Chapter 1 - Prologue

Encased by the dark sea of night the starry sky sparkled in unison with the golden moon.

Though late , the streets were still well lit and the mood just as lively as at a festival . This was the atmosphere everywhere these days , a world that had known only chaos had finally gained peace.

*********

A large table resided in a large , empty hall . The room was completely desolate except for one figure ; they wore a black cloak , never performing any action besides playing on the chess board in front of them.

The feeling was silent and the figure continued ; somehow they had won against themself , even though they had achieved a checkmate they sorted back the pieces and began once more .

B2 - b4 (White), 8g - 6f (Black) , c2 - c3 (White) , h8 - f8 (Black) , and so on....

Tak!

Tak!

Tak!

"You really haven't changed all these years!?", another figure came into the large room and spoke to the cloaked figure as though close acquaintances.

The figure playing chess causally responded ,"Seeing you here must mean it's time."

"Indeed."

"Then let us make preparations. Inform the others that the time has come.", he said this whilst still focused on his game .

"No need. The others and I are already done with our tasks , the only one left is you." , the figure who had entered spoke.

"What!?", he paused ,"What about HIM?".

"Even him . I checked with the logs."

The figure approached the one in black robes and sat on the surface of the table . He finally emerged out of the shadows ,

revealing him to be a man with graying hair .

Out of nowhere the once dark room was beginning to light up evenly . A spark of energy surged from the light , forming a wide circle with a radius exceeding five metres.

"It's been a while hasn't it Fuku-chan?!" , the old man spoke .

Right after those words , a young man dressed in black and white robes , emerged from the portal. "Call me that again , Ridius , and I'll wipe out your entire domain!."

"Tough luck. I've already relinquished my connection to it , so if you attempt what you say , you could possibly start a war with the next generation." , the old man said with a smirk.

"Eh-hem" , a sudden sound from the black robed one brought the two back from their squabble."If you two idiots would stop arguing you would notice that my domain is collapsing ."

The situation tensed.

Ridius's carefree attitude ceased the moment the chess playing figure mentioned a detail he had not noticed . "Fuku-chan!?".

Strangely Fuku readily answered ,"Hmh!?".

"If Roy's domain is collapsing, then that means that the next generation's system is overwriting it .", Fuku explained calmly.

"Has that ever happened?" , from all this Ridius was beginning to worry about his former domain.

"Never", he answered.

"Again , you two are acting like I'm not here .", the chess playing figure said.

"Sorry guys , but can't stay for chit-chat any longer ." , Fuku said.

Almost abruptly, Roy stood up from his game and headed to the spot where Fuku was. Moments later , a giant boulder fell from the ceiling striking the exact same spot.

"You're foresight still remains a mystery to me ." , said Ridius.

"Fuku , will you remain to guide the next generation?", for the first time during this exchange Roy paid attention to them , waiting for a response.

"I'm afraid not , I have already relinquished my duties .", Fuku responded.

"Then how are you able to still teleport!?" , both Ridius and Roy asked simultaneously.

"My ability remains because it belongs to me." , he answered .

Seeming to understand , "The times when we were bound by destiny.", spoke Roy.

"Alright , I really have to go now." , he repeated to the two of them once more .

"Wait , I need you to deliver me to a special place. But first..." , Roy rolled up his sleeve and raised his hand forward. "I , Royisis , relinquish my duties as one of the nine!".

With that , a bright pink-ish hue illuminated the area surrounding him forming shapes of pink roses . It took a few minutes and then dissipated from all eyes.

Roy sighed with relief , "Finally , I can now rest."

"Where do you want to go?" , Fuku asked him.

"I'll tell you , but first let us gather the rest of the others including HIM and enjoy our retirement."

"Are you going along with this plan , Ridius?", Fuku asked and after receiving a nod from him , a spark of the same light shone and another portal opened up.

As the ground they stood on trembled , ready to collapse at any moment , the three men began to cross over into the portal.

"Roy , aren't you forgetting your chess board?", it was Fuku who asked.

"My successor can take care of it ." , he replied .

"You're right. It's time to let the youngsters care for the fate of the world."

And with that they disappeared into the portal.
