In a city called the Z-nation, a man sat in his room. This was his apartment, and he sat in his gaming chair, playing a game called League of Heroes. The man was named Galen Winters, and he wasn't a native of this world.
Galen had traveled to this world as an infant and had a whole family. He had a father, mother, brother, and sister.
"I've been in this world all these years, and nothing special has happened. I called out to the system, but there is no system. This world is just like my previous world, nothing special about it."
Galen was 18 years old with dark brown skin and curly black hair. He stood at 178 cm and had a fairly toned figure.
Upon coming to this world, Galen thought this world would be filled with superpowered beings. Unfortunately, there were no such things; there were no superpowered beings, and there was no system.
"It's whatever. Just like my last world, I still have a good family, but this family is rich. I got my own suite, a car, and plenty of money to spend."
His previous world family was middle class and did well for themselves. However, this new world's family was rich, and he had siblings, a sister and brother this time around, when he used to be the only child.
"I've reached Diamond rank. It shouldn't be long before I can rank up to Masters." Galen rubbed his chin with a smile. He would just live this life well and happily, and perhaps when he died of old age one day, he'd be sent back.
Galen got up and went to the kitchen to grab something to eat. He simply made a sandwich and enjoyed a soda off to the side with some potato chips.
"This world still has some similarities to my home world, but with many differences within it. This world doesn't have Coca-Cola; the game League of Heroes is similar to a certain game back in my world I used to play."
Galen could only make home-style Coca-Cola but didn't reveal it. He was already rich; there was no point in creating this beverage and making it public.
"Mmm! This sandwich with onion, turkey, cheese, lettuce, simple mayo, and mustard is plain but still really good. At least this world kept this and didn't steer off the true sandwich course."
"Alright, time to rank up. I'll invite a friend this time; he wants to join me." Just as Galen was about to invite his friend, his screen darkened slightly; it looked like he was about to rank again.
However, instead of ranking up, a floating golden letter appeared on his screen with the option that only allowed him to open it.
Galen stared at the letter in confusion for a moment. He thought it might be some invitation to a tournament, but he had never seen it sent in such a fancy way.
Galen clicked it, and a golden light burst from the envelope, transitioning his screen to a website he had never seen before. On it were Pokémon from his previous world, something that didn't exist in his current world.
Notice: You and two hundred forty-nine other people from this world will be transferred to the Pokémon world. The others have not received this notice and will be transferred suddenly.
"What? No Way!" Galen stood up in shock. Pokémon was something from his last world before he was transferred here after an unfortunate death.
"I'm being transferred to another world, again? Was I originally supposed to go to the Pokémon world or something and ended up here?"
Galen questioned. He had no reason to believe this notice was lying. For one, Pokémon didn't exist in this world, and he had once traveled to this world. One could say that Galen was a believer at this point.
"I have to gather some things quickly before time is up!" Galen got up and started gathering things, like food, water, and changing into suitable clothes.
Galen stored these things in a traveling backpack. He was now dressed in black sweatpants and a black hoodie, a fur coat, and wearing a backpack and some black running shoes.
"If I remember correctly, Route 44 should be located in the Johto region. This route is also close to Mahogany City, right?"
It had been a while since he played Pokémon or seen the show, but his memory shouldn't be failing him.
Suddenly: 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0! Transferring. At that moment, the void shook, and a black hole appeared and began pulling Galen in.
"What the heck! Can't the transfer be smoother than..." Galen couldn't finish his last word when his body was spaghettiified and pulled into the portal.
Then, there was darkness.

Galen woke up after a while to find himself in a small forest. He sat up and looked around and noticed the sounds of chirping from the treetops.
"What a violent way to transfer people over." Galen looked around, rubbing his neck, before standing up and patting himself down.
"It really is the Pokémon world!" Galen saw a Pidgey in the treetop staring at him. It probably watched the whole process of Galen's transfer out of nowhere.
Suddenly, a transparent screen appeared in front of him.

Right then, a white present-like package slowly floated down on the system panel. The animation was similar to receiving a mysterious gift in the Pokémon games.
Galen didn't open the newbie gift box right away; instead, he clicked the chatroom. The chatroom was on fire with people who were confused, happy, scared, or angry.

