~ TESSA'S POV~
The TV volume was low, just the way I liked it. I was curled up on the sofa, legs tucked beneath me, eyes fixed on the screen as my favorite series played. For once, my mind wasn't spiraling. The whole event from this morning faded slowly. The characters argued, laughed, made stupid decisions, and for a few precious minutes, my life wasn't the center of my thoughts.
But slowly, the characters kept reminding me of myself. Tears welled up my eyes as my favourite character got stabbed on his back. Betrayal really seems to be the order of the day.
I immediately wiped off the drop of tears that fell at the corner of my eyes as I heard footsteps.
I didn't look up, I really didn't need to ask there was no other person in this mansion by this time other than Olivia. The maid has gone out to the things needed and necessary to stock the house. I immediately arranged my face, I really don't want to give her any chance to strike a conversation with me.
