Chapter 27 - Chapter 27: The Fatui

"What?" Cyno dug at his ear, a bit disbelieving. What kind of impression was that?

Yu Jin looked at Cyno's confused expression and explained, "When I captured him and struck him with my blade, the sensation didn't change at all. There's definitely something seriously wrong with that man!"

How could someone not have kidneys? Damn it, what about the time he was taken to the Ceremony Town and had his kidneys harvested by four Black Knife sisters in rotation!

A small trace of resentment emerged from Yu Jin.

"Did Dottore modify his body?" Cyno quickly deduced the main information from Yu Jin's words.

He nodded. This was indeed a point worth noting. Although the Akademiya had long suspected it, actual evidence would naturally be best.

"Mr. Yu Jin..."

"Just call me Yu Jin."

"Yu Jin, do you still have any of Dottore's blood?" Cyno asked with a hint of anticipation. If they could get Dottore's blood, the Akademiya's methods would likely yield a lot of information.

"Let me see." With that, Yu Jin pulled out a gruesome "dagger" about half a meter long from who-knows-where, still with some bloodstains on it.

He looked at it, then scraped off some dried blood from the black blade, and said to Cyno, "I don't have a habit of cleaning my weapons. This blood isn't guaranteed, but there might be some."

"Alright, thank you then." Cyno wasn't disappointed; having a clue was already very satisfying.

"Question, question!" Seeing Cyno satisfied, Yu Jin raised his hand. He had a question to ask now.

"Are you a child?" Everyone couldn't help but twitch their mouths at Yu Jin's actions. Yu Jin's behavior always surprised them.

"Mr. Yu Jin... Yu Jin, feel free to ask any questions. We will do our best to answer them." Seeing Yu Jin staring at her, Jean also changed her address.

"Oh? Why didn't the little dummy ask me before?" Lisa teased.

"I forgot." Yu Jin scratched his head, a bit embarrassed. Oh right? Why hadn't he thought of that?

...Lisa was speechless. Unpredictable people were her natural bane.

"I want to ask about the Fatui's strength?" Yu Jin asked. He was a man who intended to kick every Fatui, so understanding the enemy's strength was very necessary.

"Hmm... unfathomable." Jean thought for a moment, sounding a bit dejected.

Cyno listened and nodded silently beside her.

"No way? Aren't you all part of The Seven Nations? How can there be such a big difference?" Yu Jin grumbled.

"Uh, how should I put it?" Jean was a bit embarrassed. Although there were various reasons, the fact was that Mondstadt was much weaker than Snezhnaya.

"Ah~, let me explain." Kaeya, seeing Jean's hesitant manner, spoke up:

"Teyvat has The Seven Gods. The most active one currently is the Cryo Archon of Snezhnaya. Her Fatui are also the most active."

"What about your Anemo Archon?" Yu Jin asked.

"A non-existent entity." Kaeya shrugged, saying with a hint of self-mockery.

Mondstadt's freedom originated from Barbatos, the Anemo Archon. Naturally, Mondstadt was also the first to enter an era of human governance.

"Moreover, without exception, all of the Fatui Harbingers are divine retainers and obey orders." Kaeya continued, seeing Yu Jin listening attentively.

"What are divine retainers?" Yu Jin had another question.

"Divine retainers are people who have received a portion of a god's grace. They are usually friends of the gods, and national commands don't move them. But the Cryo Archon is different; her divine retainers are more like subordinates."

Seeing Yu Jin still somewhat confused, Kaeya explained further:

"For example, in Mondstadt, we have four Anemo Archon retainers, but two of them are already gone and can't be relied upon. By the way, Acting Grand Master Jean is one too."

"Wow! Jean, you know the Anemo Archon!" Yu Jin was a bit surprised. She really kept a low profile.

"Uh, I haven't met the Anemo Archon. It just happened out of nowhere." Jean was embarrassed again. Their Anemo Archon really was peculiar.

"Alright, alright, just tell me how strong they are?" Yu Jin, confused by all the talk, directly asked the most straightforward question.

"Acting Grand Master Jean, who's stronger, you or Signora?" Yu Jin pointed at Jean.

"This... we haven't fought, and I don't know her full extent. However, I am confident!" Jean said firmly at the end.

