die there, go get treatment!"

Kafka planned to let the army first test out that little girl's strength, then secretly use her Spirit Speech for a surprise strike. If Spirit Speech failed again, she would have no choice but to run for her life.

"Stop playing games. My life is riding on you."

"Relax, relax!"

———

Vera still had no idea the outside world was about to flip over. That day, she had run into a wild boar on the mountain.

She had originally intended to spare the little fatty, but it foolishly charged straight at her, practically delivering its head.

It was her first time handling such a big creature, so Vera felt a bit at a loss. But since the Kobayashi family was out visiting relatives that day, she had no choice but to grit her teeth, check references, and dissect the boar herself.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

Just as she was getting annoyed with her work, the front door suddenly rattled with knocking. A flash of killing intent passed through Vera's eyes, but she forced it down and kept cutting the pork.

The soldiers outside had no idea they had just walked past the gates of hell. After confirming with a through-wall radar that there was a little girl inside, they forced the door open and threw six tear-gas canisters inside.

"I just replaced that door yesterday." This time, Vera was truly angry.

A red gleam flickered in her eyes. Cracks split open in space, sucking in all the tear gas. She quickly packed the waste from the boar into a plastic bucket, then untied her apron, picked up the bucket, and walked slowly outside.

"Hands on your head, squat down!"

The company commander shouted through a loudspeaker. In front of him stood thirty riot troopers. Two hundred fully armed elite soldiers were ambushed around the house.

Ten tanks and ten armored vehicles loomed in the mountain fields, while two bombers circled in the sky on standby.

If a passerby saw this scene, they would probably think it absurd, deploying so many elite special forces just to bully a defenseless little girl.

But the soldiers, including the commander, all looked deadly serious. They were acting under Kafka's direct order. The mission was clear, kill the little girl in front of them.

And Kafka was no ordinary figure. Gathering all the elites of the world hadn't been able to harm her in the slightest.

If someone could make her treat them with such caution, they definitely weren't just some ordinary kid.

"You want to kill me?" Vera's blood-red eyes showed neither sorrow nor joy. It was as if she was merely asking about something insignificant.

'That gaze. That expression!'

Sweat poured off the commander like a waterfall. He had once been lucky enough to see the recording of the beheading corps' earth-shattering battle with Kafka.

That fight had used the world's most advanced warriors and weapons, including a nuclear bomb and a hydrogen bomb.

Kafka had worn that same indifferent face the whole time, leading a man with an ancient sword to shatter the confidence of every nation on Earth.

"I repeat, Vera, hands on your head, squat down! Otherwise we'll resort to force. Your life or death will not matter!"

"Hmph!" Vera gave a cold snort, set the plastic bucket down by her feet, spread her hands, and said calmly, "If you want to attack a defenseless little child, then go ahead."
