Chapter 1 - Promised Steward

On a dark night in a cave, some group of Stone Age people stood in front of a silver stone. Its surface was covered with silver liquid in the pond.

A dead baby covered in red clothes, lay in the pond.

Everyone started chanting, the sound echoed in the cave.

The baby's dead body started to absorb the liquid as the chanting sound became louder.

The stone lost its color. The liquid vanished.

The chanting stopped.

The stone shattered.

Then dead baby's body twitched as he started crying.

In a luxurious villa, a youth in his early twenties opened his eyes.

"This dream again."

"Why can't I remember anything about this?"

Even after so many lives this dream still made nervous.

He breathed a heavy sigh and went to take a shower.

After some time, he stepped downstairs.

A maid was waiting downstairs for him, speaking in a respectful voice.

"Lunch is being prepared, young master."

Navam looked at her in confusion.

"Lunch? What time is it now?"

He glance at his watch 2:00, "Okay."

He looked at her and said, "Tell Chef Ryan I need a light meal today."

He was sitting in the dining hall.

A man in his late twenties came with a meal cart.

"Young master, here is your meal."

Navam tasted the soup.

"So, did I improve?"

Navam spoke.

"Huh."

"Not much. but good."

Chef Ryan looked at Navam and murmured in a quiet and excited voice.

"Yes, I did it."

"I am improving my skills."

In the past Ryan had made many dishes. But he had received only one response, it's ok-ok.

Navam looked at him and said in a calm voice, "its about time. Prepared the car."

Ryan bowed and said,

"I will tell the driver."

Sitting in the back seat he thought for a moment.

'What was the name of that family?' yes.

"Take me to the Nayar family."

After one hour he arrived in front of the villa.

The villa gate opened and a security guard approached the car.

"Sir, can I ask who you want to meet here?"

Navam pulled the car window down and said in a calm tone,

"Tell the family head the time to fulfil the promise has come."

The security guard looked at him in confusion. But seeing his luxurious clothes and car, he stopped himself and said, "Sir, please wait a moment, I will be back shortly."

Inside the villa, today was the new family head Sankar Nayar's birthday, the whole family had gathered.

When the security head came in looking nervous, a man in his fifties who was playing with children spoke in an inquiring tone upon seeing him.

"What is it?"

Hearing this tone he knew the family head was angered by his sudden interruption, but he had no choice but to come and tell them about something. That young man's presence meant he was not joking.

"Master Sankar, I had something to tell you."

Sankar Nayar looked at him with a furrowed brow.

The security guard spoke hesitantly.

"A man outside is saying that the time to fulfill the promise has come."

Sankar Nayar fell silent for a moment. As if remembering something.

"What does he look like?"

The security guard spoke while remembering.

"His hair and eyes are silver. His age is around twenty one or twenty two."

Sankar Nayar fell into serious thought, seeing his serious face everyone's gazes turned toward him"

Shankar Nayar looked at the security guard. "Invite him in."

Then he looked at the people present. "Let the children play in another place."

A man in his thirties in a carefree demeanor spoke.

"What happened uncle?"

Sankar Nayar looked at him and said, "Nothing happened, yet."

When other family members approached, a man around Shankar Nayar asked.

"What happened brother?"

Sankar Nayar looked at all the people.

"First, all of you sit down."

"Do you all remember father used to tell us about a story?"

A man with a fat body said.

"Yes, but what has to do with this?"

Sankar glances at everyone.

"He always said, when a man with silver eyes comes, fulfil the promise."

Everyone got stiff on the chair, their faces were serious now. But eyes furrowed in confusion.

The fat man looked at him and said, "You want to say this was that man."

His throat was dry. His hands were covered in sweat.

Sankar looked at everyone. "Don't worry it might not be, What we think."

There was a little tremor in his voice, he was trying to hide.

When the guard arrived with Navam.

Everyone stared at Navam.

The little silver hair was slightly messy, his silver eyes were bright but emotionless looked at everyone.

Navam ignored their stares and sat on an empty chair.

"Who is this family's head?"

Sankar Nayar breathed a sigh.

"I am."

Navam's gaze fell on him.

"Do you know about the contract that your ancestor signed with me?"

Sankar Nayar composed himself and spoke.

"I know, but how can we believe you are one who made the contract with our ancestors?"

Navam looked at him calmly. 'Human.'

Navam took out a contract from thin air giving it to the Sankar Nayar.

Sankar took the contract in confusion. Opening it, his eyes widened, the contract was signed in 1629 almost four hundred years ago.

"What?"

He stood up, the chair screeched against the floor.

Navam looked at his expression and spoke.

"According to this contract, the Nayar family needs to give me the most exceptional person from their bloodline."

Sankar Nayar glared at him and shouted.

"bullshit."

"Do you think we are fools?"

"A person living for four hundred years in his youth."

Navam spoke with a slight confusion. "Are you really his descendant?"

Navam looked at him and said in a calm voice, "The contract had your ancestor's blood on it you can check for more clarity."

Aanand spoke with a malicious grin, "What if It did? Can you leave this place alone?"

Hearing this Navam stared at them, everyone looked so eager to kill him.

"This again, I hate stupid humans most."

Sankar Nayar was sitting on his chair, slight agreement to them.

Navam rolled the ring around his finger. "Foolish humans… always forcing my hand."

Navam muttered a spell. "Gravitational force."

Instanty. The air grew heavy.

Everyone pinned to the floor. Everyone was on their knees, some were fainted.

Sankar Nayar was on his knees, powerless.

Veins bulging on his neck. But he can't move.

Despite the weight of gravity, Aanand stood up with struggle and aimed his hand at Navam's side, muttering a spell.

"Fire blast."

Seeing his struggle, Navam smiled. Before his attack could land, he came in front of him and punched him in the stomach.

Because of the punch's impact his attack imbalance and shot one of his family members.

Navam looked at him – broken ribs, vomiting blood.

"What a talent, Alas." Navam sighed.

Seeing this, Sankar Nayar fumed with anger but pinned on ground.

From the entrance of the hall an old man came and saw the state of everyone. But the moment his gaze fell on Navam he stopped on his track.

His bones started to crack in fear.

He kneeled down and started banging his head on the floor.

The Gravity Force vanished and everyone came near the old man trying to stop him.

"Dad, what are you doing? Please."

But the old man did not listen and continued.

"My lord, please forgive us for our crime. Please. Please."

Navam looked at the old man, continuously hitting his head and said.

"Wouldn't it be good if you had fulfilled your promise?"

Old man spoke while banging his head.

"Please forgive us this time, My Lord."

Navam spoke while pointing at Aanand, "Cut both of his hands."

Old man looked at Sankar and said, "Do it."

Sankar looked at father, "But father."

Old man shouted, "Do it."

A blade fell on Aanand's hands, cutting them.

His shouts were echoing in the hall, the blood scent flowed in the hall making everyone severe. Everyone was silent from the decision of the old man.

Navam said in a calm voice, "Fulfill your promise and you are free."

Old man pointed at a woman in her late twenties with long brown hair and a beautiful face.

"She was my granddaughter, you can test her."

Navam went to the side and asked, "Who are you?"

She kneeled on one knee and said, "I pay my respect to master"

Navam turned his head to the old man's side.

Old man spoke. "I trained her from birth to be your maid."

Navam looked at her and said, "There is no need to do this."

She looked at him with a confused face but still agreed, " Yes, master."

Navam's gaze fell upon everyone and he said while burning the contract.

"From now on, the Nayar family is free from this debt."
