Chapter 16 - Cold-Hearted Killers

Gaster leads the boys down the stairs into an empty room almost looking like a sort of training room, then releases Gabriel.

"I'll end you here..." Gabriel says. He gets up and stares at Gaster with malicious intent.

"I simply did nothing, you have no reason to" Gaster mentioned, looking down upon Gabriel.

"All Monsters are nothing but cold-hearted killers!" Gabriel screamed.

"Well... You sure talk a lot about monsters being killers, but you haven't opened your eyes to reality... You Humans kill more than us Monsters." Gaster replied, "You started a war because you guys knew our magic was far greater than yours" he continued. Gaster talked with pity in his voice, he stares down at Gabriel as if he's ready to fight to the death to prove a point. Gabriel jumps up and dashes at Gaster, full speed as both of his arms get covered in the same matte black tech, emphasizing the muscles on his arms. Nate and joseph sit and watch as everything plays out, as they both know interfering could lead to a casualty.

Gaster summons 7 hands behind him, each containing the power of a different soul, and brings fourth 4 hands switching them to kindness, creating a small shield, blocking Gabriel's full-force punch.

"What? I'm pretty sure that punch had enough force to make a crater!" Nate yelled. Gabriel began throwing multiple punches, Gaster blocking each hit. He then switches one of his hands to patience, shooting a blue rope and slamming Gabriel into the ground.

"Finished?" Gaster asks.

"Not yet!" Gabriel screams. He gets up and charges some energy into his right hand, While Gaster stands by and waits.

"Take your time kid," He says, yawning.

"hmph, you underestimate me" Gabriel grunts.

"Wait Gab-" "Too late! Thermo Blast!!" Gabriel screams. He shoots a giant beam, but Gaster uses 2 of his 'kindness' hands to create a barrier to trap the blast into a bubble and throws it to the side. Gaster then summons a giant hand behind him and grabs Gabriel, lifting him in the air.

"I thought this would be harder," Gaster says teasing him. He squeezes tighter and tighter suffocating Gabriel.

"Gaster!" Nate yells.

"You can stop now!" Joseph finishes. By this point, Gabriel's already knocked out cold.

"Heh, some of you foolish Humans are too full of yourselves, you can't even admit defeat to someone stronger than you" Gaster chuckles. Joseph and Nate both chuckled nervously.

"Hey, Gaster what's this room? I saw the way Gabriel hit you, it should've been enough to shatter the floor at least" Nate asked.

"I built this room to be shock absorbent, basically any sort of impact dealt towards the material this room is made of gets absorbed a bounced all around the room so one spot isn't damaged" Gaster explains.

"Wow! that's cool!" Nate shouts, amazed.

"Yeah... let's bring him back upstairs. They walked upstairs and put Gabriel on the couch. Gabriel and Nate then went outside to go get some lunch, while Gaster stayed back to watch over Gabriel...

"We're back!" Joseph yells as he and Nate bust through the door.

"What'd you get?" Gaster asked.

"We got some Terriyaki Chicken and some rice to go with it" Nate replied.

"Hey... how long was I out?" Gabriel asked, rubbing his eyes.

"Minimum 2 hours" Gaster replied. Gabriel sat there in silence staring down at his hands.

"You okay Gabriel?" Nate asked

"No... I lost to a Monster..." he replied

"Listen kid, you can't get depressed because you lost to someone... all those heroes you know, have gone through a loss which only motivated them to get stronger" Gaster explained.

"hmm....." Gabriel shrugged.

"Well... I need to get home... My Dad's probably waiting for me" Gabriel says.

"Take a piece of chicken on your way out" Nate offered. He grabbed the piece of chicken and headed to the door.

"Well, thanks I'll see you guys tomorrow" he waved while walking out the door.

"I hope he'll be back...." Joseph wondered.

"He will..." Gaster said.

"How do you know?" Joseph asked.

"He found inspiration in the fight... Next time he'll come back and ask for training" he explained.

"So you changed his mind about monsters...?" Nate asked.

"For now... What a wild day..." Gaster said, sighing...
