Chapter 23 - The Fall of Earth

The sky burned crimson. Oceans boiled. Mountains split open. Earth itself screamed beneath the weight of two gods.

Darkseid descended first, his footsteps shaking the ruins of Metropolis. His presence radiated inevitability—pure, cold power. Thanos followed, the Infinity Gauntlet pulsing with energy that warped the air around him. Together, they looked not like conquerors… but like the end of creation itself.

Superman rose to meet them, his eyes glowing with fierce defiance. "This planet—our worlds—will never kneel."Thanos tilted his head. "Then you will burn standing."

The clash began with a roar that tore the clouds apart. Superman charged first, fists igniting with solar fury. He collided with Thanos, the impact detonating like a miniature sun. The ground cratered for miles.Thor struck from above, lightning spearing down on Darkseid—but the Omega Beams met the thunder midair, detonating in a violent spiral of red and blue energy. The explosion flattened entire city blocks.

Wonder Woman led the charge against Darkseid's legions, her blade cleaving through Parademons. "For Earth!" she cried, voice echoing like a battle hymn. Captain Marvel streaked beside her, punching through warships, explosions lighting the sky.Iron Man and Batman coordinated strikes from the ground, merging tech and strategy—repulsors boosted by EMP grenades, drones shielded by tactical precision. "He's adapting," Batman warned."He's a god," Tony replied. "Then we hit him like one."

Doctor Strange floated between realities, summoning layers of mystic barriers. He screamed over the comms, "I can't hold the rift much longer—it's feeding on the chaos!"From above, Darkseid spread his arms wide. "Then let it feast!" He unleashed the full force of the Omega Effect. Crimson beams tore through everything—armor, steel, and flesh.

The heroes were thrown like broken stars. Thor crashed through skyscrapers, Iron Man's armor split, Captain America's shield shattered to pieces.

When the smoke cleared, Earth was no longer a battlefield. It was a graveyard.

And standing in its heart were Thanos and Darkseid, unscathed, united, and victorious.

The world's mightiest had fallen. But somewhere, beneath the rubble, a faint heartbeat still echoed.

The war wasn't over yet.
