Chapter 1 - A BETTER JOB

CHAPTER ONE

"Look, your stalker is here again, Krystal, are you finally going to talk to him today?" Krystal's colleague, Amanda, nudged her, with a smile on her face.

Krystal stopped cleaning the table and looked to the sides, a frown on her face. Amanda was right. That person was here again.

Krystal was upset, damn it, why was he doing this to her?

"He's not here for me," she said simply and went back to cleaning.

As long as she ignored him, he would go away. He just had to leave her alone.

"Come on," Amanda nudged her one more time, this time, a smile on her face.

He comes here everyday and he insists that you are the only one who can serve him. And you're saying he isn't here for you?" Amanda asked her, winking at her as she did so.

Krystal's expression hardened, as she tried to push all thoughts of that stalker to the back of her mind.

She had goals and plans for her life, and a bored man looking to while away time was not in her considerations at all.

"He's just someone looking to have some fun because he's bored. You shouldn't be paying attention to him," Krystal said coldly, hoping that Amanda would drop it and let her be.

She was really planning on ignoring that person until he got the message.

"Come on, Krystal, don't be like that. It seems to me that he's interested in you. Besides, he's so good looking and obviously, he's someone with money. He makes sure to leave a big tip each time he comes here, how can you think it's just fun for him?"

Amanda had no idea what was wrong with Krystal. If she was the one in that position....

She was smiling with excitement and hope as she imagined herself in Krystal's position.

She would never give up such a big opportunity!

Krystal took one glance at Amanda and abs knew immediately what she was thinking. She rolled her eyes, determined not to pay much attention to the girl.

Amanda was still young, about the same age as her, and so she still had a beautiful outlook on life.

However, after everything she had been through, Krystal was clear that men like that person definitely wouldn't be hanging around women like her for anything serious!

"We work at a shitty restaurant, do you really think he'd take any serious interest in any one of us?" Krystal sneered coldly.

Amanda stuck out her tongue. "Maybe he just fell for you. Love at first sight you know. Perhaps, you are just about to become Cinderella!" Amanda winked at her and laughed.

Krystal sneered, choosing not to respond. Cinderella? What a joke. All Cinderellas today weren't as innocent as people thought, and all Prince charming were jerks!

"Hello, can someone come serve me?" The man who was seated in a corner, spoke out loud.

They were barely anyone else in the restaurant, and he made sure to look directly at Krystal as he called out.

Even if she wanted to ignore him, it didn't seem all that possible.

"Krystal!" Her boss, who was working the registrar, barked her name, and begrudgingly, Krystal dragged herself over to him.

She slapped the menu down on the table hard and folded her hands across her chest.

"You are already familiar with our menu, so just pick out whatever you want," she said rudely.

Frank smiled, a calm look on his face. Krystal's attitude didn't affect me, in fact, he liked it.

She was the perfect person for his plan.

"You really don't like me huh?" He muttered.

"Are you ordering or not?" Although she didn't reply, Krystal's disdain for this person was clear.

"Why don't you have a conversation with me for a few minutes?" He asked her, that same smile dancing on his lips.

Krystal wanted to curse so badly. What did she do to deserve this?

"I don't....."

"Is the service of this place so bad? How can you guys run a business when you are this dismissive to customers?"Frank made sure to raise his voice as he asked this, and Krystal's boss shot her a glare.

Krystal could feel that greasy man's sharp glare on her back now and she cursed.

"Krystal, apologize to the customer now!" Her boss barked at her.

"Sir, I didn't...."

Krystal started to explain, but her boss wanted to hear none of it.

"Apologize, or you can get out of this place right now!" He barked, leaving her no room to argue at all.

Krystal bit her lips, and she shot Frank a glare. All of this was his fault!

Frank shrugged, as if he this had nothing to do with him.

Gritting her teeth, Krystal tried her best to force a smile on her face.

"What do you want, sir?" She asked, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

"Krystal, if you don't want this job anymore, you can always get out you know!" Her boss who was still watching them barked at Krystal once again.

Krystal glared at Frank even more. All of this was his fault.

He smiled at her, and Krystal felt something stuck in her throat.

His eyes....she had always avoided looking at his eyes because it always had some kind of effect on her.

An effect that she didn't like.

His brown hazy eyes always seemed like it could see through all of her thoughts, and she didn't like that.

"Is your boss always this mean to you?" He asked her, lowering his voice to a volume only they could hear.

Krystal cursed violently in her head. Whose fault was this?

"You know, I can always get you a better job, a job that will change your life forever,"he continued in that same low voice.

Krystal was silent for a few seconds, but then, a sarcastic smile spread across her face.

She would never have guessed this was what he wanted from her!

She had heard this line way too many times. As a young beautiful woman, she knew well enough the job that would change her life for good.

Turning to face him once again, Krystal clicked her tongue and shook her head, a sorry look on her face.

Judging from his face, she would never have guessed he was into that line of work.

"Don't you think you're too handsome to be a pimp?" She questioned him.
