Chapter 1 - Income Losses

The city lights shine brightly from below, the faint sounds of car horns bustling from below made the man looking down on everything smile lightly.

A cold gust of wind breezed past him, ruining his freshly combed hair. He shivers quietly and used his hand to fix his hair, but the door behind him suddenly opened.

"There you are sir," A small female office worker sighed of relief, shivering from the cold just stepping foot on the balcony at the highest level of the building.

"Ms. Crowe has been looking for you, she seems rather... Mad."

The man exhaled, his breath visible, being blown away by the wind.

"I'll see to it, get back to work."

He said in a calm, dreamy tone which almost enchanted the office worker, she would definitely have been lulled to sleep if it weren't for the cold.

As the man walked down the hallway, he passed many other employees of his, each one always had the same stages of reaction.

The first was shock, stopping them in place.

The second was panic, their eyes growing wider as though they were about to get executed at just a stare from him.

The third is not really an reaction, but an action. They would all either bring their right hand palms to their chest and bow down, or they would suddenly and swiftly fall to the floor and kowtow.

Six foot two with such pale skin, luscious wavey hair the color of a chestnut. His eyes were like shiny golden orbs, yet his state could seemingly pierce someones soul.

With every hallway he passed, there was always a line of workers doing the two actions after the three stages of reactions.

After all, who wouldn't be intimidated by such a man? A man like Zhao Yi Chen, a billionaire at the mere age of twenty three, owning several buildings with dozens of floors high.

Zhao Yi Chen entered a room and closed the door behind, letting out a heavy breath as a sharp pair of ice blue eyes glare daggers at him.

Five foot eight, jet black hair that she styles with white, ashy looking highlights that look extremely unique with her hair that's held up by a silver hairpin, a few purposefully loosened strands around her face, her sharp glare could make anyone surrender.

Vivian Liying Crowe, Zhao Yi Chen's secretary. And the one in charge with Financial statements and checking her boss' purchase history...

And speaking of purchase history.

"Mr. Zhao." She called out to him, her voice so eerily calm, a shadow over her face as she adjusts her silver eyeglasses, facing only a few sheets of paper in her hand.

"Would you mind to enlighten me what you think is on this paper?"

Zhao Yi Chen walked to his desk, sitting down on his chair and spin towards the shelves behind him.

His calm, nonchalant, and dreamy voice replied:

"I assume it's the line of meetings that are due next week, or the sponsored products that was from a recently trending restaurant."

There was a long moment of silence before Vivian's high heels took a step.

Clack.

Then another.

Clack.

And then another.

Clack!

Until the last step where it seemed she stomped her foot. Yi Chen gulped, a few beads of sweat on his forehead.

He could feel Vivian's presence behind him as he continued to state at the shelves, another moment of nerve wracking silence filled the office.

Clack.

Clack.

Vivian moved to Yi Chen's side and spin his chair to face him, holding out paper receipts of several purchases made in the same day.

Vivian's voice grew fierce as her cool office secretary mask breaks.

" What the hell is with these purchases you made you financial criminal!?"

She shook the papers she was holding, practically shoving it right up at his face, then pulling away to read it out.

"Three purchases of of whoever these character figurines are, totalling 5 thousand." She paused to take a short breath,

"Two purchases, one was a perfume bottle that some idol touched and the other was an autographed shirt, totalling 10 thousand!? Are you kidding me!?"

Yi Chen coughed and straightened himself, trying to not break his professional and nonchalantly serious mask.

Just outside the office, two employees were looking through the gaps of the blinds.

"Boss man is getting a scolding it seems."

"Dunno about that, let's just go before they notice."

Yi Chen finally feels the audience have walked away and prepared to counter Vivian's harsh assault when she finally arrived to the last purchase.

"... And some stupid playstation that has some old unreleased video game booted up which costed 15 thousand!? Not only are you a financial criminal but you're also such an imbecile purchasing some worthless things that can't even be sold!!"

She practically yelled out the last few sentences with all her might, out of breath as she barely paused.

Zhao Yi Chen finally stood up from his chair, towering over Vivian as he then rebutted:

" These things are very important to me!" He said in a tone and with a look of defiance that absolutely contrasts from his superior office persona,

" Of course we can sell them, and at an amazing price too!"

Vivian quickly fired back calmly

" But will you?"

" Like hell." Zhao Yi Chen replied almost instantly, then walking over to the shelf he was looking at early and taking down the painting.

Behind it revealed all the precious things he bought, along with the game console at the center.

The shirt however...

" I love money and I hate to spend it, but when it comes to personal joy, money has always been made to be spent!"

Vivian made a look of utter disgust as Yi Chen unbuttoned his suit and revealed the autographed shirt which he was wearing.

Vivian was incredibly livid, rubbing her temples and gritting her teeth so hard she swore to herself she would bite him.

"You are the worst boss I've ever worked for."

"But I'm the first boss you've worked for though?"

"Shut the fuck up!"

Vivian was losing it at this point, and she tolerated enough of Zhao Yi Chen's imbecilic doings.

Just as she was about to add another dozen words of profanities, an otherworldly voice suddenly spoke.

[System detected a large sum of losses.]

[Exactly three hundred million accumulated losses...]

Vivian and Yi Chen was confused where the voice was coming from, only then did a bright light appear in the shelf, the console that Zhao Yi Chen bought was glowing and getting brighter by the second.

"What the hell?" Vivian hissed, thinking this was some diversion for Yi Chen to escape her scolding, but when she glanced at him he too was confused as her.

"No way I've gotten that much of an income loss!" Seriously, that was his only concern, great at getting income, greater at spending...

[Universal Worksheet has been rechecked.]

[Due to the losses accumulated this year, everything must then go back to zero as rules.]

By then the office they were in was being engulfed with the bright light, not a shadow to be cast, weirder was the windows were slowly being turned into glowing white light as well.

The world around the two finally disappeared, nothing but white around them.

Silence, they couldn't feel the floor beneath them yet walked as if there is, they breathed yet they feel no air.

The world around them rippled suddenly, a small whirring and buzzing sound like small engines were running, and then came the metallic and creaking sounds, like cogs and chains were being pulled and turned...

A small window then appeared Infront of them.

"A columnar?" Vivian looked at a two columns columnar Infront of her. The title was empty, but beneath was written Journal Entry.

On the Debit side of the Journal was her Cash which was only 150.

While on the Credit side was

Untitled, Capital

Which also has 150.

What confused her though was the date... The year was 2602.

She was getting lost, she glanced at Zhao Yi Chen, who was deep in thought as well, probably in the same situation.

Just what I'm the hell happened and where were they?

As she thought so, the same voice that spoke to them suddenly echoed.

[Welcome.]

[You have now been transmigrated to a new world to start over, if you were to continue in your own world with the amount of losses accumulated, you two would have gone into despair.]

[Alas, you are your world's best and richest, no doubt The Ones Above will take a liking to the events that will transpire soon.]

[More information will be given to you once you arrive, farewell now and be grateful They let you start off with Cash, a certain someone pushed with his idea.]

The bright light around them was dimming, Vivian Liying Crowe and Zhao Yi Chen closed their eyes as they felt themselves descend into the said world.

Vivid pictures of the scenery, the people, the cities, the countries... The realms, it's like they were dreaming.

Only then did everything go black.