The chatroom panel was moving so fast that Galen couldn't catch most of the conversations.
However, he did catch what User_199 and User_81 said, and he remembered.
"That's right, these people don't know what Pokémon are. This gives me the overall advantage against them."
What was the advantage? Galen could trade normal, lower-in-value stuff to them for rare items they've acquired. After all, these guys didn't know the rarity of most of these items.
Not just that, Galen knew the location of legends and certain Pokémon.
Most importantly, there was a reward for the first clear.
The first clear was to defeat a Gym Leader of your respective region. Also, if you caught 25 regional Pokémon native to your region, you were also rewarded by the system. This was the same for beating the Elite 4 or the Champion.
These were all first-clear quests.
These people won't stay ignorant forever; they'll eventually catch on.
"Damn, even knowing this, it won't be easy to do any of these things." Galen sighed before gazing around. He was in the small forest located on Route 44, and the pathway was right ahead.
"I need to open my newbie gift box!" Just as Galen was about to open his newbie box.
[Ding! Host, Galen has met the qualifications and has awakened the Intelligence System.]
"A system? I began thinking I was some failed traveler or something after all these years." It was actually a system; Galen was extremely happy.
He had read many novels and naturally had an idea about an intelligence system. Before Galen could ask, it said something else that made him happy.

Suddenly, the Newbie Gift Box went from a plain white gift box to a cosmic, starry-sky-looking gift box!
Galen's eyes widened, and he tried to grab the translucent panel to be sure he was seeing correctly.

Galen looked at the items he had received and smiled. He knew from the chatroom that people always received a Pokédex, Aptitude Card, and an evolution item randomly. His exclusive gift box didn't give him any of the evolution items, but something better.
Galen sorted through his gifts. He found that he could open the space at will and store stuff in it. Galen naturally stored all of his items, but only a few remained in front of him.
Most things came in the form of a card when retrieved from the chatroom system. This allowed one to realize the item was fresh and wasn't tampered with.
"These items are really good and can grant me assurance." Galen looked at the items from the Exclusive Starter Box and was satisfied.
"A mask that can hide my appearance, allow invisibility, and allow one to become traceless by vast means?" Galen had begun forming many calculative inclinations in his mind.
Even theft wasn't beneath him or off the table. Galen planned to have much fun in this world, especially with this mask helping him.
"The Eye of Arceus Card read Aptitude? Does this mean EVs and IVs or something for a Pokémon and Held items?"
Galen wasn't sure how this world's laws worked; it may operate differently than the anime and games.
"These cards don't say anything about them. The information on how to use them and what they do appears in the mind automatically upon contact with them. They look incredible when it comes to presentation."
The Platinum Card was a 6-star card and was classified as Legendary. The Eye of Arceus and the Spectre Mask had 7 stars on them, and both were classified as Unique rank.
The Eyes of Arceus card had an illustration of Arceus's Eye on it with no description. Galen crushed the card and felt a tingling sensation in his right eye.
"Oh, my vision has...improved!" Galen expected this from the information. However, experiencing it was different from reading it. His vision had improved drastically with the Eyes of Arceus, and it had the potential to grant other eye-like abilities in the future.
Galen looked around, and his eyes landed on the Pidgey in the treetops. He focused his vision, and suddenly—a blue data screen appeared over Pidgey.

"My gosh, all of its information is completely exposed!" This ability was unbelievable. This would let him pick the best possible Pokémon options.
"Copper Aptitude? This is a wild Pidgey, and judging from the aptitude and IVs, this must sit at bottom tier, for sure." Galen was new to this world, and it didn't take much thought to put this together.
"This Platinum card looks really extravagant. There's a massive elephant on it with gems; this card could boost the aptitude of the user's Pokémon to Platinum."
Galan knew Platinum level was a high rank in just about any and all games. At least, Platinum sat at the upper tiers within those games.
"This will come in handy at a later date, so I'll hold onto it for now." Galan placed this Platinum card into his space. Afterward, his attention turned to the Spectre Mask.
This was by far his favorite item received from the reward starter box.
"Let's give it a try." Galen grinned before putting the mask on.
From the information, Galen only needed to visualize how he wanted to look. Galen's form changed into a blonde-haired, blue-eyed youth of 189 cm.
"It actually worked; even my clothes and voice have changed!" This was simply too heaven-defying; this disguise would put people like Petrel to shame.
Galen changed his form to many people; he could even become a woman!
"System. What are your functions?" Galen finally turned his attention to the system.
[The system grants three intelligence chances once per week. One is guaranteed to be a 4-star or 5-star result.]
"Oh, this is amazing. I could get my hands on some valuable things. Use all three chances for intelligence." Galen couldn't stop smiling; systems were only things you saw in books and anime.
