Chapter 4 - Page 3: I didn't want to lose them…

Four months have now passed from then like a snap of a finger.

The day was now August 14th, which is the first day I go to school.

I wasn't sure what school was about.

I've only ever seen them in books and tv shows every now and then.

When I asked grandma Serina about it, she told me that it's a place you learn from and through it, you can plan how you want to do your future.

At first I was a bit nervous.

This would be my first time going into a place with tons of people who are my age or older.

My first class wasn't really interesting.

Nor was the rest of the classes until lunch.

At least that's what I remember it being.

While I was eating lunch which was mediocre at best.

I was approached by a random person.

He seemed to be about my age.

He had short yellowish-blonde hair, and shiny emerald-green eyes.

He looked like he had stepped straight out of medieval royalty.

He offered to be a friend and invited me to a table in the far corner of the cafeteria where two other guys sit.

I thought about it for a bit before accepting the request and invitation.

When we got to the table they each greeted themselves to me.

Alex was the blonde haired prince looking guy who talked.

I feel like every time I look at him, I'm just the complete opposite.

I was a dark, and a gloomy person, which showed when I mostly avoided anyone.

Aaron was one of the guys who were sitting at the table.

He had medium short brown hair that rested on his shoulders with dark blue eyes.

I haven't seen a lot of rock or metal bands but he gives the look of being the lead singer in those kinds of bands.

And lastly there was Jeremy.

I've only ever rarely seen black people so it's my first time seeing one face to face.

I could barely notice his skin color from the table I was last sitting but now it was clear that he is a black person.

I hadn't met a lot of people like him before, and found myself staring a little too long, not out of malice, but more as an unfamiliarity.

He had a hairstyle I think is called dreads.

I couldn't really tell what his eye color was because his dreads were covering them.

He noticed that I was staring at him longer than I did to the other two and pointed it out.

"Got a problem with me?" He asked, his voice low and questionable tone.

His voice was a lot deeper than the other two who sounded deep but had lightness to them.

But he had none, it was just deep, it's like whenever you would think what the devil sounds like, that's how deep it sounds.

But then again that could just be me.

I shook my head in response and explained that I've never seen a black person before.

The three then laughed, I wasn't really sure why they were laughing.

Alex punched my shoulder but not enough for it to hurt badly.

We locked eyes with each other. He told me that I'd fit in with the rest of them like that.

Looking back on it now, these three were my first ever friends whom I loved, not as family, but as friends.