Aside from being the Dandelion Knight, she also held the title of Lionfang Knight.

"What about you, Cyno?" Yu Jin looked at Cyno, who was resting with his eyes closed.

Although he didn't know why the topic suddenly shifted to a battle of strength, he still confidently said:

"Outside of the top four, I can contend."

"Lisa?"

"You guess~"

"Kaeya?"

"I'm just a captain, hey!"

"Alright, let's gather a few more, and we'll march to Snezhnaya and seize the Tsaritsa's throne!" Yu Jin started saying things they couldn't understand again.

"You can't say that. The top three Fatui Harbingers each possess strength comparable to a god. That is their greatest trump card." Cyno poured cold water on his idea.

"Furthermore, Snezhnaya's technological prowess should not be underestimated. Delusions can grant ordinary people strength comparable to Vision holders." Jean added, as they all thought Yu Jin was joking.

"Hiss—" Yu Jin's teeth started aching again. The power of the gods in this world was not weak at all. The ability to change climate and environmental conditions was a strength only possessed by top-tier demigods in The Lands Between—like Malenia.

But even in The Lands Between, there were only a few such individuals.

"Ah—, I miss my Black Knife sisters and the Royal Knights." Yu Jin sighed.

After he became king, the Black Knife assassins and the Royal Knights protected his safety, one in shadow and one in plain sight, though he didn't need protection at the time.

The Black Knife assassins, needless to say, ten of them working together could take down Godwyn, a top-tier demigod, a feat that even made him a little afraid, psychologically speaking, of course.

The Royal Knights were actually a gathering place for retired elders. Loretta, the Crucible Knights, the Sword Saint of Castle Sol, Dragonkin Soldier, and others who had no work after he became king, were all taken in by him to earn a living.

Alas, all of that was fleeting. Now, he was just a lonely individual.

It seemed the path of kicking every Fatui was indeed long and arduous.

Yu Jin sighed for a moment, then returned to normal. When soldiers come, block them; when water comes, cover it with earth. If he couldn't kick them all at once, he'd kick them one by one.

"What did you just say?" Kaeya asked.

"Nothing, I was just rambling. Don't mind it." Yu Jin chuckled.

Kaeya looked at Yu Jin, not pressing further, as he also had his secrets.

"So, who are the Fatui Harbingers?" Yu Jin asked. After all that talk, he still didn't know who they were.

"Jester, Dottore, Damselette, Capitano, The Rooster, Balladeer, Marionette, Signora, Regrator, The Knave, and Childe, making eleven Harbingers in total. The higher their rank, the stronger their power." Cyno stated.

"Also, the Fatui Harbingers generally hide their identities, so be careful." Jean added.

"Eh? I didn't expect Signora to not be the lowest-ranked?" Yu Jin was a bit surprised to hear that.

"Hmm?" Everyone present was shocked this time. Yu Jin had met Signora?

"Hehe! Big Brother Yu Jin is super amazing; he beat Signora until she couldn't fight back at all!" Garura said proudly, seeing everyone's puzzled expressions.

"No such thing. The child doesn't know any better and is just playing around. It was just a spar." Although Yu Jin said this, his butt was practically sticking up to the sky.

"I didn't expect your strength, Yu Jin, to be so great!" Jean said with some surprise. If defeating a Dottore's segment didn't say much, then directly defeating Signora was enough to prove Yu Jin's strength.

None of the Fatui Harbingers were simple individuals.

"You flatter me, you flatter me. I didn't want to fight her originally, but she wouldn't give up, so I had no choice but to teach her a lesson." Yu Jin waved his hand. He knew Signora had tricks she hadn't used, but he did too.

"Oh?" Kaeya narrowed his eyes. Wouldn't give up? It seemed there were some secrets between Signora and Yu Jin.

However, Kaeya quickly relaxed, because from their interactions these past few days, Yu Jin wasn't the kind of person who would actively harm others.

On the contrary, everything Yu Jin had shown so far was positive: always upward, always passionate, always showing kindness to everything.

So what about his negative side? It's impossible for a person to only have one side, but Yu Jin seemed to be an exception.

Kaeya looked at Yu Jin, who was still bragging, and a hint of gloom seemed to settle in his heart.
