Chapter 11 - The Witches' Veil*

_Under Lyrien's guidance, Mia stepped through a shimmer in the air—a fold in the trees that felt like walking into a waterfall of moonlight. The world shifted._

They stood in *Aetherglen*, the witches' hidden realm. Ancient trees towered, their leaves whispering in a language Mia didn't understand. The sky glowed with a soft, lavender twilight that had no source. The air pulsed with magic, like the hum of a harp string.

"This is where the old ones live," Lyrien said, leading her deeper. "Rules here are woven tight. The hunters can't touch us… but the shadows can play tricks."

Mia marveled at clusters of houses made of living wood, witches moving with fluid steps, their eyes flicking to her with curiosity. Diana waited by a glowing fountain, a hint of pride in her smile.

"Aetherglen's a refuge, but the reset's ripples are felt here too," Diana said. "We'll show you the _Archives_—histories of your line, the Aldens. But be wary. The *Lombra* guard old secrets. They don't like strangers."

As they approached a grand, gothic library, a shadow detached from the trees. A figure, tall and boneless, slid forward. _Lombra._ Its "face" was a shifting void.

"You don't belong here, Alden," it hissed, voice like dry leaves. "The reset's whispers are loud. You'll stir what sleeps."

Lyrien stepped closer, a subtle tension in his stance. "Mia's here to learn. Stand down, Lombra."

The Lombra tilted, studying Mia. _"The price… is curiosity. Pay it, or leave."_ It vanished into the shadows, leaving an unsettled silence.

The chapter ends with:

- Mia in Aetherglen, sensing its beauty and danger.

- The _Lombra_ as eerie guardians of secrets, raising stakes.

- Lyrien's protective edge, solidifying his role.

- A hint of a test for Mia—the "price" of curiosity.
