Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 The Knowledge Moor

The moment Bernadette saw the "Flaming Arrow," she sensed that this weapon was unusual. Otherwise, why would a high-sequence extraordinary being like her spend energy researching such a low-end weapon?

Upon seeing the magic circle inside the "Flaming Arrow," Bernadette, who possessed extensive knowledge of advanced mysticism, noticed the key to the magic circle: those unfamiliar mystical symbols and a new application of classic magic circles.

She could only rely on her own abilities and extensive knowledge to deduce the function of those mystical symbols, but she did not understand their inner meaning and principles.

That's why she initiated the £3,000 deal with Odis. On the one hand, the Sequence 9 combat power of "Elemental Dawn" is basically equivalent to that of the goose, and such a weapon is indeed very necessary.

On the other hand, Bernadette was concealing her true purpose: to understand the underlying theories of those occult symbols.

But what Bernadette didn't expect was that the seemingly young herbalist not only possessed a few new occult symbols, but also deduced a whole new set of occult symbols.

After reporting what she had learned that day, Aria hesitated for a moment and then said, "Your Majesty, I have also noticed something else: Odis has a very profound understanding of certain aspects of mysticism."

Bernadette's voice came through the air again: "Tell me more details."

"He actually studied the 'essence of spirituality'."

"What?"

"The essence of spirituality!"

Two or three seconds later, Bernadette's voice came through the air: "I understand."

Arya quickly added, "Your Majesty, I also discovered today that someone is following me, probably the same old 'tails'."

"Everything is going according to plan." Bernadette had been planning for a long time to wipe out the core forces of the "Morse Penitentiary" in Backlund in one fell swoop.

Arya explained, "I'm worried that Odis Gard might get hurt."

Anyone who has achieved extraordinary success through the "secret discoverer" path is practically a scholar, and any scholar of mysticism would sincerely admire Odis's research.

"This could be an opportunity." After saying this, Bernadette's "messenger" returned to the fireplace, the flames turned emerald green again and spewed out of the fireplace, and in an instant, the "messenger" left, and the flames returned to normal.

Aria paused for a moment before asking herself, "What opportunity?"

...

Bernadette, of course, would not explain that she was using the danger posed by the enemy to coerce Odis into joining the "Elemental Dawn."

Influenced by her father, Bernadette had a very unique perspective. From Odis's research, she saw the universality of extraordinary weapons, and most importantly, that they could be mass-produced.

She knew very well that "Flaming Arrow" was just the beginning, and mass production would usher in a new era!

Odis seems unaware of this, and Bernadette intends to make a hidden long-term investment in Odis, ideally including both Odis and her research results in "Elemental Dawn".

The conversation that had just ended surprised Bernadette once again.

As a Sequence 3 of the "Hypnotist" path, Bernadette also conducted extensive research in mysticism, and she certainly pondered questions such as "the nature of spirituality."

She was somewhat surprised when she heard Aria's report. She didn't expect that at such a young age, Odis, a Sequence 9, was already researching such profound issues.

"Interesting." Bernadette decided that after the recent battle, she would send her "servants" to keep an eye on this herbalist shop owner.

...

Achoo!

At 51 Henry Street, in the Gard Herbalist's Shop, Odis sneezed loudly.

The young and energetic young man, Kaina, smiled and said, "Mr. Garr, you don't have a cold, do you?"

"I just sneezed. I guess someone's missing me," Odis joked casually.

It was late at night again. After Kaina finished cleaning, Odis asked him to check the mailbox. Sure enough, there was a thick letter inside.

Odis glanced at the sealing wax and confirmed that it was sent by Ms. Mandy, who was currently helping him manage his illicit business.

Opening the letter, one finds it filled with elegant handwriting, an observation report on that group of aristocratic youths.

Mandy has compiled these observations, and without exception, none of them have detected anything unusual about them recently.

So Odis took out a piece of paper, wrote down the results of his investigation, and asked Kaina to deliver the letter to the Backlund Mechanical Research Society overnight, which was the residence of the "Mechanical Heart".

"You can come back at ten o'clock tomorrow," Odis said to the errand boy who was working overtime.

Kainer smiled sincerely and said, "Yes, Mr. Garr."

Odis rested in his armchair as usual for a while. He didn't receive any unexpected guests today, but as soon as he stepped outside, his intuition told him that someone seemed to be watching the herbal shop.

He paused for a moment, but locked the door as usual and went to the public carriage station.

While waiting for the carriage, Odis quietly observed his surroundings but did not find anyone suspicious.

Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!

After getting into the carriage, he didn't feel like anyone was following him.

However, out of caution, he went to the nearby Lever Church, pretended to pray to the god of steam and machinery, and then left again after a simple change of clothes.

Only after confirming again that no one was following him did he feel relieved enough to go home.

Because it was too late and there were no more public carriages available, Austin had to reluctantly hire a horse-drawn carriage to return to his residence at 75 Helling Avenue.

The left side of the entire avenue is lined with townhouses, and the environment is quite nice.

The house felt a bit deserted because I hadn't been home for two days.

Odis boiled some water, drank a cup of hot water, and pondered for a moment who might be watching Garr's Herbal Shop, but couldn't come up with any constructive guesses.

He didn't return to his bedroom until almost midnight, where he turned off the lights and went to rest.

Today is Sunday. As usual, after Odis fell asleep, he came to the field with its illusory light, which seemed to have no specific shape.

After arriving here, many memories suddenly flooded Odis's mind. For example, he guessed that this place should be the "Knowledge Wilderness" of the source material.

In the outside world, he loses his memory of this knowledge. In fact, the "Knowledge Moor" is a kind of protection for him, because this knowledge is extremely polluting and would have a huge impact on the "spiritual body" without protection.

Deep in the wilderness, there stands a tower composed of individual towers that emit a faint glow.

Odis entered the tower with ease, and inside the tower was a huge, illusory space.

Here are some tools he conjured, most of which are experimental instruments. He also conjured a computer for research and record-keeping.

The combination of mystical tools with pre-Christian era technology, along with a faint, ethereal glow, makes the room seem almost unreal.

However, Odis was already used to this place. He quickly walked to the center of the spacious room, where there was a phantom sphere of light that was larger than the other spheres of light.

Odis placed his left hand on the sphere of light and said, "Today's topic is the study of the principles of the extraordinary ability 'Recordation' of the 'Apprentice' pathway sequence 6, 'Record Officer'."
