Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Resident Evil World

In Raccoon City, Luo smiled slightly as he looked at his police uniform. Ten years had passed since he transmigrated to this world, and reaching this position hadn't been easy.

This was the perilous Resident Evil world. He'd been born with a system, but when he tried to use it, he found it inactive. He was furious and cursed; he'd never seen anything so unfair.

Ten years. Using his wits, Luo had managed to get what he wanted through trickery and deception. He'd become a patrolman through bribery and colluded with local gangs to make dirty money. The chaos here was far more severe than he'd imagined. Without money and power, there was no respect; to rise above others, you had to have ability.

Looking at the grayed-out system interface, Luo still didn't understand how to activate the system.

As the car lurched, a young man sat in the passenger seat. "Hey Luo, want a ride? To Baker Street?"

This was Chris, a member of a special forces team in the Raccoon City Police Department. What was their full name again? Hmm, Special Tactics and Rescue Team. Sounds impressive, clearly not ordinary.

This team was only reorganized last month, recruiting from across the entire police department. Funded by Umbrella Corporation, they offered excellent benefits. Accommodation was in dedicated single dormitories, with meals and lodging provided, and a high salary.

"Sure, I don't have anything else to do right now," Luo smiled. He knew Chris, and they had a pretty good relationship, but he rarely went on missions with him. Not for any other reason than Chris's nickname, "teammate curse," and he didn't want to be cursed to death by Chris, so keeping his distance was the best option.

At that moment, the car door opened again, and a fragrant breeze wafted in. A charming policewoman with short hair sat in the back seat. Her beautiful face, with its regular features and refined features, gave her a pleasingly capable air. This was a woman who was unforgettable at first glance, exuding an intellectual and capable aura.

"Hi, Jill, we meet again. You look beautiful today," Luo greeted her with a smile. Seeing Jill, he felt a surge of arousal. His crotch was hard, a testament to his impressive physique.

Jill smiled broadly, her eyes noticing Luo's erection, a mixture of pride and disgust in her expression. "Yes, we're investigating a case. Can I hitch a ride with you?"

"Of course! If we solve the case, let's have dinner together tonight. It's been a long time since I've eaten with people from your Major Crimes Unit, haha, it's on me," Luo said generously. He was indeed very good at socializing. His money didn't come from legitimate businesses; honest people couldn't earn that much, especially an Asian.

Although Luo hadn't activated the system yet, he was adept at cultivating relationships. His frequent treats initially made him seem like a sucker. However, his colleagues at the police station later changed their impression of him. At least, the saying "He who eats another's food is bound to him" held true. They turned a blind eye to Luo's behavior and maintained a good relationship with him.

"Sure, someone's treating, that's good," Chris agreed with a smile. He wouldn't discriminate against Luo.

Jill also narrowed her eyes slightly. "Sure."

Stepping on the gas, Luo sped off in the police car, weaving through traffic, and quickly arrived at Baker Street. This area was a slum, not exactly a desirable place.

"Good luck. I have some things to take care of. Call me anytime if you need anything," Luo gestured as if making a phone call.

"Got it." Chris and Jill got out of the car and joined the other team members waiting there, heading to a factory together.

Luo then went to a bar on the edge of the slums. This area was at the border between the slums and residential areas; the security wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible either.

This was a bar controlled by Luo. It housed an underground casino and sold contraband. Some controlled firearms can be obtained here; with money, you can get good stuff.

Luo, an Asian, became a patrolman in Raccoon City not because of his looks or protagonist aura, but because money paved the way.

"What happened at the West Street warehouse?" Luo sat down at a table and placed a glass of wine he'd gotten from the bar in front of a woman.

This was a blonde beauty in a red women's suit, her smooth, short blonde hair obscuring her right eye, giving her a touch of mystery. Her fair face was pretty, and her eyes held a hint of determination; it wasn't hard to tell she was a capable and sophisticated woman.

"How should I know? Aren't you a patrolman?" Alisa continued writing her manuscript without looking up, seemingly quite familiar with Luo.

Luo was also familiar with her; she was a character from the Resident Evil series, and not just some unknown one. She was simply hidden away, unknown to most players. Alisa was a playable character in the Outbreak series, a civilian character. She was also one of the survivors of Raccoon City, and even appeared in Raccoon City VII.

This caught Luo's attention, even though Alisa didn't like him because she saw him as a villain, a bad guy, doing illegal things and running a gang. However, they did cooperate. Luo gave her dirt on rival gangs and inside information about Raccoon City, giving Alisa enough evidence to write news articles.

In return, Alisa would share her own intelligence with Luo. They were partners; Alisa's reports helped Luo take down rival gangs, and Alisa could get what she wanted from Luo. Their cooperation was a perfect match.

"I asked you because I didn't know, and don't wander around these next few days. Stay here. Buckhu is looking for you; you'll be safer here," Luo said in a low voice. This was one of his reasons for coming. Living as an ordinary person, building a harem was something he dreamed of. Trying to get a woman right from the start is obviously unrealistic, especially since the system isn't activated yet. The only option is the old-fashioned method of using emotions to seduce her.

"I'm not afraid of them," Alisa scoffed. As a war correspondent, she knew how to make enemies; fame and infamy often go hand in hand.

"You're not afraid, but I am. I can't bear to see you hurt. Protecting you is my responsibility," Luo said with a smile, his eyes filled with sincerity.

Alisa wasn't a little girl. She looked up at Luo. "I appreciate your kindness."

"I told you, listen to me this time. This is no small matter," Luo raised his hand to stop Alisa, looking at her stunning face. "I love you, so I want to protect you."
