Synopsis
God said. "I'll reincarnate you. And I'll grant you two wishes." Two wishes. I blinked. "Two?" "Yes." My brain froze for exactly half a second. "ADAPTATION." The word flew out of my mouth before I could even think. God paused. "That was fast." I straightened up, already grinning. "Of course it was. I've read The Novel's Extra like thirty times. I don't even want to change the story. I just want to live in it. But if I'm going to be there, I might as well—" My imagination took over. There I was, standing in a battlefield of chaos. Attacks bounced off my body like raindrops. I was effortlessly copying techniques, launching a Majestic Destroyer Flame like madara or kirin from sky like sasuke, and probably some move I'd eventually call Ultra Supreme Something Slash. Everyone around me panicked. They couldn't touch me. I didn't even have to blink. I felt my lips stretch into a stupid grin. Then wider. I realized something warm was dripping down my chin. "…Are you drooling?" I snapped back to reality. "Huh?" God was staring at me with visible disappointment. "You're drooling." I wiped my mouth. "…your just imagining it."

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 – “Two Wishes, Zero Restraint”

Chapter 1

I died while reading a novel.

No dramatic truck, no heroic sacrifice—just me, my phone, and a sudden flash of light that erased everything before I could even curse.

When I opened my eyes, I was standing in an empty white space.

"Ah, you're awake."

I looked around their I see him.

"Let me guess. God?"

A man sat casually on nothing at all, legs crossed, sipping something from a mug that said #1 Deity. He looked… normal.

Too normal.

"Yes," he said. "And before you ask—yes, this was my fault."

"…What?"

"I pressed the wrong button," he continued calmly.

"Multiversal synchronization error. You weren't supposed to die."

I stared at him for a few seconds, then sighed. "So that's it? I die because you pressed the wrong button?"

"Essentially."

"…Wow honestly i don't know how to react on this."

He cleared his throat. "To compensate, I'll reincarnate you. And I'll grant you two wishes."

Two wishes.

I blinked. "Two?"

"Yes."

My brain froze for exactly half a second.

"ADAPTATION."

The word flew out of my mouth before I could even think.

God paused. "That was fast."

I straightened up, already grinning. "Of course it was. I've read The Novel's Extra like thirty times. I don't even want to change the story. I just want to live in it. But if I'm going to be there, I might as well—"

My imagination took over.

"…Are you drooling?"

I snapped back to reality. "Huh?"

God was staring at me with visible disappointment. "You're drooling."

I wiped my mouth. "…your just imagining it."

"No," he said flatly. "That version of adaptation is not accessible."

"What?" I protested. "Come on! Mahoraga adapts in real time! I'm not even asking for instant immunity, just—"

"You were imagining being untouchable."

"…Okay but hypothetically—"

"No."

He took a sip from his mug. "If I gave you that, the story would collapse in about three chapters. Also, you'd be unbearable."

"That's discrimination."

"That's foresight."

I crossed my arms. "So what, I don't get adaptation at all?"

"You do," God said. "But adjusted."

He waved his hand casually. "Growth-type adaptation. Slow. Limited. Takes time. You'll have to work for it."

I squinted. "How slow are we talking?"

"Think… a hundredth of what you were fantasizing about."

"…Ouch."

"And you can only focus on adapting to one thing at a time unless you can increase the upper limit of your."

"…Double ouch."

He smiled. "You'll survive."

I thought about it for a moment. No instant godhood. No broken cheats. But something that could grow.

"…Fine," I said. "I'll take it."

"Good choice," God replied. "Also, you'll reincarnate five years before the story begins."

"That early?"

"You wanted to adapt," he said lightly. "Now you can do it properly."

I nodded slowly. Five years was more than enough time. Enough to live. Enough to observe. Enough to enjoy the world without rushing toward the ending I hated.

I turned to the second wish, eyes sparkling with excitement. "Alright… this one's going to be simple. I want—uh—full real-time adaptation like Mahoraga."

God's calm eyes flicked to me. "No."

"What? Come on! It's not even fully overpowered yet!" I protested, waving my hands.

"No. Absolutely not." His tone was final, but I could see the first twitch of annoyance at the corner of his eye.

I thought for a second, then smiled slyly.

"Fine, fine. Then how about time stop? Like… The World! Imagine being untouchable for a few seconds—"

"Rejected." God's mug rattled slightly. He pinched the bridge of his nose, a clear sign his patience was thinning.

I blinked. "Okay… okay. Then how about reality manipulation? Like controlling the laws of physics themselves! I could—"

"Stop." He raised a finger this time. "Next."

"Next? Wait, wait!" I leaned forward. "Alright, alright… immortality! I just want to survive everything—nothing can touch me!"

"No," God said, and the corners of his mouth twitched in irritation. "Try again."

"Fine! Absolute invulnerability then! Even Mahoraga would struggle!" I said, leaning back, trying to act calm while my grin threatened to split my face.

"Nope," God replied, voice flat but clearly strained. "Next."

"Okay… then Six Paths powers, like in Naruto! ultimate perception, ultimate jutsu—"

"Stop!" God snapped, sitting up slightly.

"That's enough!" His voice echoed in the white void. "Do you realize how exhausting this is for me?"

I raised my hands in mock surrender. "Hey, I'm just brainstorming! You said I could have a wish!"

"You can. But not like this." God leaned forward, pinching the bridge of his nose again. "One more time, and I'm deciding it myself."

I licked my lips and nodded slowly, pretending to be innocent. "Okay… just one last try. All Fiction powers, where I can do literally anything. No rules. Total control. Could even—"

"ENOUGH!" God bellowed, throwing his mug to the side. It hovered in midair, untouched, trembling slightly as he glared at me. "You're impossible."

I blinked. "Wait, you're not giving me anything?"

"I am." His voice softened slightly, but the annoyance hadn't left his eyes. "Out of sheer frustration—and perhaps a hint of guilt—you get this." He snapped his fingers. "A sign-in system."

"A… what?"

"Sign-in system," he repeated, almost exasperated. "You will receive rewards when you meet and meaningfully converse with important characters in The Novel's Extra."

"Rewards? Like… loot boxes?" I asked, grinning despite myself.

"Not loot boxes," God said, deadpan. "But yes, rewards." He waved his hand dismissively. "That's all I'm explaining. Anything else, you'll discover later."

I blinked. "…That's it?"

"That's it," he said firmly.

"And," he added, softer this time, "I'm giving you another gift out of… guilt. Awakens after enlightenment. Won't be visible yet."

I nodded slowly, imagining the possibilities, still grinning. Two wishes. One adapted to grow slowly, one… mysterious. And a hidden gift.

"Now, go," God said. "Reincarnation awaits."

The white void faded, and I opened my eyes to Japan. Calm. Alive. A new life as Jin Kaito had begun, ready to quietly experience the world I had obsessed over for so long. No interference, just… fun.

And maybe, just maybe, a little mischief.

END.
