Chapter 3 - 3: One last name, one big family.

More than a year and a half has passed, Asta and Yuno can now walk and have stopped crying so much.

Mostly Asta, Yuno still cries occasionally, especially when he's hungry, wets himself, or after defecating.

Yuno and Asta also started talking almost at the same time.

After all, I talk to them about anything.

I learned from an anime in my past life and drew apples, spoons, meat, sweet potatoes, books, crosses, etc., on wooden boards.

It's a relief that I learned the language of this world upon reincarnation, like when Kazuma traveled to the world of Konosuba.

The knowledge went directly to my brain.

It's a relief, otherwise it would be a headache, well, not so much.

After all, I have Ram's talent from Re:Zero.

Ram was able to insult Subaru by writing in Japanese while Ram was teaching Subaru to read and write.

Out of curiosity, Ram asked him to teach her the writing system of Subaru's hometown, and in just 3 days she was able to insult Subaru in writing.

Well, even though she only learned that one word to insult Subaru.

But just in that, you can see Ram's talent for learning.

"Wendy, Wendy, Yuno is crying again!"

And that's Asta, who's shouting.

"I'm coming, Asta, why is Yuno crying again? Did he fall or something?"

"No, Wendy, Yuno started crying because I left him behind!" Asta shouts again.

"Don't shout, Asta, it's unnecessary, I heard you the first time."

I trot slowly towards where Yuno is.

Calmly, I pick up Yuno, who is sitting on the floor crying.

"There, there, everything will be alright, Yuno, tell me what happened," I say in a soothing voice to Yuno, trying to calm him down and make him stop crying.

About 30 seconds later, Yuno stops crying and only sobs occasionally.

"Now that you've calmed down, tell me what's wrong." "A-Asta even left me alone while we were playing and and and..." sob, sob.

'Yuno is always like this, he hardly resembles the 15-year-old Yuno.'

'After all, he's just a little kid.'

"It's okay, Yuno, you don't have to cry about something like that."

"Come on, Yuno, I'm going to play with you two today."

"Yes!" Yuno replies happily.

After playing for most of the morning, we all played different games.

But I had to stop playing to cook.

The things a woman has to do in this era.

But it doesn't matter, in my previous life I was going to study cooking at a specialized university, but I died before I even tried to get into culinary school.

And most importantly, Father Orsi only knows how to cook mashed potatoes and the whole set of mashed potato recipes; everything else is just edible.

So I prefer to cook myself, even though my culinary skills are at the level of home cooking, but Father Orsi says my food is very good.

So I'll take his word for it.

Since there's no other way, the food is fried potatoes like French fries.

"Everyone, come eat!" I shouted so everyone in the church could hear me.

In the church dining room.

"Well children, before we eat, let's thank the kind villagers and Wendy for the food," Father Orsi said.

"Thank you for the food" x4.

While eating a fried potato, I think, 'It's quite strange that the churches don't worship any god in this world; they're more like orphanages.'

'These fries are so good.'

My thoughts wander a bit.

'And the church services are like giving thanks for the good things that happen to them.'

'Even though there's no divine figure.'

'But the concept of God exists in this world.'

I look at Father Orsi, Yuno, and Asta eating happily.

'Probably in a few years we won't be able to eat three meals a day.' "With Father Orsi, me, Asta, Yuno, the future Recca, Sister Lily, and baby Nash, who hasn't been born yet."

"The food won't be enough. I remember that in the future, Father Orsi had to go to many nearby villages just to get enough potatoes for a feast to celebrate Yuno and Asta's departure for the Clover Kingdom's capital."

After lunch, Yuno and Asta go out to play in the plains surrounding the church.

The church is about 375 meters from the village of Hage, and there's nothing within 375 meters of the church except for the fence that surrounds it.

In the church chapel.

"Father Orsi, I have a request I'd like you to grant," I say to Father Orsi, who is sitting on one of the long benches in the church.

"What's wrong, Wendy? Is something wrong?" Father Orsi asks, a little worried about me.

"It's nothing bad, Father. It's just that I want all the orphans in this church, like me, to have the last name I chose, [Belserion], which for me means [Shining Land]."

"I want all the orphans in this church to have the last name Belserion because this church is like a shining land for the orphans who live here," I tell Father Orsi with joy in my voice.

"Are you sure, Wendy? I know you love Yuno and Asta very much, but are you sure you won't regret this in the future?" Father Orsi was a little worried about me.

"Don't worry, Father, it's something I've been thinking about for a long time," I said confidently, with a touch of joy in my voice.

Father Orsi smiled reassuringly and said, "If that's what you want, I won't object to your decision."

Father Orsi's expression suddenly changed from kind to moved and tearful.

"Little Wendy, I'm so glad you consider this church, where we can only eat sweet potatoes every day, a bright and wonderful place."

Father Orsi's comical tears streamed down his cheeks like rivers.

After hearing many touching and grateful words from Father Orsi, I went to look for Yuno and Asta.

"Yuno, Asta, where are you?!" Wendy searched for Yuno and Asta in the meadows around the church.

Although the church was on a small hill that resembled a mountain.

"Where are those two?"

After searching for a while, I found them playing in the dirt.

"I finally found you, Asta and Yuno!"

"What's wrong, Wendy? Is Father calling us?" Asta spoke in a loud voice, but not so loud as to be shouting or annoying.

"I told you, Asta, coming so far from the church to play isn't a good idea," Yuno whispered, on the verge of tears.

"No, nothing like that. I just talked to Father about wanting all the orphans in the church to have the last name Belserion."

"So, Asta, Yuno," I asked, "do you want to have the last name Belserion?"

"Of course, Wendy, no problem!!!" Asta shouted very loudly.

"Yes, Sister Wendy, I agree to have the last name Belserion," Yuno said a little shyly. "So, it's a promise, from now on your names will be Asta Belserion and Yuno Belserion."

"This last name shows our bond as one big family, and no matter what happens, we'll always be family," I said happily as I held up my little finger.

"So let's make a pinky promise."

"Yes, Wendy," they both said.

With a pinky promise, we all returned to the church.
