Chapter 32 - The Gathering Storm

As the days passed, Mia, Carla, and the others searched the city for any signs of the Dark Witches. They scoured the streets, spoke to locals, and even infiltrated a few of the Dark Witches' hidden gatherings. But despite their efforts, they found nothing.

Mia was getting frustrated. They were running out of time, and the blood moon was fast approaching. She knew they had to find the Dark Witches before it was too late.

One night, as they were returning to the mansion, Kia approached Mia with a mysterious look on her face. "Mia, I think I've found something," she said, her voice low and urgent.

Mia's eyes narrowed, "What is it?"

Kia glanced around cautiously before pulling out a small, intricately carved wooden box from her bag. "I found this in an abandoned shop on Bourbon Street. I think it's one of the Dark Witches' hiding places."

Mia's eyes widened as she took the box from Kia. It was heavy, and she could feel a strange energy emanating from it. "Open it," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Kia hesitated before slowly lifting the lid. A faint glow escaped from the box, illuminating the darkening alleyway. Inside, they saw a small, leather-bound book, adorned with strange symbols and markings.

Carla's eyes widened, "Is that...?"

Mia nodded, her mind racing, "The Dark Witches' spell book. We've got it."

But as they reached for the book, a figure emerged from the shadows, her eyes blazing with fury.

"You shouldn't have done that," she hissed, her voice dripping with venom.

Mia's eyes locked onto the figure, her heart pounding in her chest. It was one of the Dark Witches, and she was not happy.

The Dark Witch, her eyes blazing with fury, raised her hands, and a burst of dark energy shot towards Mia and the others. Kia quickly raised a shield, and the energy bounced off, but the force of the blast sent them stumbling back.

Mia quickly regained her footing and summoned a powerful spell, her eyes flashing with determination. The air around her seemed to vibrate with energy as she channeled the power of the Alden bloodline.

The Dark Witch sneered, summoning a dark creature from the shadows. The creature lunged at Mia, its jaws open wide, but Carla was ready. She conjured a blast of light, and the creature dissipated, its screams echoing through the alleyway.

Kia and Amara joined forces, their spells weaving together in a powerful display of magic. The Dark Witch stumbled back, her eyes widening in surprise, as the group pressed their advantage.

But just as they thought they had the upper hand, a figure emerged from the shadows, his eyes gleaming with malevolent intent. The leader of the Dark Witches, a powerful sorcerer, had arrived.

"Fools," he spat, his voice dripping with contempt. "You think you can stop us? The Hallow's return is inevitable, and nothing can stand in our way."

Mia's eyes locked onto the sorcerer, her heart pounding in her chest. She knew they had to stop him, but she also knew it wouldn't be easy.

The sorcerer raised his hands, and a dark vortex appeared, pulling Mia and the others towards it. Claudia, who had been watching from the shadows, stepped forward, her eyes flashing with ancient power.

"Not so fast," she said, her voice like a crack of thunder. "You forget, I have a stake in this game too."

The sorcerer's eyes narrowed, "Claudia, you think you can stop me?"

Claudia smiled, her eyes glinning with determination. "I don't think, I know
